MarshDanni
So I just watched basically all the trailers that Rockstar has put out for the series and I must say the trip was amazing. Seeing and remembering all the excitement, analysis and predictions really makes me nostalgic. GTA III's trailer with the orchestral music was cool and all, but I was too young to remember it when it first came out, but I really believe it was a big then back then. It gets you pumped to play the game that's for sure. GTA Vice City's trailer was set from the first second to tell you you're in Vice City (Miami-esque city). We see helicopters, hear 80's songs, bikes, neon lights, the sun, the beach. All new additions. I remember my older brother saying he was very surprised to see the release date only one year after the release of GTA III. It became his favorite entry in the series. GTA San Andreas's first trailer is the one I remember seeing first when I was a kid. I was blown away with all the stuff it showed. Three cities, bicycles, dual-wielding, planes, tattoos, clothes, everything. I really believe that I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the biggest games of that generation. GTA Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories's trailers were not something that left a lot of impression on me. VCS was better, but not by a whole lot. I guess not a lot of effort went in those since it was marketed at first towards Playstation Portable system. My favorite one was the first trailer for GTA IV. It immediately set up the mood for the whole game. I remember that when I first heard Niko's saying: "Perhaps here, things will be different." I knew that it's probably gonna be worse lol. But in all the trailer left me speechless, the graphics, the music, the city were all a huge thing back then. GTA V's first trailer left a lot to be said IMO. We heard Michael and his classic bitching about his midlife, wannabe gangster again, but kinda don't wanna crisis and that's about it. Trailers after that were much better in design I feel. Guest
To be honest, the only GTA trailer i saw before release was V's, I saw IV's trailer(the first one) much after I played the game. But i like how subtle IV's trailer was, it shows just enough glimpses of the city and atmosphere of the game to get you hyped without giving too much of its secrets away. Niko's iconic dialogue also hints that we're in for some serious sh*t ,I'm sure people who saw the trailer before release would have been crazy hyped As for V i actually have the opposite opinion of yours , I thought the first trailer was the best of the lot, the minute I heard Michael's "Why did I move here" dialogue and the soundtrack kicking in, I was hooked. I've got serious nostalgia for V's first trailer and the official gameplay video, like I mentioned V was the only game where I followed the internet hype before release, so seeing the various videos and forums dissecting stuff in the trailers like, is the guy in the wife beater shirt running from the cops CJ, is the homeless dude Niko etc was crazy lol. Come to think of it, it's never occurred to me to see the trailers of the older games, might just check them out.
TheSantader25
The hype pre V release was insane. I used to watch the trailers every day. I would jump on any news I found. Very nostalgic times for me. iiCriminnaaL, DOUGL4S1, Pink Pineapple and 1 other

DOUGL4S1
This trailer gives me chills every time I watch it: And while not a trailer, this is probably one of the best promotional materials for the series so far: billiejoearmstrong8, MarshDanni and iiCriminnaaL
Lemoyne outlaw
yea gta 5 is the only gta i followed ever since it got announced. i still remember the day that it got announced. and how hyped i was. and on the day the first trailer dropped i was in school. its funny because i really wanted to see it and it came out right as lunch ended. so i watched the trailer. but i was not able to hear sound. so it kind of sucked. but i remember being super hyped just watching the first glimpses of the trailer. it was a lot to take in. when i got home i watched it with the sound and i liked it so much more. i really liked the gta 5 trailers. they were great. i still watch them every now and then and get a lot of nostalgia. its so fun to go back and look at the parts of the map and missions. and all sorts of theories and ideas we had. and here we are now having played the crap out of this game. we know everything. i cant wait until the next rockstar game to be announced and we can start the same thing over again. and while im talking about rockstar titles i might as well bring up red dead redemption 2. i know its not gta but its still a rockstar game that had similar marketing to gta 5. and i remember the teasers we got before the announcement. and then the big reveal. so much hype. and then we got the trailer. it was a very good trailer. but i think i liked gta 5s first trailer better. and even though this game is newer its still fun to go back and re watch all the red dead redemption 2 trailers. Algonquin Assassin
I like GTA V's trailers more than the game itself. I've said it before, but the launch trailer just has something about it I like. I guess when I thought Michael was going to be the only protagonist it seemed more bad arse, He looked better too IMO. Also GTA IV's launch trailer. Oh man.... Still gives me chills with the time lapse and minimal dialogue making it feel way more mysterious. Especially V for me. You already know I liked V but there's no denying that the game wasn't as good as the trailers. It just looked like a GOD pre release. It's a shame it wasn't one. I wonder what would happen if R* released it for current generation as the main platform. Emmi
IV's debut trailer still gives me goosebumps to date. SA's trailers were also great. iiCriminnaaL, Algonquin Assassin and MarshDanni

I have to admit back in 2011 when I first heard Michael say "Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather" that still gives me goosebumps. I remember when people thought he was Tommy and the guy running from the cops was CJ lol. Good times. billiejoearmstrong8, iiCriminnaaL and TheSantader25
Emmi
V's debut trailer is/showed a different game, I'm sorry but I cannot say it often enough. iiCriminnaaL, Algonquin Assassin, billiejoearmstrong8 and 1 other
billiejoearmstrong8
IV's first trailer is so great. It really set out how different it was going to be, just think of seeing that after the far more light hearted and cartoonish by comparison San Andreas and LCS/VCS. The serious tone, the incredibly impressive graphics, with music from and images inspired by Pruit Igoe from the experimental film Koyaanisqatsi. Talk about taking things to another level! And yeah the first V trailer had a different feeling to what the game turned out to be. It had Tony Soprano/a retired Tommy Vercetti type character vibes, sadly not to be realised in the game itself.
