wweraw526 Posted June 3, 2019 Share Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) Liked - Playing the story - The game's atmosphere - Driving the fast sports cars, my favorite is the Banshee. - Flashback FM - Favorite radio station - I love how it plays some of the music from Scarface, I also like Head Radio, Lips 106, Chatterbox FM as radio stations. - The funny stuff that some of the peds say for example when you steal a cab "Hey! that's my damn cab you" - I liked how they showed us how Claude is this silent cold blooded killer, that gives zero fks about anyone, I like when rockstar puts good work into these protagonists in these games, to show us what kind of people they really are and what life they are going through. Disliked - The army and their powerful weapons, you need a miracle to survive their M16's. - After killing Salvatore, the mafia become a nightmare towards you, make sure you get all your stuff done early if going after 100% completion. Mostly after beating this game, like half the city with gangs wants to kill you. - No reward for 100% - Car damage is quite silly in this game, a few hits and your car is already smoking - Certain missions that are just plain ridiculous for example the ambulance missions - Dumb things that Claude can't do like swimming, going inside buildings, bail out of cars, buy properties and others. - No map in the pause menu. - The whole justice system is f'd up, gangs shoot at you first and cops only go after you if you fire your gun or fight back against the gangs. O_O, so dumb. - It sorta sucks when you beat the whole game and get 100% completion, there's not much else to do. LIKED: Being the first 3D GTA, the gore, funny as hell ped quotes, Liberty City, Claude, athmosphere, and the overpowered M16. DISLIKED: Tedious missions like S.A.M, no reward for 100%, can't bail out of cars, (if you played the other GTA games, you will constantly press the button to get out while in high speed just to find out that it doesn't work), no map, and everyone hates you when you complete the game. This section looks more active that's why I posted on here, if the mods move it no biggie. I also like the gore, shoot peds limbs off which is cool. Sure, it makes the city feel very dangerous, but I prefer the way it was handled in GTA San Andreas and IV. Except that's literally the least work they could've done on the main character - he basically has no personality whatsoever except the one you give him. To be honest, Claude is a hot-blooded person which I liked, I would dislike the game if they gived us a silent character which give missions by hands or idk(not protagonist), Claude usually thinks of consquences first before taking actions so that would make logic. The only thing I disliked is the things that was Rockstar possible to do like swimming and savehouses that I can buy, but they not available. Of course because you could get to the initial map part hidden behind the dam... but still, would have been nice(r) Like: You could not only get onto all islands before actually opening them, but you could save your game at the safehouses there and do stuff like collect the packages, do taxi / ambulance asf. missions. I know, I know, he was simple and had no voice lines, but he fit the game. I'd rather have a silent protagonist that fits the game than an annoying one. He's the silent and gets sh*t done kind of type. - Atmosphere. Especially after the opening intro. Just really sets up the game really well. - Liberty City. It might not seem as impressive now, but back then it was awesome. Even now, I still find little details whenever I revisit it. - Cars. I pretty much like majority of the cars in GTA III and the driving felt great, especially for it's time. - Radio stations. The music was top notch, especially Rise FM. Dislike: - The shooting was really bad. I don't particularly enjoy the shooting much at all in any of the 3D era games, but everything else made up for it. - Some of the Missions are just boring, or tedious. It's my least favourite to play through because I'm not a huge fan of most of the missions. Some are great, a lot are just 'ehh'. - No map. - Trying to fly the god damn Dodo. Sunglasses Posted October 15, 2019 Share Posted October 15, 2019 One small thing I appreciate about GTA III: you actually get to see why you can't cross the Callahan Bridge, because it blows up. The Lift Bridge reasoning is alright, but I really like how we actually get to see why we can't use it, happening live! You feel really isolated as a result, sets the mood for the game perfectly.
