Ballas King

Favorite mission(s) in GTA SA?

Recommended Posts

Ballas King

My personal top 5:

1. The Meat Business - 10/10 (my most favorite GTA series mission ever, pure action, Rosenberg was by far my most fav character in VC and its amazing to work with him, plus unlike Tommy who always belittle him, CJ actually nows his worth, and its pure classic mafiosi action, everything i enjoy the most about the GTA series, what I enjoyed about 3 and VC all summed up here, no stupid stuffs like prolonged driving that have become one of the biggest criticism for SA, the enemies come with all sorts of deadly eps chainsaws-m4s-shotgun, etc, Johnny's heart attack and the hanging meats, just perfect, my most fav mission from the game, I ❤️ it so much i dont find it justice comparing).

2. Black Project - 9.5/10 (A great mission, I love the Truth, just pure action against the military at the base and then finally getting the jet pack, actually its no less than 1 , the only cut off is is a cut off is that the foes are stale, the same wep M4 , the same model, thats the only thing, otherwise again this is another perfect mission).

3. Saint Mark's Bistro - 9/10 (I havent played 3 since 2008 and played LCS only for a short time in 2007 just that year, but SA which I have been playing since 2006 to present has given me the opportunity to revisit a tiny section of LC time and time again, just great mafiosi action once again and the only mission I enjoy flying).

4.  Homecoming - 8.5/10 (its great to be back at LS , awesome discussion between Sweet and CJ after CJ greets Sweet, a discussion that divides the perceptions of many fans of the game those who prefers the new luxurious CJ and the old gang banging CJ, regardless I personally prefer both , the new wealth plus becoming the leader of SA's most powerful gang the GSF, awesome gun fight action, gang war returns that is still reclaiming Ganton the heart of the game is different from any others, I love nothing more than fighting Ballas my fav gang and  this mission makes it all the more amazing)..

5. The Da Nang Thang -  8/10 (This mission was just epic. First shoot down Da Nangs with the minigun from heli, then swim to the ship and strategically fight the swarm of Da Nangs to free the refugees and  get to their boss Snakehead , who challenges  me to a fun sword fight. This mission was just amazing and perfection).

Well there are many other missions I enjoy but this 5 are my personal top 5. Am sure others have their own favorites . What I love most about SA is that it has more diversity, especially with its missions than any other games :) .

For me it's:

1. The Da Nang Thang - mostly because I love shoot-outs on ships :D

2. Ice Cold Killa - while it may not be anything big, it was very climatic going down inside the club with "Hood Took Me Under" playing.

3. Reuniting the Families - great Drive-By mission centered 'round the 'hood.

4. Just Business - another action packed mission, very climatic and that epic explosion by the end ❤️

5. Pier 69 - This marks the middle of the story for me. While I think the targets should have been swapped, I enjoyed taking on the Rifa and Ballas together.

Mine would be:-
1. Vertical Bird- Found this mission annoying to the core but I kinda started liking it and now I love it!.

2. Just Business- One of the best missions with lots of action. Pure class.

3. Los Desparados- "Those Vagos man, I'm gonna cut those cacos".

4. Reuniting the Families- Fun mission.

5. The Black Project- Because its given by my favorite character in entire GTA universe "The Truth" :D

Honorable mentions would be:-

1. Saint Mark's Bistro.

2. Stowaway.

3. End of the Line.

4. The Da Nang Thang.

My top.

1. Drive Thru: Some random gang shootout that I enjoyed. Really gives you a look on how deep the beef is between GSF and Ballas. While Smoke fat ass eats all the food and at the same time everyone else are tryna bust caps. Oh and how could forget??....

2. Drive by: Again some more drive by shooting on those punk Ballas, Ryder complaning about CJ's driving, lol.

3. Ceaser Vialpando: My favorite out of the many LS missions. Really love the lowrider elements introduced in these missions with Ceaser. Also the fact that I own a couple of bombs myself. Still a work in progress though with a friends 48 fleetline in the garage.

4. Wrong side of the tracks: Years ago I hated this mission itself but during recent times this mission speaks for it self, lol.

5. Just Business: That Terminator reference at the end always looks badass. Along with all the shootout action between the mafia.

6. Reuniting the familes: Action packed mission with all the Grove OG's.

7. Are you going to San Ferrio?: Buring sh*t loads of weed plants before the 5-0 arrives, while Carl himself seems to already be blown outta his mind after inhaling all that reefer, lol. Then just calmly drive to SF with truth while CJ complains to him "Man I'm seeing patterns all over the place!!?

8. Zeros missions can kindly f*ck off even after all these years. Thank you very much :turn:

9. Amphibious Assult: Yeah you loose all your weapons, but at least the missions itself is pretty neat. Get the chance to fight some old dude named the dragon head...or something like that then have a dual with a katana.

10. Black project: Pretty awesome mission that introduces the player the the Jetpack.

11. Homecoming: Only of the fact that after all CJ has done for himself Sweet immediately sh*ts on CJ for forgetting about the hood, lol.

Sweet: New clothes???? N*GGA WHAT THE F*CK IS THIS BULLSH*T??????

*After completing the mission*

CJ: But there's nothing here no more :/......

Sweet: ROME WASN'T BUILD IN A DAY N*GGUUUHH!

Lmaoo...Sweets stubborn ass always gets me

12: Riot: The mission itself was like a spot on representation of what the 92 LA riots were. Just wish R* included a little more details, but it was done perfectly nonetheless. Really took me back on how sh*t was popping in our area.

and 13. End of the line: After the Journey CJ has gone through it's time to look for Smoke, take out the crack factory,  kill Smoke, and chase Tenpenny through the hoods of LS leading up to his death in Grove Street. What grate mission variety. I would definitely list more but this post is already long enough :turn:

The problem with early missions like Drive Thru and Drive By is that I am forced to be driver while others have all the fun shooting at Ballas. Tagging up the turf and cleaning the hood were ok but can be done with fists/melee weps (I really enjoy spraying the Ballas at tagging up the turf though) , but mission wise I personally dont require to use guns until Sweet's Girl (Nines and AK's just training). Well the early missions were ok, but drive thru and drive by just hate being driver while others have the fun.... Btw Reuniting the Family, Grooves 4 Life and End of The Lines are honorable mentions. Those 3 missions were epic + many other great mission. Off topic, top 5 worst missions, least worst to worst of them all:

5. Local Liquor Store

4. Noe

3. Freefall (hardest imo, but not worst, the plane shoot out is enjoyable)

2. Supply Lines

1. Life's a Beach  (i rarely succeeded in the dance, mostly used the alternate way, hate having to sacrifice a homie 😢 , despite that its hard taking the vulnerable van while being chased, worst SA mission ever imo)

Regardless SA is a great game XD !

Good, I haven't responded to this thread yet.. Thanks for making this topic, @wfank.

The order in which I list the missions isn't indicative of anything, though the missions I mention first I like a little bit more than the latter ones.

  1. Are you going to San Fierro?
This is probably my favourite mission. Starts with an unusual activity - burning the hemp - and then you get to drive the Mothership to San Fierro. I love the unique bonkers vehicles like that, so for me it was a great experience when I did it the first time. And then the old hippy going on and on about random things, how cool is that? And to top it off - you are going to a new, huge part of the map that you've never been to before, and it's that overwhelming feeling of having so many more places and streets to explore, activities to try etc.

  2. Black Project
I ranked this second because this mission is a pretty damn good one. First of all, it's a hilarious parody of Half Life. Then you have a hippy dropping you off at an army base telling to steal a $60 mln project. I've always wanted to enter Area 69 and never did because of the wanted level, so this was my chance. And then the whole mission is designed really well, there are a lot of aspects to it - and the interior is like a maze! Going up the launch shaft reminded me of the old school games where you usually fight the boss in one huge room like that. And let's not forget the aliens announcement on the tannoy.

  3. Green Sabre
Again, I was absolutely ecstatic when CRASH dropped CJ off in the Angel Pine. This was the most amazing moment of the game. "Middle of f*cking nowhere". It literally felt like a new GTA within another one that you had for free when you bought the game. Took me a while to memorise the map and learn how to get to LS. But that feeling of being lost in a vast unexplored land was great.

  4. Monster
Again, you're thrown into an unknown exciting land to explore. Such a shame R* don't do this approach any more.

  5. Lure
Countryside race in a 4*4, what's not to love? I used to replay this mission over and over just for the fun of it.

  6. Local Liqueur Store
    Another offroad countryside chase, awesome.

  7. Toreno's last flight
I love Toreno. The mission was challenging, had action in it, and racing and shooting - and then that encounter at the Terra Robada ranch. Amazing story writing.

  8. Interdiction
Toreno's monologues are priceless. I loved the mission, but also how there was not a soul around you as you were coming back. It was eerie and scary.

  9. Green Goo
"They will call this year zero!" A nice addition to the earlier tannoy announcement about the aliens. Myths were a great part of SA.

  10. Don Peyote
Again, that feeling of being in a middle of a huge desert, unexplored, lost - great.

  11. Cop Wheels
I just loved the mission and all small unusual animations like peeing or parking the bike on a lorry.

  12. High Noon
The Ghost Town was a nice setting for this mission. Plus you get to kill Tenpenny's Polish lapdog.

Great List, tbh ther than Local Liqueur Store and Toreno's last flight,, I enjoy everyone of the missions you listed. Best Catalina countryside missions imo are small town bank rob and against all odds. Are you going to San Ferrio i enjoy most for Truth's company, and cool drive. I love all Truth missions. Sad no one mentioned Body Harvest yet. One of the best cut scene (lol Tenpenny actually treats CJ like a friend, power of the green XD), also amazing shoot out against the armed farmers and using the goriest vehicle in the game to shred off their meat. Just amazing, Truth, Wooze, Sweet and Ken are the best bosses :) !

My top 3

1) Breaking the Bank at Caligula's- Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned already. I love heist/robbery themed missions,so this was a no brainer for my top pick. I loved how epic in scope and elaborate the mission was, At the time I thought nothing would top VC's The Job for me but this one blew me away

2) Black Project- Another mission that felt very heist-y, infiltrating a secret military base to steal a 60 million dollar jetpack was fun as hell.

3) The Da Nang Thang- Ship based shootouts are always fun,and the swordfight with Snakehead at the end was cool

1. Supply Lines

Honestly, I used to hate this mission. Especially the PS2 version where the fuel tank is f*cked up.

But then I grew liking in this mission by playing the PC version, it's actually really fun to play and the good thing is I can replay similar mission by doing Beefy Baron.

2. Black Project

Jetpack, M4s, entering Military headquarters without permission, what more to offer? This is like 90s action movies packed into one.

In realism and storyline aspects, this mission had to be the weakest, though.

3. Reuniting the Families

Having to reunite with your homies is the nicest thing ever. But fighting against corrupt SWAT, that's a pretty big deal too.

4. Burning Desire

Burning stuff up is one of my favourite thing to do (in videogames, of course.)

5. Pier 69

Nothing is more satisfying than killing a rodent-smelled Mexican like T-Bone Mendez. Also cool speedboat chase between Ryder and CJ. (shame there's no proper cutscene or dialogue for this.)

6. Doberman

Introduces one of the core and my favourite feature in the game.

7. Are you going to San Fierro

Having fresh weed burning in a Sunday morning is absolutely astoneishing.

Same here with Supply Lines, used to find it terribly annoying, but now a days pass it easy, just control the RC well and aim properly its done. Still wont be among my favs, but I give it an ok. Pier 69 I have mixed feelings. Quoting myself from another post "Fact is I love this ultra action packed mission., and even though I could have just sniped Ryder I just love the boat chase. But the thing is Ryder I always like him, he was CJ's childhood friend, his betrayal to me was more shocking than Smoke, even though Smoke was nicer, Ryder was always up for action for GSF and unlike Smoke would fight Ballas. His betrayal was so abrupt as was his death, and he barely has any dialogues left. But to me he will always be the coolest hommie ever. R.I.P SA legend Ryder" !

I typically love all the gunshot missions when you go straight to the goal, I don't have the complete list in mind but Breaking the bank at Caligula's is my favorite, some others are:

-Black project

-Gray imports

-House party

-Just business

-Marco's bistro

-Pier 69

-Reuniting the families

-The Da Nang thang

I probably forgot many others.

Mr Zedd

Several missions in the first part of the story involving gsf members and their conversations which provides a lot of insight into their relationships, loved it

Badlands due to the first time of exploring the secluded location away from the city with gorgeous views. I was also surprised to find out that CJ was stripped of all weapons. At first i thought this was a glitch or something, until i realised it was part of the narrative, making it more believable.

The desert missions introducing mike toreno and all the exchanges between him and cj, still makes me laugh, also flying planes in the vast open deserts is an unforgettable experience, oh and how can i not love the introduction of jetpack, one of the best surprises in the game

Old-gen/original and current-gen I presume. An update to GTA Online added a jetpack, but the San Andreas jetpack was better.

Saint Mark's Bistro is my favorite mission just because it was fun to try to explore the snowy Liberty City.

I love all the missions in this game. So fun and varied. The game knows when to drop what type of mission. All designed so well. My favorites are:

-House Party

-Just Business

-Reuniting the Family

-The Green Sabre

-Stowaway

-Black Project

-End of The Line

-Pier 69

-Ice cold killa

-Body Harvest

-Breaking the bank at Caligula's

-Saint Mark's Bistro

Well you cant explore the place tho, you just drive in a taxi on the cut scene and then engage in the battle in the closed environment. But yes amazing mission, brought back fond memories of gta 3. But this mission is legendary, you can say that it alone (not counting gta 1) generated the possibility of a game combining the maps of lc, vc and sa in 3D era for years since 2004. This mission was the closest it got to that happening "in 3D age". I wish if they do a GTA 6, they use the GTA 1 style using all lc, vc, sa progressing from one to the next just like in old times, just with hd version and without the crappy top down view.

I see that a lot of people love Breaking the bank at Caligula's,so do I but I kinda consider it a bit overrated, but thats entirely just me xd.

Updating list to top 10 favorites:

1. The Meat business

2. Back project

3. Saint Mark's Bistro

4. End of The Lines

5. Reuniting the Family

6. Home Invasion

7. The Da Nang Thang

8. Homecoming

9. Pier 69

10. High Noon.

Least favorites:

10: Puncture Wounds (frustrating and always hate women targets)

9. Back to school (by far the most difficult stuff for me to do 100%,just impossible fter burn n lap and alley oop is by far the hardest task ever for me )

8. NRG-500 Challenge (a side mission, still just makes me tear my hair)

7. Robbing uncle Sam(the forklift stuff is easy but baby sitting Ryder who cant shoot keeps losing health is whats frustrating, would be better if he took boxes and I guarded),

6. Freefall (my hardest main mission, catching the speedy shamal with the ultra slow dodo is near impossible, at least the plane shot out is nice)

5. NOE (easy if you go by water but mistakes happen you still crash fling too low or get blasted b rockets flying too high, not t mention this pathetic mission is nothing but to prove yourself to Torenno hadnt CJ done enough already).

4. Local Liquor Store (always drove me nuts catching those goons with the bitch Catalina)

3. Jizzy: I hate all those tasks. Keeps calling and ordering.....

2. Lifes a Beach (we play gta for cool action not stupid dance offs, and the score requirement is higher than the cesar vialpando one, eas tomiss, but good there is an alernate way i use 90 % time, but I hate sacrificing my homie for that creep Loc)

1. Supply Lines: The stupid rc plane wont even take off, limited fuel, the targets moving, this mission was pure torture. easy to destroy your on plane with explosion.. I despise it like nothing else. My worst mission ever.
