Anyone on Xbox able to help me test out the defensive mode? I wanna see if paint it black can paint defensive players, if you can be killed, what headshots and explosions do, and so on. I don't mind being test dummy.

I’d help but alas I still cannot log in, no idea what’s going on as it worked find for half hour after the update dropped, now I can’t get in.

It's in the freeroam options menu

As long as the try to push PvE and PvP players together they will keep failing because PvE players will always suffer because of it.

Haven't gotten a chance to try the update out for myself but from what I see I kind of like the approach Rockstar is trying to take. By putting everyone together it forces people with different play styles to interact with each other and makes the world more unique. 

 

If I'm finished selling animal parts in defensive mode and feel like joining in on a fire fight in Valentine for a change of pace, I can do so without having to change lobbies. 

 

Like they stated in the article, if this play style fails or becomes too hard to regulate, they have passive mode and/or free aim lobbies ready to go just in case

This update seems to be the best so far for the game, especially poker, which some skeptics were saying couldnt be done. I cant play right now, but I wanna see how this minigame plays out in Online. I'm hoping poker is just the first one of the minigames.

Description now says "you cannot Mark or be marked while playing in defensive style"

Yea I’m genuinely surprised they added Poker. People convinced me they couldn’t add it for legal reasons but hey what’d ya know...I lost about $30 playing it but so pleased it’s in.

 

Was on for a couple of hours and bought a pair of LeMats (thanks for the 15 gold Rockstar). They are cool as f**k. Played one of the new stranger missions where you have to destroy the goods in St Denis and had a lot of fun. Nice to have a bit more variety with those. Visited the pig farm and got a mission from that couple..standard capture the target and bring him back but I think there will be other types of mission for them? Played the new PVP mode (forget what it’s called) and enjoyed it. It’s quite brief but still pretty fun.

 

Played just the one new mission so far near Strawberry which was also pretty fun. Not encountered any dynamic events yet.

 

If they keep adding regular updates like this then this game could get very good....

I want to take a break from retaliation and press charges against all offenders. I was constantly disconnected from the online servers. 

 

I did buy the LeMat. It is getting used to. Reloading is much slower. I perused the new clothes. The poncho's are a bit meh. But I welcome any new additions.

Thank you! I wouldn't have spotted that for a long time I don't think. Them quietly changing the description like that - useful though.

A low level shot me before and it done a little damage (I think it was a cattleman). I blew him away with dynamite arrows and didn't incur a bounty or leave defensive mode. I'm sure you can be killed but you've got an advantage with less damage taken. I wonder what dynamite arrows do to defensive players?

I think that's a dynamic event possibly. I had a dynamic event where some people were being swarmed by what looked like lemoyne raiders for some reason.

I really want to change my character appearance since it looks R* is taking online seriously, there's no way to do it? I don't want to delete my level 70 character.

 

Nevermind I will delete him since he looks from Alabama.

Hopefully its open world type of minigame where you and other players sit at the poker table to play instead of joining a different session.

had my first dynamic event, some mexican dude asking for an escort into town, he tried to jump me at the last second but my pump action blew his brains into the New Austin desert
