has rebuilding database (PS4) helped you with GTA online issues?

I've never done rebuilding database until today. I get the occasional hang ups loading, but sometimes game crashes with generic error codes, and recently been getting error joining session a split second after the lobby loads and I see my character about to get out of bed.

I know these issues can be console related, connection related, and Rockstar related.

How long did it take for you to rebuild your database if you've done it? I would've expected it to take at least a few minutes if not significantly longer. But it only took 1 minute. Does that sound normal? I've played a handful of games too with various saved games so it's not like my ps4 is empty. I don't think it really did what it was supposed to do if it was that quick.

But has using this tool helped anyone improve their GTA online experience and lessen waiting times or hangups or errors?

Edit: well after about 8 hours of gameplay I once again got an error just a split second after I see myself appear in my online session. Maybe I'm not the only one? This has only been happening for maybe 5-6 days or so.

Yes, I used to rebuild about once every month/every other month, but lately I've become lazy about it unless I'm experiencing a lot of issues or errors.

It takes mine roughly the same amount of time that it took yours - no more than 5 minutes. I thought it was odd as well at first, but if after rebuilding, you see all of those notifications about system features pop up again, it's done its job.

Think of it kinda like running a disc defragment on your PS4; the changes may not seem instant, but it does help certain things and I do recommend it ever so often. It has seemed to speed things up that normally took more time to process. However, just recently, when the ID change dropped, I was getting all sorts of errors after signing in; my friends list took forever to load, I couldn't send messages on my console (only through mobile) and also could not view anyone's profile. I got two different error messages as well! After rebuilding, all of those problems went away and I didn't get any more of the error messages, so something definitely worked!

Hrrmmmm well I am definitely getting the system feature notifications again, so I guess it worked.

My biggest concern is this error in GTA online almost every time when I join an online session for the first time after my console has been rebooted or been in single player for a prolonged amount of time. No change there. I'll have to write it off as a minor annoyance and hope it goes away on its own.

I will keep an eye out and see if other system errors and issues go away. Alright thanks!

I'm not sure what's been going on lately, but I too get the same error upon signing into online at times; it's just as you describe as well - it loads up, shows me getting out of bed, and then I get the instant "error joining a session" notification and am kicked back to SP.

I haven't been able to fix this from rebuilding; that seems to work better for PSN errors and problems. I've had some issues with my internet lately, which is odd because I've never had them in the past, so I actually thought that was the reason. I think the fact that I'm not alone with having this issue points towards a Rockstar problem; maybe they haven't oiled their hamster wheels lately.

It's definitely annoying but thankfully I'm usually able to connect just fine on the second attempt. Good luck! Let's hope they fix whatever is going on!
