jpm1
don't know if you are already aware of this. but intel processors made between 2011, and today are subject to a nasty vulnerability right now. it's called ZombieLoad. researchers managed to grab passwords in real time using that vulnerability. the patches are ready, so be sure to have your OS automatic updates on. according to Intel the fix will cause performance loss, between 3 and 9 % in most cases, but can be up to 40% in some rare cases. google it. these days when you feel you've been badly screwed (i know it's not intel fault) Edited May 15, 2019 by jpm1

SilverRST
Not sure if it's not Intel's fault but I think they deserved it due to their dirty tactics in the past. They even wanted to prevent this going public by offering another 80k aside the 40k.
Static
tfw its really 5 different vulnerability and the preformance hit is between 16%-50% depending on the workload.Ā Ā https://www.extremetech.com/computing/291649-intel-performance-amd-spectre-meltdown-mds-patches Ā https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-amd-mitigations-performance-impact,39381.html Ā And with Ryzen 3rd gen right around the corner, why even bother with intel at this time?
