Actually, you might be able to catch me... briefly tounge.gif My ass-kicking 3.0C has been down for a week now because I RMA'd my RAM, and it'll probably be down for another week because I'm gonna RMA the motherboard too.

As for the team reaching top 100, err, not gonna happen. We need to be crunching at least a score of 10,000 a week, and currently we're around 4,000 and losing processors, so we're probably gonna lose a few places confused.gif

http://www.statsman.org/folding2stats/html/

Also, stealth mode refers to the DOS-style client, not the graphical one (see first page)

Well I added another processor to the mix, a 1.6 amd athalon which runs at the speed of a 2.2 pentium 4. So that makes 3 cpu's for me, but one of them is a piece of s*** 700 mghtz or something like that.

I'm just wondering why people complete 1 W.U then quit.. why the hell did they start folding in the first place angry.gif

I also have a question. I tried installing the console verion with hideitx on the 700 mghtz cpu, but when I started the computer up it said the folding@home shortcut is invalid. I tried installing it again a few times and it kept telling me that. The program ran fine but hideitx wouldn't work and I didn't want to have it on the startmenu so I put the graphical client back on. This computer has windows ME if that makes a difference.

I went over the process 3 times and it always told me the shortcut was invalid. So if anyone knows what's up, let me know. Thanks.

My Dad hates the program & he thinks it knackers up the comp so that's why I'm not folding but you should see me back in 1+month as I'm getting a 2.2GhZ Notebook

How can a program that does f*** all mess up the comp???

I should try to get it installed on every computer on campus biggrin.gif

And F@H doesn't really affect the computer, unless you turn CPU usage to 100%, which is still not very noticeable unless you're trying to do CPU-heavy stuff. Joey, maybe you should try the stealth mode (find out on page 1 I believe).

And, eventually you may see me running over 200 processors, I'll keep you all updated. wink.gif

I just realized the little folding@home banner in some of our sigs doesn't work. It seems to try to link to a page on ikonboard wow.gif But I noticed some do work, and link to the gtaforums folding page..

Someone's gotta change the code or something...

[edit] I fixed mine but the code on the first page still has to be changed.

Not enough to affect any thing your doing. You can set the amount of cpu usage the folding program uses. So, you can have it use anywhere from 0% to 100%.

I have mine running at 100% and it does not slow my computer down at all. I can even play games such as counterstrike with absolutely no problems. The only time I notice lag is if I am playing counterstrike and I finnish a work unit. This is because the unit is being uploaded to stanford.

450 mhtz is not that fast, so you may want to keep the usage down. Just change it around and use whatever works. If all else fails just use the lowest recomended setting, which only uses power you are not currently using.

Do not take the above post too seriously. Run it at full 100%, just set the priority to idle (one of the settings, somewhere, in the GUI client), and it won't interfere with your system. I run it like that on my mom's PII 350MHz box. You may want to set the max CPU usage to 95% if you're worried about temperature, as it seems the top 5% has the greatest effect on the CPU temp.

Well unfortunately this isn't exactly my computer so I'll have to talk to my dad about it but I'll convince him tounge.gif . Hopefully you guys will have another member of Team GTA.

Your computer is definately f00ked, renatoe.

Here's your stats. You've done 5WUs and have a score of 6. What's happening is that your computer is corrupting the WUs which causes them to finish early. The only reason you have a score of 6 instead of 0 is because Stanford gives partial credit for corrupted/incomplete WUs.

The fact that f@h is messing up is a clear sign your computer is unstable. You prolly need to reformat your hardrive and reinstall windows.
