Is there a way to turn off the mission Music?

Is there a way to turn off the mission Music? Drives me up the wall. Radio OFF but yet this moronic and extremely irritating music plays during missions.  Turning ON the radio does exchange it for another NOISE, but that defeats the purpose.

Settings > Audio > Music volume: move cursor to the left

Well that sucks. I don't mind the radio on when i do want music, but forcing me to turn off the music volume just to stop the magical mission music screws that up.
