-LN-
Levelling up and unlocking everything is first on my list; I hate being restricted on what I can buy or do. In conjunction with this, I'd say becoming financially stable in preparation for what lies ahead. Currently I'm at level 85 and sitting at just under $4,900 with 140 gold bars. Ideally, I'd like to have at least $5,000 and 200 gold bars on hand at all times; with anything more and before the next significant update drops, I feel as though I can freely spend that on whatever catches my interest at the time. I'm still finding it difficult to spend a lot of money; even though there are things that I want, but I would like to at least level up to unlock everything first. Also, to just have fun - whether playing solo or with friends and to simply be able to enjoy it all for what it is and what lies ahead. It's not perfect; there are still many flaws and bugs - overall, I would definitely say that it has a long way to go, but I'm still enjoying it more now than I ever did before the update. I'd like to continue to be able to feel this way and be there as the game continues to change and evolve; hopefully for the best! Commander S
Well, my top priority is running a lot, just because I committed the cardinal sin of eating food during a mission so as not to die due to empty cores not working (I know, I know - I should have just died and failed for everyone, because this game is so very well designed... ), and now my character is "overweight". Except, yanno, not to look at, because certain character body types show no visible weight gain, because of course they don't... Aside from that, and my ongoing goal of 'see how long I can stick with this, before I throw it on the same pile with grindy, unrewarding survival-style games that waste my precious free time with busywork, just to keep my head above water'? Probably the following: - knock out some easy buckles to earn experience efficiently - stockpile money faster than daily expenses eat it up - finish off the honourable story missions (screw the dishonourable ones, don't care for that side of things) - get a second stall to store my free Ultimate Edition horse - rank up enough to get some decent outfits unlocked - same for the Mauser, and earn enough to customise it to my liking - unlock a nicer look for my camp, and swap to a fancier tent All of which depends on how much the game eats away at my patience - I'm splitting my time between RDO, Forza Horizon 4, and Mafia III, and both alternatives are a lot better when it comes to rewarding my time/effort. I worry this game is going to become one of those 'if I just grind a little bit more, then I'll start having fun!' experiences, which isn't a great look when pretty much everything else I could be playing makes for a genuinely fun time no matter what I'm doing (heck, even painting cars in FH4 puts a smile on my face). I never set a camp, never roam the same places and would probably never use the house much, as in GTA Online. I would only use the house as a spawn place if life outside it would be far too risky to spawn in, but that is not the case by far anymore. Since the update I have been spawn killed 4 times only. Once I got killed by some douchebag who happened to be near where I spawned. Another time I spawned at the edge of a cliff, fell off and died and I got mauled by a present bear twice. So, 1 player kill, 3 Rockstar moronic spawns. I'd never make use of the house. In gta you need a high end appartement to start with a heist. In order to do MC business stuff you need a MC club house. You need a bunker to do bunker stuff, hangar to do flying deliveries, nightclub to do promo missions, arena to get the remote vehicles, the thunderbird's garage to do facility heists. So buy a pay wall = access to new content. I am sure Rockstar will copy the gta format to RDR2. In order to plan a heist in the future of RDR2 , you will need a shack. No shack = no heist. And then with the next release, in order to do pony express deliveries, you will need a stable. To be an oil baron with the next dlc after that, you need to buy a drilling rig. So no property = no access to new content. Lonely-Martin, BUT THE BENZ and Xtf

If I really want to experience having everything again, I'll check in on GTA Online. This game is totally different for me. No need to get all the best weapons, stats, cards or whatever they throw at us. Been there, done that, enjoyed it for as long as it lasts. Rockstar would love us all to own a house in every region, stables we can never all fill up and flying horses with rocket launchers. If the original map lacks space, they'll get bunkers and facilities to work, all on steam, perhaps. On the serious note: the era just doesn't trigger any collecting sh*t for me. No need to own 45 horses 6 houses, with wardrobes filled to the brim. It's just my character, the clothes on his back, his guns and his horse... Red Lynx 23
My goals are: Hit rank one fifty off the daily challenges tomorrow. Get out of red overweight. My character hit that just by eating flaky fish and gritty fish. So I only relied on refilling cores at camp for a short while. We'll see if it made a difference when I log in tomorrow. Raylan Givens
Get into a Showdown match successfully. /sarcasm honestly...hoarding money and gold is my current goal. But I have fun doing it. Stranger, story, hunting/fishing, or the occasional showdown if it works. The different activities help it not feel like a grind as opposed to GTA where all I eventually did was gun running basically. Currently at 200 bars and just over $11k. Really hoping for a property or permanent camp at some point. Edited June 2, 2019 by Raylan Givens Classique and Red Lynx 23

That, and it's all too easy to buy the best available option at any time, then buy a better version when that unlocks, which winds up being needlessly expensive. It's already far too easy to blow money on newly-unlocked clothes/weapons, just because 'new stuff', but with camp upgrades, I'm just going to put the money aside for specific stuff, and only buy that which I want to keep. (...and by then, R* will have probably added something new instead anyway, like you say! ) Credit where it's due, though: at least with the various stuff like camp upgrades, you only need to buy them once - same with weapon customisation. Lets you freely swap between them, which is cool - and it'd be a bit cheap of R* to force players to spend gold every time they wanted to change engravings or whatnot. I have a Blackfoot Native American, e.g., who only steps foot in town to sell to the butcher: he hates the white man and only interacts with him to conduct business or to kill him. Assblaster
In coming months/years we'll be able to differentiate our characters even more, with progression of character roles leading in all kinds of directions. The latest R* interview really has me excited. The coming bounty hunter, trader, and collector roles are only the beginning, and will be followed by others, or so the current plan seems to be. "“We don’t want to just pigeonhole you into being a criminal, but allow you a number of roles that you can take forward from the ground up.”" "These roles aren't meant to be a temporary progression path; Rockstar built each of these roles with expansion in mind. Whereas you started immediately as a CEO of your illegal business in GTA Online, the road to potential riches is a much longer journey in Red Dead Online. "“What we're doing with this game is asking what are the steps involved if it took you months, years, or whatever to get to that,” Nelson says. “What would it be for you to start your business in your camp to becoming a Leviticus Cornwall and owning a railway or a mine?” "This approach gives Rockstar the freedom to tap into a lot of different Western fantasies. Perhaps the honorable bounty hunter eventually becomes a lawman. Maybe the successful trader eventually expands her business into a Saint Denis storefront. The door is open to expand and evolve these roles continually. "Nelson says the world technology is malleable enough to allow developers to add new elements as needed to serve these roles as well. “It’s pretty exciting to be able to change the world for people so that it's not a static thing,” he says. “It’s evolving and players will have to evolve and adapt with it.”" I like how it's hinted at that roles such as lawman, mine-owner, rancher, riverboat gambler (or owner), archaeologist, could well be coming to RDO eventually: "The ranching and farming mechanics from the epilogue are ripe for conversion, as is building a homestead, running a riverboat gambling enterprise, or leading archaeological digs. These careers could be diverse enough to draw in fans of the single-player mode who are turned off by the current focus on competitive multiplayer online..." Very exciting possibilities! source: https://www.gameinformer.com/2019/05/14/rockstar-outlines-the-future-of-red-dead-online Edited June 2, 2019 by Assblaster XLG The Joker, IamCourtney and Rev. Are you using 13 different accounts, as in paid 13 times for this game? I'm genuinely curious how you get even more than 1 character. Am I missing something? (Obviously, I do, but what?).
