Things that you liked and disliked about GTA Vice City

Liked

 

- The Music - favorite stations - Flash FM, Wave 103 and Emotion 98.3. 

 

- The fast cars in the game - favorite cars - Stinger and Cheetah.

 

- The blood on screen effect when digging a chainsaw into someone. For some reason I just find it a cool thing to see. 

 

- Able to enter more interiors like the Malibu club which is one of my favorite places to go to in the game because of the crazy memories that I have there lol

 

- Killing these weak and silly gangs throughout Vice City.

 

- Tommy Vercetti and his story. 

 

Disliked

 

- The cops in this game are annoying, they sure ruin the fun out of high speed chases. 

 

- Tommy not able to swim, getting hurt when sprinting down the stairs or across a curb, loses all weapons if wasted or busted. Easily falls off of bike. 

 

- The map feels small and hate how the 1st island has a beach that takes up the half of the island and it's mostly empty.  

 

- Anything that involves a boat, getting in and out of one and the missions when driving in one. O_O

 

- Certain missions that are just plain ridiculous for example the driver, I wanted to kill that fat fk Hilary so bad lol. What a frustrating mission that was. 

 

- Car health is poor in this game, just like in GTA3, a few hits and your car is smoking. 

 

I could list more, but would like to see other people's likes and dislikes about GTA Vice City

Despite the fact that there are a lot of topics like this, I understand you and I have the same feelings. Vice City has aged badly and it has a lot of bad things. I think we agree in the things we did not like. For example, I don't like the fact that the first island is really big, but there is a really long beach thath is mostly empty and unused. Maybe someone can talk a little more about the good things about the game.

I tried to look for topics for what you liked about vice city and didn't find one, I found some for dislike though, just thought to make one with Like and dislike so it can be in one topic together..

Gun mechanics. Actually this is something about the 3D era I don't like as a whole, but playing Vice City before in manual aim was a pretty horrendous experience after playing GTA IV and GTA V.

RC races. Just stupid and so out of place.

 

Neutral:

 

The story. While this is my favourite 3D era story no doubt it runs out of steam as soon as Diaz is killed and then it's just a matter of waiting until Sonny arrives. Maybe I've just been spoiled by the storytelling of R*'s more recent games. GTA IV and the Red Dead games especially, but Vice City's story is just "ok".

I actually agree on the story, as much as I love it. Up until the Diaz being killed is the best part, as it's basically Scarface which is a movie I really love. Once you get the Mansion, you sort of feel like you've beat the game.

I don't remember disliking a whole lot, except I never took to the west island, for some reason. Always preferred to hang around the east island whenever possible.

• Being able to  change to multiple different outfits that all give tommy a unique look. The Mr Vercetti one from buying Pole Position is my favourite
• The choice of switching out weapons between firing while moving with the pistol to the stopping power of the .357 same with SMG's and the variants
• Being able to crouch
• The inclusion of Helicopters and the Dodo
• The Storyline
• Side Quests
• The rewards for collectibles / Side Quests 
• The pop culture references

Disliked

• The unavaliability of the M60 from Ammu-nation and having to go to Phils to buy it or steal it from the Army base
• Not having the AK47 or more shotgun diversity its the 80s give us some more classy shotguns and the AK just feels missing
• Tear Gas being cut for PC was a real bummer
• Tommy not being able to swim in a game where boats are kinda important 
• Having to endure Kent Paul
• The fact Lance Betrayed me (Why Lance? Why? What did I ever do to you?)

Some lack of game mechanics (swimming, aiming like GTA:SA, etc)

I had forgotten how painful the little planes are to direct. These sh*ts never keep a constant altitude so I constantly need to adjust their height and as if it wasn't annoying enough the little pieces of crap are very sensitive, just keep making them lean forward a bit too long and they touch the ground or the sea. The mission Bombs away! is an ordeal, it doesn't give any clue about the method to drop a bomb with precision and this stupid deadline between 2 droppings is a total laughter.

Why the f*ck is the Delete Game button right below the Load Game button? Who thought that was a good idea? Especially when you first have to press the Start Game button, in what world does that make sense? It's the third time I accidentally delete my save because of that joke, and I am pissed off. Thankfully I am smarter now and I have a backup, but I'm not looking forward to redoing No Escape, The Driver, The Job, plus getting 15 packages, doing 6 rampages, and 2 more Top Fun missions (edit because I only remembered now: and the worst of all, robbing 7 stores). A day and a half of progress wasted, and I even stayed up most of the night yesterday since I have a few days off work. Can't wait to be done with this piece of sh*t game (yeah, yeah, I love Vice City, but I am very mad now). And I hope the f*cker who designed the title menu chokes everytime he goes to have a glass of water for at least the following month!

The burning people who run away out in areas you can't enter with the firetruck are sometimes EXTREMELY annoying.

 

Not so long ago I was playing a fireman sub-mission and had to light off some burning cars close to the airport and one burning ped ran iside of the airport, sometimes close to the entry sometimes on the opposite corner. Everytime I came to the entry that scumbag fled to the other side and everytime I ame to otherside the douchebag fled to the entry. After several minutes I had to use a trainer to disable the countdown because of that piece of burning $hit ped. I was seriously thinking about stopping the sub-mission after something like 15 minutes rolling back and forth vetween the entry and the boarding gates when that son of the [email protected] burning ped finally stayed long enough in the same place so I could extinguish the flames. That moment in the sub-mission was a mental torture, I'm glad I don't have to face the same problem in 3 and San Andreas.
