Not disagreeing with you, but apparently the guy who has a good track record with the Game Pass drops is not do reliable outside of that, so who knows. Part me of believes Horizon 5 would still be too good to be true though.

I mean others have said it's coming, but what's being announced next week is what is up for debate now. The Spanish GP leaker definitely hinted it was Horizon 5, but I think he's backtracked a little from that now.

Tom Henderson tweeted that the next round of Xbox to PS games is incoming, so we should expect the rumours about what they are to start flying, but that he doesn't know what they are him self.

Forza games are gonna be prime for it you'd think though. Gears collection as well if that thing ever sees the light of day. Beyond that, I dunno. Halo? That'd be a big, big big big statement, but I could see the MCC going on there one day. Starfield seems to be on the table but not being actively worked on at the moment per the rumours.

Has anything gone as far as hinting towards FH5 though, or did everyone just go off of that screenshot of Amazon having it listed for the 27th? Don't get me wrong, it'd be a massive win for both parties in this, and would help bring life back into the game to tide people over till #6 releases in a year or 2, the latter seeming likely. But then we saw this happen not so long back, where once it was mentioned 4 games were getting ported, suddenly the Internet went mental and every flagship Xbox first party title was to be hitting PS. As I said above, Killer Instinct was the main title I see get mentioned, but there's an absolute ton of bigger games that Microsoft has that could get a port at some point, and we've seen them all mentioned before - Halo MCC, Rare Replay, Fable, Gears, Forza... I don't think it will be Starfield, not yet anyway.

Again, it's fun to see people getting all heated up and suddenly selling their Xbox... Again...

Multiple people have said FH5 is very likely coming at some point, the only real debate seems to be if it's coming in this next wave or will be announced at Gamescom.

I do suspect FH5 PS5 might be this year tbh, for similar reasons I suspect the long rumoured Gears collection might finally drop, but on all platforms. That reason being the next Horizon is likely not far off, and the next Gears has already been announced. I think they could be both multi plat games.

So now this is breaking out from the most reliable people on this stuff, including Tom Henderson: Xbox's Indiana Jones game will be a PC/Xbox timed exclusive, launching on PS5 in the first half of 25. Not confirmed it'll be announced tomorrow at Gamescom, but yea. I suspect this will be the bare minimum for all Bethesda games going forward now.

Just a matter of how long before we see Starfield jump over to the PS5 I reckon. I'd say the first half of next year.

At first I was a bit iffy of Indy being in first person , but the more I watch the more it grows on me.

And now it’s coming to PS5 that’s great. The collector’s edition looks cool too.

Yeah I think it’s only a matter of time for Starfield and probably Hellblade 2 . Have no interest in Avowed , Fable etc so don’t care much about those making the jump (if they do).

Think Indy will work well with the haptics too. The game itself looks pretty promising, definitely be trying it out on Gamepass before deciding whether to buy it or not on the PS5 though.

Starfield I fully expect to hit next year, given that pretty much all other Bethesda games are on/coming to the PS5 anyway. Hellblade 2 would be another good game to port over too, given that it didn't quite blow everyone away as it was hyped up to, so would be decent to open up to a wider audience.

As for Fable, I'm expecting that to stay an Xbox title, along with like Perfect Dark.

I noticed Indiana Jones is up on the PS Store under the just announced tab.

No option to preorder yet of course, but that didn’t take very long lol.

Anyway I was also looking through my Wishlist and boy there are A LOT of games coming out very soon. Concord is today, but unfortunately I just don’t think it’s going to have the staying power. I contemplated getting it, but I think I might skip it.

Multiplayer only games just aren’t really my thing with the exception of Helldivers II.

Anyway Astrobot is only a couple of weeks and I’m really looking forward to that and in October the Until Dawn and Silent Hill 2 remakes are only 4 days apart. Should scratch that Halloween itch just nice.👌

I like how Concord looks. I would buy if it had a single player campaign or something.

Should be free to play.

I am gonna be watching Concord's numbers on Steam later day out of interest... cause I think Concord might be dead in a matter of weeks, if not less.

There's no hype, no interest, and I suspect the up front fee is gonna be a reminder to everyone why F2P is now the only way to go with online PvP games.

The game sounds completely doomed, and to my shock and horror earlier I read it's been in development in some form or another for eight years. Eight f*cking years for a hero arena based PvP shooter. How lol.

Eight years bloody hell, when was the studio founded? Wasn't it around 2018 or so?

I like the Guardians Of The Galaxy esque aesthetic and think it’s interesting how they’re going to incorporate weekly cinematics, but I agree it should have some kind of single player component or co-op at the very least.

It’s probably going to end up like Destruction Allstars which was sound mechanically and looked nice, but was void of any real interest which made it pretty much dead from the outset.

Even worse for Concord is it’s been dropped in the same week as that Black Myth Wukong game which has been pulling massive numbers on Steam/PS5. Talk about unlucky timing.

Them talking about weekly cinematics and stuff like that has me thinking they're in way over their head.

Supporting games as rapidly like that is extremely difficult, there's many reasons developers have adopted the seasons model for online games and that's one of them. And if problems start to rack up? Then your plans go to sh*t and you have to start delaying stuff to fix stuff, or let the problems snowball. Helldivers 2 has had these issues in abundance.

I have a feeling this might be in the context of development reboots and whatnot. Considering on PC you can see the internal game of the name is FWChaos (so FireWalk Chaos, I guess studio name + project name), I have a feeling they might have had a ton of different ideas for it, that then got nuked, re-done, and it became Concord.

It's been out 2 hours so I'm not cashing in my bets just yet... but...

If that doesn't rocket up, and I don't suspect it will, dead in a week might actually happen.

I'm obsessed with it being a $40 game. I don't get it. This review puts it well. Metacritic.

As it stands, however, it is a project that puts the long testing phase it desperately needs behind the payment of an entrance fee, among other things in an undergrowth in which the competition has adopted the free-to-play model for years, running the risk of generating a fall from which it seems difficult to recover.

It went up to 622 concurrents on Steam... then dipped back to about 600.

lol

I don't wish failure on any developer, but this game should never have launched as a B2P title, never. It was sheer stupidity from whoever decided that.

I'd argue it shouldn't have ever launched to begin with, it's the most saturated game genre in the world. Do something else with the world and characters you made.

Well, seems like we're a month away from the reveal of the Pro, if all is to be believed. Also been seeing rumours that no title on the Pro will be allowed on there if it's below 60fps. Apparently a much bigger leap than we saw with the PS4 - PS4 Pro.

I, and I reckon every single developer out there, would be absolutely flabbergasted if Sony somehow enforced a policy where you couldn't say a game was enhanced on the Pro (cause it'll still play ofc) unless it runs at 60fps.

Sony can't enforce that, especially give the CPU upgrades based on the leak specs aren't significant.

Yeah I didn't quite get what it meant in regards to that, but it could possibly just be meaning that that's it's not so much enforceable, but rather what should be expected? Like, they only get the Pro label if they can maintain a standard 60fps.

The "Enhanced on Pro" label thingymabob was leaked a while back and IIRC it was a list of things and you had to do one of them to get the label. 60fps was probably one, can't remember, but things like improved visuals or resolution were also ways to get the label if I remember right.

Yeah, somehow I'd miss the news regarding the list of requirements when Tom published it. Reckoning DS2 will be getting the major treatment at TGS before announcing that it's a title 'best played on the Pro', before then dropping the long awaited news regarding the console itself. I'll be very shocked if there's no Pro news at TGS.

Oh, I didn't realise, lol. I won't be forking out a few hundred quid for one anyway. I do still want a DualSense, though, cba waiting for an upgraded X controller at the moment.

What you people think of the supposed PS5 Pro design?

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSj14V9AjjHJVrG_AozAsc

It almost looks like the PS5 Slim, but Sony added the grills back to the air inlets, like the PS5 Fat has, and these Adidas-like stripes on the sides.

I don't know about you people, but it looks too thin to have such a big increase in power as it's rumored to have, considering the PS5 Slim is hot like a motherf*cker already.

Eh, it is true beefier hardware can be bigger in size, but GPU sizes do shrink pretty quickly.

For example:

960x0.jpg?format=jpg&width=1440

The top card is a 2080 Ti, the second top tier card of the nVidia 2000 series, beaten only by the Titan RTX. The bottom card is the 3070, the top of the mid end range of the nVidia 3000 series. The 3070 is marginally more powerful, despite packing more hardware features like better hardware raytracing support.

Given this will be some specialised hardware in the Pro, it wouldn't be a massive shock if the physical dimensions of it aren't beefed up significantly. The most important thing is cooling, and from the mock up they've clearly done added more intake and exhaust vents. Cooling is something we are a lot, lot better at in computer hardware these days, a f*ck ton of R&D has gone on in recent years. Better knowledge, better fans, better coolers, better layouts, etc.

I know, but the PS5 Slim was just released this last holiday (2023) and it heats just as much as the PS5 Fat, unless Sony kept this huge improvement in cooling for the PS5 Pro only, I can't see it being muuuch more powerful than the previous models, maybe 30-35% at most.
