Skelz0r 0
Hi everyone, I just signed up here but I've been a fan of the series a very long time, with my top favourite game of the franchise being Vice City. I think it's mostly because of its relaxing atmosphere. Last year I completed it for 100% for the first time. Anyway, I've been saving a lot and I'm currently looking for a place to go to as a vacation. Miami has always been one of the places I want to visit, but I can't deny that it's mostly because of the game. I only ever visited the US once before in my life (I'm from Europe) and I went to New York so that's a huge difference. Has anyone of you visited Miami and can you tell me what is it like? Is it a nice place to stay for 1 - 2 weeks? I'm not someone who likes to hang around on a beach all day every day but I do like the feeling/atmosphere of being close to a beach. And I'm sure Miami has a lot more to offer. Feel free to be honest and to ask me anything else you need to know about me :)

TheSantader25 7,224
Yeah it could but unfortunately it's not safe because whenever I go there some dude attacks me with a bunch of empty pizza boxes in his old ass car. I don't know what's his deal. Stay away from that place. Edited April 28, 2019 by TheSantader25
universetwisters 34,226
Honestly only Ocean Drive and the immediate surrounding areas are realistic to Miami in Vice City. Everything else is generic
perennial 1,766
Yeah, Miami IRL didn't have a rushed 9-month development time.
El Penguin Bobo 3,330
@perennial What makes you think it's rushed? The map, yes, it seems rushed, but I'm not sure if you're talking about the entire game since it was made in 9 months.
xSapphirePlayz 197
Even GTA 1's VC was better despite having those greenish roads.

Its empty areas and for example this unfitting parking garage texture in Little Haiti (also no traffic on the Leaf Links bridge for some reason): Spoiler

Yeah, Mainland felt really rushed. Thankfully, there were parking lots with actual textures and interior in VCS.

Actually, back in the day they were throwing up buildings as fast as they could move the steel. Check out the opening credits of Miami Vice between seasons -- so much drug money was pouring into Miami in the 80s that the skyline was literally redeveloped every few months. Well worth a trip to Miami in my opinion... go check out Little Havana and if it's your thing, the trendy areas: Wynwood, the Design District etc. Are you a football fan? Consider going to an Inter Miami game when they debut... even if you will actually have to drive to Fort Lauderdale to see them in action. Of course, don't skip on Miami Beach -- it's the Vice City you know and love but bear in mind -- it's $$$. There's more to it than Ocean Drive, so make sure you explore and get your money's worth. Do it in style and rent a white Countach... send us a postcard.

It's actually surprising how little Downtown Vice City's skyline has changed between the years of 1984 and 1986.
LazlowsucksiloveslutS 371
What the f*ck are you waiting for?! If I had the opportunity Id go like NOW! id get on the first flight. 15 years ago when I was young and dumb I used to subsribe to Miamis visitor bureau and they would send me Miami visitor guides all the way to Easterrn Europe. Maps and everything. Looking at official Miami map I was shocked how real Vice City map was. Even the hospital in South Beach was at exact location. In my teenage years I was seriously in Miami vibe, man. I even looked at Miami real estate, penthouses, nightclubs and stuff. But I never had the opportunity to go. If you need other peoples opinion on whether to go or not to go then you are f*cking dumbass. If I had the opportunity I would get on the first flight. Unless you are scared to die or something.

Lemoyne outlaw 2,644
this is actually the kind of thing i was looking for. we may be going to florida next month. and since we would be close i suggested to go to miami since its vice city. although we will only be there for a few hours i want to see as much of it as i can. so can anyone recommend any good areas that will give me vc vibes? i already know of ocean drive and miami beach. i always kind of liked the mainland area like little havana and downtown. are there any places like those? i was also wondering if they do vice city again and make it much bigger and more detailed. then what places in miami would be parodied and used there? i think it would be cool to go there and then rockstar do vice city again. then i could see buildings or landmarks or other things that i saw in real life. any help is appreciated thanks. Zello 20,224
Been there but I get sick of Florida too quickly and couldn't enjoy it. I'd say stay maybe a week not more than that. You also better know how to speak spanish. Edited November 17, 2019 by Zello
