tonight i was promoting my night club by retrieving supplies that where stolen from my club.

i get them and i was driving them back when a griefer in a akula blew me up.

i respawned and i called for my buzzard and i went into ghost org but he destroyed my buzzard so i fought him off with my homing launcher.

i ran into him again later and got killed.

why do you guys think griefers enjoy attacking us grinders?

Core of game is open world Griefing.  Existed from very beginning.  This is not complicated.

Simplest answer? Grinders are easy targets. Slow large vehicles and an assortment of missilized vehicles make short work of anyone trying to sell their stuff alone.

Are we in another griefing phase on this forum? Might as well, nothing else to talk about.

The answer is I'm just going to be honest we get board and want to kill. I guarantee if you guys tried being a try hard just for a day you would enjoy it way more than being a grinder because all you grinders do is just the same stuff over and over again and I'm not saying if you become a try hard you have to stop grinding I'm just saying that its more fun to be a try hard than a grinder

There's levels of griefers. Those that just go after cargo or people clearly not up for fighting - they're lower levels of griefers. Then you have ones a little higher up, that look for people at least capable of defending themselves. Then the higher tiers that go after tryhards.

Basically around 4:40 of this.

On one hand, cargo griefing will always be a recurring topic around here until R* decides to pinpoint and alter the mechanics of the game that are most abused.

But what "those kind" of players seem to get out of incessant killing, I will never know.

Grinding as in "doing the same thing over and over" is no different of a routine than whatever you do out of boredom. From my experience, it quickly becomes tedious doing nothing else than just the same old killing spree...again, and again, and again, and again, and again.

Hell, the barcode players, the edgy usernames, the spamming, the abuse, the arrogance...literally creating it's very own class of players that have been labelled and separated from the average user. And what's existed for the longest time of GTAO's lifetime were Deathmatches. Actual modes where score would matter, the battlefield and mechanics are configured to be a genuine, balanced player vs. player match.

Why give the effort in freemode in something that's been only a small fraction of all the game's content? There's been a wide variety of designated first-person shooters for years, combat-based stats actually serve a purpose there rather than a shared environment of many different gameplay styles, jumping on the GTA Online bandwagon seemingly because it's a more versatile game? Relying on auto-aim and calling it "skill," finding exploits and calling it even? Being a dick for the sake of being a dick "because it's GTA?"

I don't know what to say about this anymore, really.

Why u dont play deathmatches then?

I wonder why its so hard to find any tryharders in there.

Seriously.  I respect/ fear players with a kd of 1.5 - 2.5 more then these 10+ KD Warriors.  Mostly cannon fodder because their skills are mostly limited to killing level 27 players and abusing game mechanics but getting f*cked in any PvP mode because of their one-dimensional skills and need of superior weapons to kill

I have killed players and I hated it. It sucks. First to shoot wins, plant a bomb at my feet. The games frame rate dips and sh*t just starts hectic and for what? Little kd boost? People start using the same tools. Oppressor, heavy snipers, rolling around etc. People even start looking the same too. Talk about routine, this is the type of sh*t that keeps battle royales around.

Nah, rather be making money by myself. At least you earn something somewhat tangible.

Doesn't tryhards do just the same stuff over and over again also? How many times in a day do you take the easy way out? Rhetorical question btw 😉

Because they are no life losers who get a kick out of attacking people who can't fight back.

Why didn't you do that in IO? A lot safer!

People grief others because they can. The end.

Not much thought to it. It's a videogame where you can attack other players and people take advantage of that to the fullest. Easy target, defenseless, slow-moving or not, blinking red icon = cargo go boom. Just don't take it personal OP.

Personally, I avoid attacking players trying to earn cash (everybody gotta eat) but its the nature of the game whether you agree with the practice or not.

Because they can, because that is what they like to do, and because you are there to do it to.
When grinding and serious money making i always play in a private lobby.
There are also ways to play solo in a public lobby when a public lobby is required.
Griefers can not grief you when you are not there to grief.

I venture into a populated public lobby only when i want to just mess around.
When just goofing off i am much less annoyed by something like a random shooting missiles at me.

Griefers are like Borg. They want to turn you into one of them. Resistance is futile.

Why does it have to be so black and white? Some of us are neither grinders nor griefers, but rather just gamers whose interests are often varied and do not align with two very extreme and opposite ends of the spectrum. I find grinding to be boring and I find griefing to be disgusting. As for myself, there's much more to this game and others than engaging in either of these behaviours; I don't think I'm alone and I don't think I necessarily need to try something such as this for a day to know that I wouldn't enjoy it.

Why do people grief though; that is the question. The answers and reasons possibly differ a lot more than as to why people grind, but regardless of this, there's a saying: 'misery loves company'. Some people simply thrive off of ruining someone else's day/experience/life/whatever because they are miserable themselves and in turn, want others to be as well. The game tolerates and often promotes certain levels of negative and toxic behaviour to an extent; for some, that's all that is needed - they may just be bored and not creative or thoughtful enough to find something else better to do, but many likely do it just because they want/need attention and provoking someone else or trying to make their experience miserable is a great method of obtaining this attention.

My advice: don't give it to them, they want you to get angry and play their game - if you ignore them and refuse to play their game, you deny them of this attention and you will likely be much happier in the long-run. Life's too short to deal with douchebags, but unfortunately the world is full of them. Don't let them get the best of you or change you; know that by not setting out to ruin someone else's experience that you're the more sensible and mature person.

Good luck!

There is nothing personal or sinister about it at all. Some people enjoy killing other players. There are levels of that enjoyment from 0 upwards. Different people have different levels, and also different levels at different times.

Also, nothing about their actions in any way even suggests anything about them as a person in the real world.  Yes, that griefer that killed you 20 times *may* be a bully (or bullied) in real life, but they're more likely to be an average person with an average life with average ups and downs.

If the enablers would simply switch sessions as soon as the salt started to run then they'd be better off, but they won't because ego.
