djb204
When the game first launched more then 1/2 a year ago and players first discovered that Mexico was in the game (sort of), the speculation began about Mexico being added. Now here we are 7 months later and still nothing. We’ve been drip fed content ridiculously slow to the point where Mexico feels like we over anticipated what Rockstar will add. We haven’t even left beta yet lol. This first year of Red Dead Online hasn’t been all that amazing so far. It’s a solid game with solid gameplay, but additional content wise, it’s subpar. I feared Rockstar would go the quirky route like they did with GTA Online’s flying cars, werewolves, etc. Now I feel like like they’ve already put their foot through that door with medieval armour. Sorry, ranting off topic... Back to Mexico. Does everyone still believe it’s being added? and if so, when does everyone believe Rockstar will add Mexico? Blendi-
Probably but no one knows when. Maybe when they release it on PC? Online only maybe with this "big" update they're working on?
Guest Guest176525326
Mexico won’t be added and the RDR2 Online will stay as beta forever, you heard it here first...

Jabalous
I don't think so. It'd be a lot of work to remaster the whole of Nuevo Paraiso, especially towns, ambiance and pedestrians. A lot of dialogue to record and events to mo-cap and script. There's no point unless they plan to create a story that takes place in Mexico, which I also don't believe it will happen. DexMacLeod
I never really saw any reason to believe they would add Mexico. The portion of the old map that already is there is pretty useless, don't see why they'd want to add more to it.

Maybe when they decide to release RDR2 on PC on the next gen they add RDR as DLC seeing as the first one never made it to PC due to sh*t codding. The things we can expect from now on is either some dumb supernatural DLC like Undead Nightmare or just continuous new game modes and overpriced clothes to RDR:O. The Blast
My theory has always been that the release/addition of Mexico will coincide with the final release of Red Dead Online ALONG WITH a Red Dead Redemption 1 remaster available as an additional full game (at full game price: $59.99). I still believe this is what will happen, but it probably won't be until the end of this year or perhaps as late as the end of next year. With E3 right around the corner, I doubt anything going to happen until maybe Christmas. Another factor... they could be trying to release the PC version at the same time as cross-incentive for current owners to purchase again. Then Take 2 would be doubling their sales from the previous year. So Red Dead Remaster with Mexico to drive quality content, lure in anyone who was a previous fan who isn't one now, get existing fans to of course purchase it for all the story content. Then Red Dead Online inherits all the Mexico content to spin more online content with. Perhaps some Mexico inspired costumes appear online before the actual content. A shrewd business would release the story first, require players to buy it to get access to Mexico, with a delayed Online release to build hype. There's obviously an issue with how to handle people who don't have the new content with people who do in the Online version. It's easier to keep Mexico online on hold until the remastered singleplayer content has been around for one finacial quarter. Then Take 2 can do another bump in sales, similar to what they did with the original sequel and online release timeline. Maybe it's this: Release Remastered Fall 2019 (to hit Christmas sales), Online Mexico in Winter 2020 Release Remastered Spring 2020, Online Mexico in Summer 2020 And the wildcard is Rockstar's often delayed releases messing with Take 2 planning.
