Slight difference of opinion than most of my fellow GTA IV fans but I'd rate it a 9.5/10! :) I agree that it doesn't have quite as many likable characters as IV and TLAD, is also a bit goofier, and even not quite as good as IV and TLAD. I still really like it A LOT though and think it is a great DLC! I'm pretty sure this also covers all the GTA's on how folks on this forum would r8 games on scales of 1-10. Well, at least all the ones that matter..

Now for my catchphrase: What about YOU GUYS?

Wow American Venom/SonOfLiberty/PulpFiction/Algonquin Assassin/xXxRyanxXx, your minion does not agree with you on this one.

Gotta go for a 9.5/10 as well. This DLC gives you what IV is lacking. It's a shame that it wasn't in the vanilla game.

7 to 7.5/10 when it comes to me.

What mostly hold it back for me are the too overdone over the top factor and goofy, unbearable characters (especially this). However, I give it a credit for being a part of the GTA IV saga, with the same map, physics and mechanics of combat and driving.

8.5 or 9/10. Weakest story of the IV trinity. I appreciate the opportunity to mess around with the parachutes, APC, Buzzard, explosive shotgun and sticky bombs while the game mechanics were still inherited from GTA IV.

How so? He acknowledges it's not as good as GTA IV and TLAD like his master does.😉

Anyway I rate it 8 on the basis of it being apart of the trinity. Its story is weaker and most of the characters are unbearable arseholes that feel like beta tests for the characters that would later appear in GTA V. It also feels disconnected to the timeline like it's not even occurring alongside GTA IV and TLAD and feels like it's a different time of year altogether. However as I've said before when I view TBOGT as its own thing and separate from GTA IV and TLAD it's a pretty good game.

In that case I would probably rate it 9 since I don't really have any issues with its gameplay elements and it still retains GTA IV's core gameplay.

So 8 (As part of the GTA IV/EFLC trinity)

9 (When considered independent)

Ima give it a 6 and that’s mainly due to the forgettable story  and the characters the only people who stick out really are Yusuf Luis and Tony. Luis friends are annoying with simple ignorant minds and I forget they even exist until I actually play the game.

The city isn’t engaging they took a lot out of the game the boroughs lost their feel because they put those bikers every where I should be able to go to holland and feel like I’m in Harlem not with bikers on every corner posted up.

I didn’t find Luis interesting as a protagonist. Luis to me was just a one dimensional character who got old really fast Luis is one of the top forgettable protagonist in GTA Johnny is way better

9/10 It depends but I rate it as a DLC and not as a game(like other GTA's),so this means I rate it as how much and good content, vehicles, missions, secondary missions, weapons adds that GTA IV didn't had. TBOGT adds a lot of great stuff, all missions are fun/action,parachute,Buzzard and APC are the best vehicles in my opinon,I liked all weapons, cage fights(should be in TLAD),nigthclubs(at the end of the game Bahama Mamas should reopen for player freedom and the excuse should be like Yusuf bought it and reopens),Nitro and races are amazing.

Missions are great, but the storyline...not so much it is easier(without fight)the weakest and worst of the GTA IV/EFCL maybe because it's too short but there are few missions with Armando/Henrique (maybe a feature of call for backup?),Luis is confusing and without goals and the final is great but Tony just dissapears(must be an explication, like he left town because the Ancellottis still want to kill him).

Misunderstood

10/10 like TLAD and IV. While still the weakest of the trilogy, I would not have it any other way. This game needed to be as light as it was because we already got the rag to riches with Niko and the white trash poor side of Johnny. TBOGT needed to have the lightheartedness to balance it out or else the whole trilogy would have felt too similar imo. Personally, I think they all complement themselves perfectly and never got the disappointment other people feel for it. Then again, I haven't played IV or its DLCs in a minute so we'll see if that changes. Been beating all GTA games to 100% and currently on Vice City Stories :3.

That was the GTA of my youth, played IV when I was 20 years old and especially played a lot of TBOGT, my favourite part of the trilogy. Although I like original IV and TLAD, TBOGT occupies a special place in my heart. Special enough that I have reinstalled it, bothered with the trainers and went on the rampage today. Shadows are breaking something in the game that even 8700k with 1080 Ti can't get stable 60 fps, but after disabling them I'm getting smooth gameplay. Great game, great times in my life.

Actually, EFLC is the package that includes the two installments, TLAD and TBOGT.

I get your point, though. I'm glad that you really enjoyed it.

Misspelling on my side, meant TBOGT. Thanks for your input man.

9.5/10 for me.

It's essentially GTA 4 with more content, which isn't to be sniffed at. I'm still playing it 10 years after release. I very much like the story albeit not being as good as GTA 4 but it's certainly memorable.

My own personal opinion, but I can't stand GTA 5. I love how there are now so many vehicles that are based of James Bond cars and JDM stuff but it's all a massive grind fest and the single player was weak for me. Especially the 'heists'.

It really makes me appreciate GTA TBOGT more.

9/10. i do think that the story could have been better. i would have preferred a story that shows that while liberty city can be bright on the outside with the partying, glamour and color, it is actually dark on the inside (kind of like how IV and TLAD show that liberty city is dark on the outside AND the inside).

however, i don't think that all of the characters are annoying. i really like gay tony, and luis is better than most people give him credit for. although ray bulgarin starts out goofy at first, when he showed the cook's head to luis, 11-year-old me got a heart attack! that sh*t was scary. it even scared luis, and he's a hardened criminal.

also, i gotta say, nightclubs, triathlons and LC cage fighters are all very fun side activities.

when the 'weakest' story of the trilogy gets a very high score of 9/10 from most people, you know IV+EFLC is a masterpiece.

(the only thing i hate is the explosive autoshotgun, lol. it's too overpowered, it should have only been unlockable with a phone cheat code. the regular autoshotgun is fine though.)

Same rating for me...it shows the 'other' side of Liberty City, great weapons and it brought back the 'wacky' element that was in the 3-D Universe and missing from IV & TLAD (hijacking a subway train car?).

Of course TBoGT gets high marks for having the Number 1 GTA supporting character ever in Yusef Amir - "we're getting Arab money!"

Okay, long post ahead. So sorry.

After i finished my first IV replay, first time without cheats, i went right to TLAD, it only took 2 days i think— hated it. Just hated TLAD.

Next day though? Started TBOGT. Pretty sure i finished it within like, 24 hours (march 2nd-3rd) when i was basically unable to move and it hurt to do anything. I was physically miserable but oh my god... TBOGT? ART.

I didn't wanna do anything else. Didn't wanna eat, drink, get up to do anything, and that wasn't just the whole being in pain thing, this game is just [chef's kiss]
except the mission where you have to blow up the yacht and the little dinghies. The yacht was easy but the dinghies? UGH.

I'm gay. So like, through my eyes, there's a LOT of gay stuff in IV. Like, to the straight ally's eye, Bernie's just a caricature, but to me? Oh my god. Perfect. And then there's a lot of thoughts I have on Niko's interpersonal relationships in general, but besides that— I'm saying, IV was gay, to me at least, as a gay dude. But TBOGT is like, GAY gay. No debate whatsoever, but like... That's obvious. LOL. But seriously, the sh*t they cover in it is just so... Correct, that I was sitting there playing like, who the f*ck was your informant? YOU KNOW? I've never felt so seen.

A few days back, I saw this video in my suggestions and my hands started shaking, man. My stomach dropped, dude. I felt the FULL WEIGHT of the ENTIRE GAME so suddenly. TBOGT means everything to me. I could go on about it, but I won't, because I'm already embarrassed about length here. Anyways:

9/10. Can't believe they removed friend outings with Tony!

8.7 for me. Good, not great.

Main thing that annoys me is that there wasn't enough dlc cars to modernize the streets and make the city feel like glitz and glamour, new and shiny. It would've been cool to see a 2nd gen rebla,  and/or the 2nd gen cavalcade from GTA5. Just more 2009-2010 cars on the roads. All we got was the schafter and serrano.

a 8 or 9 for me. the game is really good. It lacks customization but the story and the Luis Lopez are good. Heck ive even named my account after Luis Lopez. Hes my 2nd favorite character actually with my first as tommy vercetti. The only people who hate this game are the people who hate luis lopez from gta 4.

Why do you like Luis Lopez? Don't remember anything special about him. He was just a bodyguard who does random jobs for money

He is actually really relatable. Also (this is just bias) I liked him a lot because he was a foreigner like Niko. I am indian so I can relate to a lot of stuff that happens to him. He isn't the most special but yeah thats about it criticize me if you want man but i like what i like.

7/10. Luis is one of the most boring GTA protagonists, reminds me of Toni (although not as bad I guess), just a lap dog with no character moments of his own. Gay Tony and Yusuf were great but I didn't really care for the rest of the cast. I hate how they made Bulgarin a joke and Brucie seemed lame and not funny here.

The more over the top missions are obviously there because of the hate IV and TLAD got and some of them are fun for sure but overall the story doesn't fit the GTA IV Saga and the established vibe of LC

9/10, Great game, great side content, my favourite game in the series. What held it back was the weak protagonists and characters, it also had great missions and random encounters

TBOGT got dumb storyline missions, only the Drug Wars side mission are the only game mission that is interesting. And there are no random encounter mission in the game lol

How can drug wars be interesting if this is just mindless shootout, no plot at all? 3-4 scenarios repeating all the time.

And there were 3 or more random characters.
