Mysterious hero Posted June 4, 2019 Share Posted June 4, 2019 I may or may not have discovered a potential way for Arthur to free roam in New Austin. When I played the mission "Pouring Forth Oil IV" I realized that the final cut scene doesn't have a "set" area where the mission ends. Then I also realized that, during missions, the instant kill sniper is disabled. So I had the brightest idea; I gonna try to get to New Austin during the mission while invading the lawmen. This is what I did: 1: Play the mission "Pouring Forth Oil IV" 2: Play the mission normally until the objective is "Invade the Lawmen" 3: Hogtie a lawman and put him on your horse. This is so you stay in the "Wanted Circle". 4: Ride towards Dewberry Creek. Take out some of the lawmen. 5: Then, ride towards the Heartlands. Make sure at least 2-3 lawmen are on your tail. After a few hours, the furthest I got was near Horseshoe Overlook. The cut scene actually showed the crew right by the camp. I think it's possible to go further then that. olivier8472 Posted June 5, 2019 Share Posted June 5, 2019 I was doing one of the last story mission of chapter 2 (Arthur and Charles going south and finding the Clemens camp) and decided to go south west instead ...Being in a story mission changes the rules and we were able to cross the river but with some limitations :- I tried to go go to New Austin but the invisible sniper was waiting for us .- Lawmen spawned at Blackwater.- Plants were disabled .- Arthur was able to hunt and fish (but I did not get the notification for a legendary fish at Aurora basin) then went to the Tall Tree trapper and sold him some stuff .- Also some loot and the ability to draw points of interest . So if you replay a mission, the instant kill sniper is disabled. However, if you are currently playing that mission, then it isn't disabled? I want my Arthur to do as much as possible , especially when you know how what will happen ... That is why I can't accept the fact that Rockstar did patch the Bronte glitch . They shifted the balance of content so that there was more things to do as John, which is fine. However, the fact that Arthur can't get the Legend of the East is ridiculous, it makes zero sense that only John can get the LOTE, since John is also considered the Legend of the West. They should have made it to where you don't need to complete Herbalist 9 and 10 to get the LOTE outfit. That way, you have some content for John without restricting the reward for Arthur. LittleJesus Posted June 7, 2019 Share Posted June 7, 2019 The dinosaur quest unlocks early in the game, so I understand players that want to do that right away besides our reward is just a knife it's not like we get a boost on all our stats. I did try this method a few times and got decently far, but I don't think it's worth it tbh. However, if you want the LOTE outfit, I'd suggest using this method: youtube.com/watch?v=71BajAdO-3c It still works, I just did it. I got the LOTE outfit as early as chapter 3. However, I will warn you, this method is very tedious. In the video, it's shown that there are "safe spots" in New Austin, that part of the glitch appears to have been patched. So every time you picked all one of the four flowers (Red Sage, Desert Sage, Wild Feverfew, Black Currant) you have to start the method over again. You just need to stay away from the red area covering the playable area. Theoretically it should be possible to get to Mexico and Guarma as Arthur still, though I'll need to check for myself to see if you are able to get all the way across the out of bounds region of New Austin. Funny thing is, if you activate the camping kit while out of bounds in New Austin, you will actually spawn in the playable area in a camp. I simply used the out of bounds glitch near Pronghorn Ranch, the one that involves you going into the cave, going across the bridge, into the left room, and getting so drunk you pass out. GTASeries shows off the spot I'm talking about in their video about getting to Mexico and Guarma on their channel. it's around the 1:08 mark. And yes, it does turn out that Arthur being able to explore the out of bounds region of New Austin, and being able to reach Mexico and Guarma was already known information. Never used this forum before or really experimented with cheating before, but I am desperate to get both the Billy Vest and the one vest that requires the legendary cougar & legendary wolf (easily the most stylish clothing in the game in my opinion!) as Arthur. Is this impossible because of the law and the invisible sniper? I have an Xbox one that is completely updated, and am in chapter 3... If you or anyone can help, tysm!
