El Penguin Bobo
Truck Hustle, A Revenger's Tragedy, Uncle Vlad (adds to the theory that Vlad is the father of Roman's baby), and Three's A Crowd. iiCriminnaaL

billiejoearmstrong8
I like the Russian references - Crime and Punishment (especially paired with Dimitri's surname being a reference to the protagonist of that novel's surname Raskolnikov), The Master and the Molotov (another nice detail - the author of The Master and the Margarita's name is Mikhail), Ivan the Not So Terrible, Russian Revolution, The Cousins Bellic (reference to The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky if I'm not mistaken) Also Three Leaf Clover, Roman's Sorrow, One Last Thing, A Dish Served Cold, A Revenger's Tragedy, The Snow Storm, Holland Nights and That Special Someone just because they sound cool I like Weekend at Florian's because it makes me think they literally decided to make his new name Bernie just so they could make that reference lol. And last but not least I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots and Your Motorcycle, gotta love it Edited May 9, 2019 by billiejoearmstrong8 Jeansowaty, iiCriminnaaL, Beato_dim and 1 other
Algonquin Assassin
Three Leaf Clover: I love how foreshadowing this is. 4 leaf clovers are considered lucky by the Irish and the fact Michael gets killed is a reference to Niko, Packie and Derrick escaping the bank just barely with their lives. Do You Have Protection?: Normally I'm not a fan of sexual innuendos/puns, but given the context of the mission (and how it introduces weapons into the game) I like this play on words. Holland Nights: Always makes me think of Harlem Nights. I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle: Arnie (The Terminator). Enough said. A Long Way To Fall: Again I love how this pretty much foreshadows exactly what happens when Teddy meets his demise falling off the top of the apartment complex. Have A Heart: I think you get the idea now. santosvagos, billiejoearmstrong8, Cheatz/Trickz and 3 others
CreepShow
Do you have protection was actually the name of a mission in GTA VCS where you had to smack some pimps that were smacking your newly acquired prostitutes.

It's called Got Protection but yeah, pretty much just reusing the same name idea/joke Btw can anyone explain the name "Waste Not Want Knots"? I get that it refers to the phrase "waste not want not", but I don't get how it relates to the mission or how "knots" comes into it. If I were to make a guess, I'd say that the "waste" part is a play on words; Niko and Packie attack an Ancelotti operated "waste" management plant to steal their cash, so with the mission name R* might be mockingly suggesting that the Ancellotis might have been saving up all of that money (waste not) but then they get into a tangle(or a "knot") with NIko and gang and lose the money anyway Of course this explanation may just be bullsh*t so don't take my word for it lol, just wanted to try my hand at explaining this Edited May 11, 2019 by Guest
LazlowsucksiloveslutS
Holland Nights - although I see no connection to Harlem Nights in mission itself. I love the movie. Oh and.. god speed
I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, and Your Motorcycle. Also Bomb Da Base II in multiplayer, a homage to the classic mission from GTA III. I forgot it was a waste management plant. For the knots part it could be that but I also just thought of how Niko and Packie escape by speedboat, and boat speed is measured in "knots" (and that's kind of an important part of the mission since it includes a boat tutorial). So I think we have it. Not a mission name per se but related, I like how if you save the game after Mr and Mrs Bellic instead of saying that mission name on the save it says "In Mourning", nice grim little touch. Eugene H. Krabs
Stuff like Three's a Crowd, Do You Have Protection?, No Love Lost, Rigged to Blow, Undress to Kill, etc. remind me of the pun-filled GTA 2 mission titles, which is why I like them

Pyrrhic
GTA 4 had some of the wittiest mission names, regardless of the fact that many of them are puns/wordplay around movie and pop culture references. The "epic" missions were always named really aptly too and made them feel more meaningful towards the storyline (Russian Revolution, Hostile Negotiation, To Live and Die in Alderney, One Last Thing etc.). You know the ones I'm talking about. I always liked the name of The Snow Storm despite loathing the mission itself. Deconstruction for Beginners is a good one too. As a general rule the longer mission titles were usually the best ones, or the ones that had the best effect. Crime and Punishment is a great one also, as someone mentioned. Fits the mission content perfectly.
