JuliuszMCMXCVII
I don't get this. I thought that the exact reason why r* implemented two currencies in rdo was to avoid any legal troubles concerning online gambling. Funny how in GTAO I could bet on races without any issues. I hope that using VPN will fix this issue otherwise I'm done with this game. lewiz6235, TNT Goes Boom!, -LN- and 3 others

Made a long ticket for support to tell me what's up, I believe this is just a mistake as there are many games with gambling that are legal. If R* can't then why is that so many can... Even betting in GTAO. Czech rep is a small country, maybe they connected us with germans or something when selecting where it will be locked. Ya know mericans don't know much about Czech rep, it's just a small country in the middle of europe most of probably never heard of so they decided to connect us with Poland or some other country which is next to us. Idk how to call it, maybe generalization of central europeans? People don't get how much variety is there between our tiny countries. The law in Czech rep is not the same as it is in Poland or Austria even though we are next to each other. -LN-
It's very odd, I agree; I've played actual poker games on PS4 (where you could buy chips with real money) with people from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Russia, and just about every other country in Europe. It doesn't really make sense; even players from the US have access to poker in RDO and unless things have recently changed, they still aren't legally allowed to play poker online at places like PokerStars. lewiz6235, TNT Goes Boom!, Hetraet and 3 others

Here in Poland, we do have ridiculously strict law concerning gambling in general but the poker present in RDO does not violate it. I do blame Rockstar. I'm not going to believe that they couldn't get it done right. It looks like they took the easy way out. In Czech rep we don't even have strict gambling laws, many casinos around the place I live in, several casinos in shopping malls, slot machines in bars etc. I just don't get why suddenly even a harmless poker is considered as illegal gambling here in R*'s eyes. I bet USA laws are way more strict in this instance. Chrismads

Elothel
Hey guys, apologies to interrupt your political dispute on a thread about GTA online poker, but has anyone affected been able to succeed with some sort of workaround? Changing your IP / VPN / PSN settings? Please let me know if you did (or didn't for that matter - it's always good to know). Thanks. Hetraet
Found this: Truth is, except for 8 countries in the world (Cyprus, Poland, North Korea, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia), players gambling online have little to to worry about. But in these countries online gambling is illegal and players who place bets online can be prosecuted (typically a small fine, but in some of them even incarceration is possible, see the table below). Where exactly is Czech rep. listed there? It's like I'm saying... They connected us with Poland for some dumb reason despite the fact we have a different legislation. Jason
This thread has absolutely nothing to do with politics, if you want to debate that go to the D&D subforum. This thread also has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not RDO is free or not. This thread is for gathering information about the regional restrictions in RDO, helping others with legal workarounds (VPN's) and attempting to get the matter resolved with Rockstar. Have nice day. Hetraet
Ok guys big update: I'm currently in London hell yeah. Avast secure line vpn. Set up a hotspot on win 10 through that vpn and it has 30 day free trial with 5 gigs limit which is enough for me to try out poker. Not for long I hope, there is a new bill getting pushed by senator Hawley you can read about. ^LMAO. You cannot sue the because this does not constitute false advertising. I mean I can(sort of) understand that you are unhappy with Johns Feature set after he becomes a Playable character. But I certainly believe that R* provided a solid worth with RDRII, I mean the games Singleplayer is packed with content and features, other games would have sold the Epilouge as DLC or something. Also OT: I believe R* didn't disclaim or mention it because they don't want any attention on that subject whatsoever. It is more or less a legal "grey area"; especially in EU countries, and their legal teams may be figuring out gambling regulation for certain countries(such as Czech Republic or Poland), and maybe making it available at a later time.
