I haven't seen anything about private sessions. Many people aren't going to waste their time playing this game until they get private sessions.

im glad they finally gave us our update. so far from what i played i like it. i love the poncho. i also love the reference to chuparosa. i have only played one mission so far. the defend valentine one. and i bought the lemat revolver. i also played overrun mode a few times. i like it. it reminds me of land grab from gta online. and i liked that mode. so overall i think its pretty good. and im glad to see people liking the game instead of bitching about it. it was getting so annoying every tuesday hearing everyone bitch and whine about it. but im sure that will happen again. i just hope it will be a while.

It looks as though separate lobbies are R*s back up plan for if they can't make this one size fits all lobby type work.

You do realize they spent like what 6-7 years making Red Dead? Im sure majority of that was spent on offline . They made that now they must focus on online or its dead in the water. So its not like they didnt do anything ever for SP RD.

Defensive mode combined with the other anti-griefing mechanics are making a noticeable difference. I've been walking around in the middle of war zones and I've been fine.

I could imagine a fan-made multiplayer mod for RDR2 ... should it come to the PC ... could be good. I guess I'll wait for that because I really don't like the entire infrastructure of RDO nor GTAO.

Even though I haven't played in nearly two months and had pretty much written this whole thing off as a complete failure and disappointment, I'll hold back a bit on being such a stubborn bitch and give it a try later today. Afterall, what's the worst that could possibly happen, right?

 

I must say that I'm shocked though; I didn't expect poker to be added today - that itself opens up a lot of potential for not only myself, but quite a few of my friends who had given up hope and stopped playing long before I had. It seemed as though it would never be added and we had all planned to play together long before the online beta even made its debut, so this will come as a nice surprise for some of them.

 

I'm still 100% not interested in the PvP within this game - namely because of the ability cards still  being very much part of the equation, but the new defensive playing style option, the non-PvP additions, and the projected future additions all sound as though they have some potential, so I'll try to go in to this with an open mind and approach it all as if it were a new game entirely. Essentially, it probably is; at least for me!

 

I've learnt not to set my hopes too high though; especially given my expectations in the beginning and how much I pretty much couldn't even tolerate the game at all right before I had stopped playing, but I'll still just hope for the best and give it a fair shot once again. Also, thanks again to@ALifeOfMiseryfor posting these update threads and to everyone else who has offered their feedback and insights on the game. This "beta" has been a long, gruelling test of patience, but it was quite refreshing not waking up to see everyone disappointed over some patronizing and insulting promo for a game that once seemed completely doomed and dead.

Very glad to see the Beta over with, pages and pages of bug fixes, new story missions and all the rest of the new content.

And Ambient Occlusion is back - along with a HDR Calibration menu? Nice!

Nice to see they didn't touch the ability cards this time either.

I'm looking forward to some of the good folk here to start posting about decent load outs that work well when using the defensive play style.

 

I don't have the time to farm XP these days, so I can't indulge in trial and error for myself anymore.

Am i the only one that can't find anywhere the new story missions?
I have full High Honor, completed all the older ones (in the pause menu it says "Story Mission - completion 61%, but it was 100% before they added the new one.)
Changed session, tried many times to find some of them from the Quick Join option, but nothing.

Suggestions?

I replayed the last mission and got it to pop up.

Clearly they haven't learned that since GTAO by pushing the business stuff in public lobbies.

 

No invite only/friendly lobby = not interested, dropped RDO after encountering so much greifing in it, the new passive mechanic sounds half-assed because it still allows potential for greifing from the sound of it despite making it harder for the greifers. You know those bastards will find a way around it.

 

As long as the try to push PvE and PvP players together they will keep failing because PvE players will always suffer because of it.

With defense mode - I'm in. That way I can choose when I want PvP.

Apparently you can play rdr online until late May on playstation without having a ps plus thingy. 

Which is good as I dont have it. So gonna give it a go

I'm goin t o completely uninstall and reinstall the game from scratch when I get home. Then I'll try a little poker online and see how it goes....

MIGHT be tempted to start over as I am only level 13 online.

Will start story mode over again without question to get some really nice pics with the new HDR settings.
