Definitely not. The SP is done and dusted. I am willing to put money on it!

Hope your wrong. I won't be betting against you though. ;(

They've already made a massive amount of money, but they're really missing a huge opportunity by not making more single player DLC. Online will probably not end up being a cash cow like GTAO was. Most of the fans of this game wants single player DLC and would be willing to pay 15-20 bucks for it. I guess the problem is they'd be guaranteed to only pay once in that scenario, whereas with online, they MIGHT pay more than once? I dunno, personally I think story DLC would be the bigger money maker for a game like this. RDR2 is a very story driven gaming experience so you'd think logic would dictate more story content equaling more money. They could probably make four or five DLC story packs for this game and rake in the money without much work, but it would require work so I guess that's why they won't do it.

That being said, if DLC doesn't happen (and with each passing day that's looking more and more likely), I'm okay. We got a great story and a very full and fun gaming experience. It wasn't a half finished product like so many other games nowadays (such as GTA V), so I'm happy about that at least.

Thing is, I think you could make the same statement about GTAIV.

They made The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, both of which were excellent in their own way (although obviously very different)…….and they didn't sell well at all. They weren't big money makers for the company.

Now obviously GTAO was insanely profitable for them - so they decided to try it again with RDRO, and it seems like it's going very badly.

But if that continues to be the case, and they abandon further development, it would seem to me more likely that they move those resources to quicker development of whatever their next game is going to be. Because each new game release is a billion dollar event for Rockstar, so if they can move that forward by even a few months, then it's going to be long term better financially than an SP DLC that generates only moderate sales.

And I'm OK with that - the quicker we get a new Rockstar game, the better. Especially if the SP is as great as RDR2.

If all studios came together again in the next instalment of whatever it is they have up their sleeves, they could truly make something incredible! Just look at the impact Red Dead Redemption 2’s world has on this current gen.

Makes me sad we probably won't be seeing SP DLC any time soon.

And I have this horrific thought that at some point, they'll tease an Undead Nightmare 2, just to make it an Online exclusive mode.

I miss when they prioritised single player over sh*tty online. They must know that 80% of people would prefer SP DLC, surely

And how long ago was that, like 10 years?  GTAIV was the last game that had online that got SP DLC.

I would've paid a lot 3 months ago for more content.  Now I wonder if there's going to be anything besides drips of online content.  The only hope is that Rockstar has been so quiet because they're waiting to do a big new addition.  If they don't say anything by E3 though...

So what should we had expected by now?

The soundtrack?

The art book?

An expansion?

More single player updates?

A different online balance by now?

- SP Story DLC announcement

- SP DLC weapons

- SP DLC outfits

- Polish and additions like notifications when events in towns (hangings, etc) are happening, the ability to actually bathe in the massive bathroom at Beecher’s Hope, and a larger payout for stocking the farm wagon

- New bounty targets for SP

- New animal breeds

- Nuevo Paraiso

- The game looking better, not WORSE

I love this game, but knowing how badly it’s been supported post-release, I can’t be f*cked to play it these days.

Redemption 1 had SP DLC

Yes it did. But you said "prioritised", meaning that at one time they treated SP DLC more important than MP DLC. The MP DLC added way more content than the SP DLC did. And you can't count Undead Nightmare since that was a standalone game.

Yes you can, it wasn't initially a standalone game, it was DLC for Red Dead Redemption.

Not sure what your arguement here is exactly.

The problem with GTAIV DLC was that it was poorly timed and released- it was an Xbox Live exclusive, which meant that it was only available for a very small part of the playerbase- and when it was finally released for other platforms ages later, GTA IV was no longer a 'new game' and interest had already declined.

I don't think that's a sound excuse- a well-managed office will be able to manage separate teams dedicated to DLC and active development of future games. It sounds more like a repeat of GTAO, where everything is on fire and all hands on deck are trying to salvage RDO- which probably explains why there's literally no news or long-term roadmap at the moment.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but for all their faults, Ubisoft is actually a great studio in terms of clearly explaining their post-release support plans, and for being able to develop acceptable games simultaneously. It seems that post GTAV, Rockstar can't focus on anything beyond a single game.

I would really love to see new SP content. I did two play throughs, 100% completion, got the trophies I wanted and had a very satisfying experience. RDO is a mess and not my cup of tea, Disappointed they botched it so bad.

I definitely got my money's worth out of the SP.

Would love to see SP DLC, but if it doesn't happen I won't be upset.

There are alot of other games out there ...

I wonder when the next patch is. It's been a while.

Later this month unless it's delayed until the end of Summer.

Middle Class Roadman

I've done three playthoughs in the 6 months it's been out and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. I hadn't played for while but recently started playing again just doing ambient things with John like hunting, free roaming and exploring the world. I still get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

It would be nice if they gave SP more content but it looks unlikely at this stage. I cant even be mad though I still think it's an absolutely outstanding game.

Meh.

I love the game because I'm a big fan of the series but I totally understand why it's not for everyone. Also, the stunning lack of post-release support makes it difficult to attract newcomers. SP has been abandoned (as they do now) and RDO is a rotten mess of a multiplayer.

Things move fast in the industry nowadays and I think Rockstar absolutely failed to realize that. They've basically let their game die without infusing more content in it whatsoever. Lots of competition out there for so little money.

Online is so terrible. It had such potential to be amazing if they did it right by appealing to the single player experience but they just didn’t want to go that way. If they really want to make money add a great SP DLC at fckn $40. Be upfront about what you’re doing. Everyone would buy it. I had to sell my dog TTWO shares

edit: and why the f*ck doesn’t Strawberry have a barbor?

Played Online once, it was boring as hell. I highly doubt there'll be a single story DLC, seeing how Cockstar already led us on with GTA V SP.

Agreed. Most casual gamers have already sold the game and Rockstar knows this, the only causal players still playing it are the ones who play RDO. They are not going to release a SP DLC as it would be a waste for them, it’s online content only
