Frank Castiglione Posted May 4, 2003 Share Posted May 4, 2003 Well it depends on the specs of the comp 40oz & straight away I can guess Xcomm has a really good 1(1.Ghz) Well I have a P4 1.8 Ghz, but it's a sh*tty HP that offers absolutely no flexibility, so I'm gonna shove it off on to someone soon and build a new machine. But I just check my user stats and noticed something quite strange: Golly gee, the last time I checked, my pc only had one processor. Somebody managed to accedintally use my name, or they want me to take over majestic. I hope it's the latter Who the f*ck is folding under Xcomm's name? Quit that sh*t, goddammit, that's bullsheet unfairness. I was well over his ass, and now somebodies cranking out with him, too? After I do that, however, I'll get a bit more lax and I might transfer half of my processors (4) to GTAForums. Getting in the top 1000 was a cakewalk, but man we really need more people if we ever want to make it in the top 500...250, or even the infamous 100... My mystery processor has disappeared and I'm stuck with a f*cking Tinker core that won't finish untill Thursday. I think the TINKER vs GROMACS thing is that preferred WU thingy. I dunno which is which, tho. Gromacs core is supposedly faster, and so far, the Gromacs that are worth 33 points have been much faster on my machine, less than 20 hrs. the ones worth 73 points take about as long as a Tinker core, but is worth more points. Using the -advmethods tag (see a page or two back) will increase the likeliness of getting a Gromac, but you'll still get a Tinker once in a while. Tinker core is the older core that takes longer to compolete. Right now I have one that will take about 40 hrs to complete. From what I've read, Stanford University plans on phasing out the Tinker cores. I don't know what the other cores are. Majestic posted a link a few posts back that has info on the different proteins and their values (but I haven't checked it out yet). EDIT: "The Machine" will never measure up to "The Beast" here. It didn't hit anywhere in my city of 150,000, but it managed to wipe out some smaller towns not too far away. 2x4's and insullation were raining on my neighborhood from a town about 6 miles away. Sometime soon I'll put the final nail in linuxbox's coffin (the old su, then rm -rf /). That install of RH8.0 is dying, and once it dies, I'll be installing something better. And dnetc will be replaced by F@H. That'll the 3rd CPU working for me. I might even go around and get some obselete hardware (I know a guy who has piles of PC components lying around).
