Not in the market to replace my trusty Trotter but a friend was just saying he needs to move beyond his starter Morgan, so this looks good for him. 

 

Free Roam is my thing so more stranger missions is always gonna be a good thing afaic. Be nice to have more cause to head up to northern Ambarino, often never felt worth it with so little to do aside from sightseeing.

 

Seems Lemoyne is starting to overflow with missions which ain't bad since it's my favourite region, hope they spread the new ones out more.

Not able to swap my saddle to the new horse for some reason. As if the way to change horses in the stable wasn't convoluted enough I seem to have forgotten all the necessary steps.

I'm pretty happy with the last two Tuesdays.

 

Defensive play style and the new hostility system seem to be working well. The new story missions are good and I enjoy replaying them. The LeMat is heroic. Full length fur chaps, John's vest, ponchos. The Nacogdoches saddle is great. A bunch of free stuff, and to top it off Sadie Adler as a freeroam mission giver.

I like the fact they are now addressing things via Hotfixes that aren't only money related:

 

"resolving issues related to reduced numbers of animals in sessions, updating Defensive mode to revert Playing Style to Offensive and apply a Hostility penalty when stealing cargo from another player’s horse and more."

Maybe they should have done that during the Beta(lol) but good that they are at least starting with it now.  Giving us much needed fixes, without waiting 2 months for the next Update.

We will see them in a month. They are 'month exclusivity for 4 updates' as seen on their little YT videos.

 

So far we've had the Grizzlies outfit stuff (1 pack), the red Arabian and saddle (2nd pack), the jawbone knife and assorted clothes (3rd), and now this as the fourth. So, going by what they say this should be the very last time PlayStation gets an exclusive set of items. (unless I'm wrong on the amount of free stuff we've gotten, please correct me)

 

Anyway, if you go by their "Road Ahead" from last week it ends on June 11th. That leaves the next Tuesday after it, June 18th to be exactly 4 weeks from today (a month). That would leave the next Tuesday after that officially in Summer (as June 21st is the first day). So around that time we should be anticipating the next update, but angrily chastising them for delaying it 2 more weeks and giving us sh*tty discount weeks until we finally get it on that faithful Tueday and 90% of us shut up for a day or two.

 

But I digress.

It’s different since you can use your own weapons, and you play 5 rounds. The map is also new, i like the new maps, annesburg mine and colter is very good and feels fresh

So the new free "upgraded" saddlebag isn't actually an upgraded saddlebag, its outfit limit is still 3, which means the custom outfit slot will still constantly overwrite your manually saved outfits if you use it, had to invest in a normal upgraded saddlebag for the new saddle so that I don't have to keep re-saving my three outfits, the way outfit storage and saddlebags work is still completely messed up in general. On the bright side the new free saddle itself is awesome.

Yea the saddlebag system just needs redoing completely. Some cool standard saddlebags will be unusable because upgraded is meant to have a higher storage limit, it makes no sense at all. Just give us like 10 custom outfit slots and be done with it.

Yeah, the only reason upgraded saddlebag is worth having is not because of storing more outfits, because you can't, but because it prevents your three outfits from getting overwritten by the custom outfit slot, which shouldn't be a thing at all, the buggy custom slot just causes problems online and even moreso in singleplayer, the whole system is messed up.

New horse is bugged or something it isn't letting me change saddles on it.

 

Stables are just being wonky in general. Sometimes I can't equip saddles to other horses, sometimes I can. All seems to be stemming from the new horse though.

No, just a business decision, it really is unfortunate, I hate exclusive content, even if only temporarily exclusive, it benefits nobody playing the game to do that. Really hate that the Xbox players have to put up with content getting withheld from them for any length of time. I do not want the content I'm getting to be locked away from nearly half of the people playing just because they're on a different console than I am.

Rockstar was supposed to make a PS3 exclusive game that ended up being cancelled. These PS4 exclusives appear a deal they worked with Sony to make up for that.

This is the 3rd.

The 1st early acces content update was in November when RDO launched.

The 2nd was the Beta February Update.

The 3rd is today.

The 4th will be the summer update.

After that (probably a winter update) everyone can finally enjoy the same content.

It's worse than that. Xbox players not only have to wait a month, they need to pay for it instead of getting it for free.

 

Besides that the update is great. I like how Red Dead Online is evolving.

ALSO:  I just got 2 goldbars when I logged in. why? just climbed 1 rank a day. maybe....I logged in this afternoon, before the update, but it failed to connect me while loading and just booted me back to the starting screen. I expected to see that "1 goldbar rewarded" message but got that FAIL text. now I got 2 goldbars when I logged in?!

^ I ranked up shortly after the Tuesday daily objectives hit, and eanred myself one last gold bar for ranking up. But lo and behold, was also given two gold bars when I went online this morning. As for the new items, some of them that I want are PS exclusives for the next month or more. Whatevs, I finally got around to buying a Horse Meal pamphlet today.
