ViperGTS-R
Oh sorry i think i said that wrong.... i have 2 AMDS: they are 1x 2000+ On 24/7 1x 2100+ On for about 2/3 of every day and a PIII 800mhz Celeron (on about once a week for about 12 hours) i might add some more i have another 2x 800mhz in the house but they arent worth it...... i have a proxy server which is a T-Bird (bout 1.3 i think) do you rekon its a good idea installing it on there too? it is on 24/7 and doesnt do much (its for only one of the comps in the house) so you and me would prob about even, if i left my 2100+ on 24/7 (majestik)

Exkabewbikadid
that's why you choose FAH client in settings, not GAH or AUTO i told you i did that's strange. I don't know why that would happen, but hopefully it won't happen again, although the g@h project is important too. Has anyone noticed the new banner on the stats page that stanford has put up? Go click on it and check it out. It's done in the Matrix theme with a sound clip from the end of the movie where Neo is talking on the phone ending with RATM's "wake Up". That's weird too. No more than I put the main riff to "Wake Up" in my sig, the intro to the song appears in Stanford's folding advertisment. I guess Stanford is changing the code. I don't quite know what this'll mean, but I hope it means WUs will fold faster, especially with P4s.

Edwards
Would anyone like to tell me how I can specify FAH over GAH? I'm not using the GUI version, so all I have to configure is the config file. There are no dropdowns in a text file.

Welco to the team, GTAuron. We need all the processors we can get. Right now we're closing in on the 500 mark in the team rankings, but I think we have a shot at the top 100 if we can get at least 100 processors active per a week. I did a little research and teams ranking from 90-100 have anywhere from 8 to 163 processors active in a week, with an average I'm guessing around 50 processors. Their scores rank from about 67,000 to 81,000. We have score 8772 so far, which is roughly 10-12% of a 90-100 team. If we can get double the average number of processors, we will eventually close in on a top 90 rank. @Edwards - Have you gotten any g@h WUs yet? Maybe the console version will only get f@h WUs, I don't know though. I'll do some research on this.

The reason that one is taking so long is because it's a Tinker Core. Tinker Core WUs suck. I have a Tinker core right now worth 40.9 and it's at 252/400. It started Tuesday and won't finish untill early Friday. So don't worry about the deadline too much. Some WUs are given up to 50 days to complete, AFAIK. Majestic posted a link to info on each WU a page or two back. On the other hand, the ones with 100, 500, 1250 frames are Gromacs core WUs and go much quicker than Tinker cores. My 1.8 P4 can finish a 33 point (which is usually 500 frames) Gromacs core in about 15 hrs. Yeah, the WUs are distributed randomly. we can't control which ones we get. however, you can increase your chances of getting more Gromacs core WUs by adding -advmethods to the end of the Target line in the properties of the f@h shortcut. See a couple pages back for more info.
majestik
i'm always doing TINKER cores... maybe it's time for some GROMACS my 1.8 amd (2300+) does 70.9 tinker unit in 40 hours 70/40 = 1.75 points/hour 33/15 = 2.2 points/hour so yeah gromacs is more efficient

majestik
hmmmm xcomm, gromacs runs faster with -advmethods tinker runs slower with -advmethonds i turned on advmethonds to finish this wu, and my time per frame went from 6min to 19min! _edit_ holy flying f*cking monkeys! bwahahhah! Exkabewbikadid
Score: 10,000! Alright, so it's not a million, but it's the teams' first landmark. Next up: 100,000. Team rank is 515 so we should reach 500 in the next day or so too. Not bad for one month of folding everyone. Right now we have about 43 on the team, so maybe by June 17 we'll have 100 processors going. If only we could get half the forums folding, we'd own HardOCP by the end of the year! Here's the code sample for the sig if you want it to link to this thread. I probably need to ask mike39 to edit it in to his first post so people don't have to dig through 14 pages to find it. Thanks for helping out, Zero. The easiest way to go is to just download the graphical client. For your username, you can use your board name or make one up if you want. And the team number is 32093 EDIT: Oh yeah, don't worry if your name doesn't show up on the list right away. It won't show up untill a couple hours after you've completed your first Work Unit (WU). If you're on a dial up connection, the finished WU will be sent in to the servers when you connect to the internet.
[ZERO]
N/p. I was talking to Tank and he helped me through it all. Right now Im at 13/400. Is there a way I can get it to go up at a faster rate? EDIT~ If anyone wants to wear the banner Im wearing that would be better than the SigUp^ image. Im afraid SigUp is often down, and my server is not.
