TheLordMarvel
Bolt Action Rifle. Great damage and accuracy, optional scopes for sniping (not as good as an actual sniper rifle, but still, good if you're in a pickle) - Good at both close proximity and distance. wehweh01
My favorite weapon to get kills with is either my Scholfield with Split Points or LeMat with Express. However, my go to weapon is generally my Semi Auto shotgun for close range and Carcano Sniper rifle for long range. No aim assist or Paint It Black. traksta1
Anyone have any idea how long it takes to attain full affinity with a particular weapon?. Just bought the semi-auto out of boredom and it seems really innaccurate and lacking in range compared to the pump action to me. Only hip fire with semi is noticeably faster than it is with pump. Got a bad feeling it's going to be added to the list of things I'd rather I hadn't bought. OT: Lancaster (because 14 quick to fire, powerful shots before reload needed). wehweh01
19 hours ago, No Homing said: What about the repeating shotgun? How does the firerate compare? Repeating shotgun has the slowest fire rate. However, it has 1 extra shot than both the Pump and Semi shotguns. It's also more deadly at longer ranges compared to all the other shotguns. I've killed players with hipfire from ranges that even Paint It Black + Double barrel can't do. Chrismads, Amy Vinewood and No Homing
Ronin Ogami
Atm, the LeMats are a monster for anyone accustomed to revolvers. & With dual wield, the scattershot rounds can be a CQB godsend. I find I score more head shots, & have far more successful hip fire engagements than I ever did with my schofields. It's like having a extra revolver with you having 3 extra round per gun, & it shows its worth when you're swamped. IamCourtney
Raylan Givens
Yes, I'm using PiB currently since the S&S aim nerf. But regardless, favorite (since SP) is my trusty pump-action shotgun. Other than that I use the Springfield, without PiB, for the 2-body-shot kills. I suck at headshots so yeah. Sometimes it's fun to use my dual Volcanic or dual LeMat. Dr.Rosenthal
Lancaster That’s my short answer, but it’s my first hand choice and probably the one I use most.
Jason
Lancaster for practicality, Pump-Action for funzies. Amy Vinewood
Assblaster
Shotgun for close range, hands down best. Depends on the character though. I have some characters that use a revolver or shotgun almost exclusively. Others prefer a repeater/shotgun combo. I have one rifleman-type that uses his repeater and nothing else. AmyStone
Lancaster about 80% of the time because it's quite accurate at a distance and fairly fast. I can get a headshot around 50% of the time and if I miss then it doesn't take long to get a second shot. I never get close enough for a shotgun to be any good and bolt action is good but reload is slow. When in PvP if i see the deadeye symbol appear a lot then I know they're using paint it black so I don't stick around. It's a card you can't win against unless you have the same one. IamCourtney
Definitely the Bolt Action for me. In wide open free roam, being first to shoot is your best defense so I want a gun that lets me lock on at the maximum range. I prefer the added oomph and faster zeroing-in to each shot over a repeater's better capacity and RoF. Chrismads and Amy Vinewood

It takes about 200 kills with one weapon to reach maximum affinity. You can tell when it is maxed by looking at the reload bar in weapon stats, when the weapon is 100% clean there should be no more grey remaining in the bar. Chrismads
I always use schofield or now the LeMat when I can get away with it. Simply because of the high damage and godlike accuracy. And also because it's the wild west. For close range the repeating shotgun. Dunno if it is better than other shotguns, but I do win the majority of cqc encounters. Except against double sawed offs, those are beasts. (We need an ability card that lets us reload the repeating shotgun like Arnold while on horseback!) For range I did normally use Lancaster, but now with the nwo nerf, I think I'll switch it out for a bolt action with splitpoint. The max accuracy should make it easier to face shot enemies to bypass nwo. I've noticed a massive increase in number of times I've been killed by bolt actions since the nwo nerf. 7 hours ago, CMCSAVAGE said: I had someone crying on mic early because I won 2 Last Stand's back to back and was using explosive ammo. And In what circumstances? thanks Mostly worth it for the crafting award, & if you use dead eye a LOT in combat, split point drains it slower & that is very good for things like "Paint it Black". You only get 1/2 the ammo though, so choose your battles wisely. 100 rounds can blow by super quick in showdown.
