Things you can appreciate about your LEAST favorite GTA

Plenty of “what’s the best/worst” threads, and we already have a “things you don’t like about your favorite GTA”; well how about being constructive and name some things you like or really appreciate in your LEAST favorite GTA games.  I’ll start.

GTA V:

- I like how all the cars in San Andreas have unique license plate numbers, and if you steal a car that same plate remains with it.  I also appreciate how old cars got older license plates and government vehicles got government plates. Very cool details that only car people would notice likely.  I hated the “Liberty City” plates in IV.

-Director mode.  Cool concept that I play around with.  I like that we can spawn vehicles and change the time and weather, like a cheat code mode almost.

-Police cars got a deserving amount of attention.  The cruisers have different unit numbers and lights actually look like cop lights. This isn’t new for video games, but it’s new to GTA, and I appreciate that.

-Gun smoke that fills a room (and just as quickly dissipates)  after firearms are used indoors.

The Ballad of Gay Tony:

  • Drug wars (still don't match TLAD's gang wars, IMO) and fight club.
  • The ability to replay missions after the story's completion.
  • Sticky bombs. I reckon they could've been used pretty cool if they were in GTA IV's story as well.

GTA V:

  • The fact that cutscenes feel very connected to the game's world, where the protagonist spawns in the same place the cutscene ended at, without a black screen in between. GTA IV had that for a moment, but only for the first mission. A wasted opportunity I'd say.

GTA V

Just the sheer amount of small things they put in like if you run into another character they'll ask if you wanna chill or punch you if you're stalking them

Letting me finally kill Rocco

Decided to pick a mainline game instead of a spinoff.

GTA V:
-Vehicle customization
-Weapon customization
-Animals

-Mission background score
-Reloading animations

-First-person view option

-Ragdoll button

-Quick save

-Snapmatic
-Director Mode

GTA Online:

It can be fun in a lobby full of friends that don't want to kill eachother every time.

The huge amount of vehicles and vehicle variety (let's not talk about the huge prices tho).

Just the sheer amount of content, Rockstar or user-created.

Yeah, I should add vehicle customization to my list for GTA V.  It’s really the best in the series.  I mean San Andreas had some good car customization, but realistically it doesn’t come close to GTA V’s.  The number of options dwarfs any other GTA thus far, and, coming off of GTA IV’s non-existent customization, felt quite liberating.

There are some other little details I really like about V but can’t come to think of any at the moment.

San Andreas:

The map, Cesar, The Truth, Woozie and Toreno.

Bratva Assassin

V:

Michael, Franklin, Lester, Chop, the ability to hunt (I still can’t wrap my brain around the fact that you can ONLY do it as Trevor though, WTF, I bet Chop would make an excellent hunting dog. Also, Michael and Franklin could do a MUCH better job, imo)

Actually, you make Chop for pickups, but not animals, lol.

Liberty City Stories had at least a really good central premise for a GTA game. Perhaps one of the best of any in the series, if you're simply looking at it purely as a concept. Playing a Mafia goon trying to rig an election and sort out union trouble should have been amazing.

Also, Toni Cipriani's voice actor was better than Michael Madsen in III. Guy had a God awful script to work with, but he had a damn smooth voice, and perfectly suited the part.

Evil empire

GTA 3:

-The gore mode with the ability to severe the arms and legs and turn any pedestrian into a human trunk using explosives is very entertaining.

-The variety of places and atmospheres Liberty City offers, the city can be gloomy in somep laces and make you feel at ease and free in others with a very well assembled whole. I also like the mountains and closed tunnels that give the feeling you have something beyond the city's limits even if I know it's just an illusion.

-The taxi job pays very well, you have short distances to run and the roads network gives you a good diversity of possible itineraries excepting in Shoreside

There are many other things I appreciate in GTA 3 which is a very good game by the way but here are the main ones.

San Andreas I barely noticed this numbers boy our subject isn't cool, you may not have a clue , how the map blips constantly like in Multi-theft SA

you may not have style , just buy the nearest safehouse near the tracks ,well everything you lack you make up in denial.

Don't debate DIRECTOR'S CUT player straight. cruisers you know you really don't get it anyway.

If you don't rate. CRUISERS that way although the police characters behave despotically unruly AI.

Just overcompensate keep it real boys, for you no way.

I dunno, maybe all the various car models added over the years, that get better use when ported over to IV? 😛

GTA V:

  • Option A
  • Car customization
  • Changing clothes is much quicker than before
  • The rain
  • You can access your phone while in the ocean, instead of having to swim all the way to shore
  • Accessing the Internet is more convenient since you can just do it on your phone instead of having to drive to an Internet cafe
  • Compared to Michael and Trevor (especially Trev), Franklin isn't a headache
