Effective Camouflage outfits?

Hey all, I was wondering if there were any outfits I could put together that serve as a combat-like outfit (including helmets, tactical vests, etc) while still serving as an effective camouflage for the environment. I'm trying to get a woodland outfit and a desert outfit (lmao f*ck urban), but I'm having trouble finding good combinations. I mainly try to shoot for Gunrunning-Smugglers-Doomsday outfits, which is a chore since most of those camos have a color palette that makes them almost entirely useless in the environment (I'm looking at you, Light Woodland), camouflage/matching tops are basically out of the question with utility vests, and most of the gear/camos from Doomsday are just a f*cking joke. Are there any suggestions for outfits that actually serve as decent camo in the world of San Andreas while still looking like you mean business? I can post pictures with what I'm working with so far if anyone is interested.

The "Ghillie Suit" features on this video actually kind of works:

I know that thread, I'm the one who matched up the camos to the closest real-world counterparts.

It's a good thread, but it doesn't really tell you what camos are actually effective in the GTA environment. It's more just what uniform to buy to look like a soldier from X Armed Forces.

In terms of GTAO, this is rhetorical. For forest area you pick green camo, for desert you pick biege. Camo itself doesn't work, because you still have a map blips, nickname above and you can't crouch nor prone.
Basically, it's all left for your taste to choose which camo pattern you'd like to stick with. In my personal experience, there's not a single case of camo concealing player.

Unless your opponents turned off every single effect via config files and play on phone resolution.

Got more chance of going unnoticed if you dress like a normal NPC I reckon.

Anyone with combat outfits and the like in freemode, I tend to give plenty of room. Rarely wrong too, but that's not to say those in normal clothing are all peaches either. :)

Otherwise, as above. Depends where you are.

100%. One time I got "locked" by a MK:II-spamming sniper who would just move from rooftop to rooftop. Hid someplace he can't shoot me, turned Off The Radar and equipped my NPC Lookalike outfit and just ran away from there. He didn't detect me nor do anything until I was on the radar again; by then it was too late.

Makes me think of these.

I've had great success with my camo outfits, particularly the flecktarn and cobble/mossy(?). If caught on foot I typically take cover in a treeline or some bushes and poke out just enough to see where I'm shooting; even had one guy run literally right up to me -  on radar and all - just to die by getting smacked in the face by my lvl 17 lady character's heavy revolver. Cover all skin, have several outfits for different environments, avoid clear lines like parachutes/vests and stay as featureless as possible.

You have a giant glowing gamertag above your head.

You also glow bright orange in IR. None of the camo in the game actually works. Stealth mode in the Akula is neat if you want to disappear, though.

There's no point really if your opponent is on foot, but if you are trying to avoid jets/helis/MK2s dark green is excellent.

Works on grass, in the city and on sand even.

Something like this:

I grief with jet a lot, and people with clothes like this really make my day harder.

Splinter camouflage for woodland areas. Make sure it's the large pattern. The large pattern hides the body's outline similar to dazzle camouflage they used on ships.

Grey is more effective in the city. But you don't want to dress in all grey, you'll stand out. Try grey and black. Or dress in civilian clothes.

Keep in mind that camouflage is pretty much useless in GTA. A good sniper won't be fooled by it.

HA! Small world, Failrace’s videos randomly played when I left YouTube on. His voice and timber are actually pleasant to the ear, a rarity for any social media streamer.

Yeah, I especially like his opening line, "Helloooo, and welcome to the show!"

I don't think any camo would actually work, since the blip on the map is always showing where you are,and your name is floating right above your character.Even against NPCs there's no camo that works, since they easily spot you and always know your exact position. All of the camo and tactical stuff is there practically just for cosplaying as a soldier.

I'd have to agree with people saying that civilian clothes (plain T-shirt, jeans and sneakers) combined with Off The Radar option would probably work best against other players, most of them would probably mistake you for an NPC,especially if your character looks "generic" and doesn't have any weird features like face tattoos, unnatural hair color, unnatural eye color, etc.

now if camo only actually worked and you could hide in the bushes to trick the cops
