If a passerby loudmouths my character, saying stuff like "you get the hell away from me!", I turn around and shoot them in the head. If they greet me nicely, I wave (in a most stupid way the game makes my character do so). When they pull out their rifle while passing me, I take out mine too, but I do turn around and shoot. I started doing this for the Hat Shots rewards and decided to only shoot those who loudmouth my character. After I got the reward I kept doing it, feeling they get what they deserve. In my experience, a pissed off random NPC firing on the draw from horseback is the most accurate and deadly non-player enemy in the game, I still get caught off guard by it sometimes... Shooting at NPC loudmouths seems to help to my honor from rising too quickly due to horse care. Happened a few times when I happened to be skinning a critter on the road and a passing NPC gets offended by my presence despite minding my own business. They thought they were big men, now they're just dead men baking in the sun, serving as food for the crows. Harkens back to an issue in many Rockstar games where NPCs and even law enforcement give two sh*ts if a crime is being committed when its an NPC doing it. You can even hide behind a lawman, and bullets whizzing past him and he still will stand there and do nothing, but the second you shoot back to protect yourself....wanted. Considering how NPC's in Rockstar games are infamous for being temperamental and going mental for so much as looking at them the wrong way, the law should just be intolerant of them committing crimes as they do the players. jazzbone Posted June 4, 2019 Share Posted June 4, 2019 Just today i unloaded my sawed off at very close range on some guy lipping off at me. Shot his horse too! I had stopped to view the map. It was on a narrow path in the swamps. When i exited the map this guy was next to me and lipping off. Like the guy in Borderlands 2, this guy was asking me to shoot him in his face. So i did. Overall it was surprisingly fun to let out my inner Grand Theft Auto on that guy, and his horse. Unfortunately at times you get small strings of witnesses you also have to deal with but such is the life of an outlaw I guess. I imagined the npc's were all Rockstar devs, ignoring the error being there consistantly. I made it my task that evening to splatter npc brain all over the place. The funniest one was in a canoe at night. I shot one of his lamps and the boat, including the imaginary dev, caught fire. okay, that was an evening of extremes, but fun. It's not always easy because witnesses seem to show up our of nowhere. After that I cut them free and try run without getting shot. Something to try it you're bored. So a much more subtle head nod or verbal communication was used instead! - For the topic, I usually just ignore them unless they draw a gun to intimidate; then I usually lasso and drag the useless sap. If they start shooting at me they’re dead, but I’ll let them draw their guns and run their mouths if they want to. I usually want to try and avoid conflicts if I can, killing a chain of witnesses is more work than fun and I’d rather go do a mission if I feel like shooting people who really needs shooting.
