Most and least humorous GTA games

III seems pretty serious until the radio folks or pedestrians open their mouths. You could say the same about most of the games to an extent, though.

The Stories games and V appeared to make the most deliberate attempts at humor in the storyline, but that stuff tended to be hit-and-miss. V tried way, way too hard, while the Stories humor just awkwardly fell flat at times, but was kinda more tolerable.

I'd say San Andreas nailed the amusement factor the best. It managed to be consistently naturally funny, and to this day it's the only voice acted game I've ever heard of where fattening up the main character changes his lines and the peds' reactions to him. Which, of course, are comedy gold too.

Rdr2 did it too i think

I don't think RDR2 tried hard to be funny though, it knew when to be serious and when not to be

Honestly i think GTA 3 has the least amount of humor atleast in the main story, nothing really to make me laugh

Fair enough, all rockstar games tend to have a lot of humor outside of the story and sometimes even in the story itself

Most humorous is proabably San Andreas or IV. Vice City is up there.

GTA V has some great dialogue but the humor is the drizzling sh*ts.

TLAD least.

Damn you could be right. Billy Grey and the infamous Stubbs scene did give me some laughs though.

Id say Vice City and San Andreas most

GTA3 least (at least story wise)

I actually think GTA III is funnier than most people give it credit for in this thread. The characters in the missions you meet aren't particularly funny, I guess, probably in part of Claude being silent so there's no real jokes to bounce off. Of the story characters you meet, I guess Maria or Toni would be the funniest, but even then these characters get better moments in later titles, like San Andreas and Liberty City Stories.

No, I think the humor mostly comes from the world. From the weird food sounds that you hear when you're running people over, the pedestrian dialogues themselves, how ugly everybody is around you, the animations, I think the limitations of the game also lends itself well to the humor. It's not super over the top like the later games would get, but I still think there's lots of laughs to be found here.

San Andreas is the most humorous GTA imo, NPCs are constantly talking nonsense, radio commercials, missions and so on.

The least i think it's either V (too forced, in your face kind of stuff) or LCS (just bland in general).

GTA: San Andreas in general was hilarious. Especially the pedestrian dialogue, which still somehow felt grounded. Did it have some childishly bad adult jokes that could've been cut? Yeah. But the humor wasn't just adult jokes but actual social commentary.

GTA 3 was probably the least funniest, probably because the series was trying to figure out where it wanted to go. I kinda like it, though. The game's atmosphere is dark/tragic, and whatever humor in the game tends to be sardonic.

GTA 5 tried way too hard. Maybe we grew out of it, idk. I would compare GTA 5's humor to those later era Simpsons or Family Guy episodes. Like, ugh.
