From what I have heard through an Asian friend it seems to be just that only the PS4 editions of PS2 games released currently available with only one PSP game at launch.

 

I don't think I am gonna renew my subscription when it rounds out this year for the basic tier since the only game I play online is Genshin and that does not require PSPlus to play.

To be honest I don’t get why people on social media are already complaining about the number of games at launch.

 

Sony never said everything was going to be available straight away.

 

Anyway two things that have impressed me so far from what I’ve seen on YouTube.

 

1) Being able to buy classics individually without a PS Plus subscription.

 

2) Trophy support. I guess this will be on a publisher to publisher basis, but it’s cool there’s support for them.

 

My current subscription ends in August, but I’m going all in on the highest tierno matter how much it cost. I want the best of the best. Can’t wait until it’s our turn for the rollout.

I wouldn't mind if they introduce 8k next gen as long as the 60/120fps options remain. I'm fine with 4k/60 or 4k/120 for supported games. I already spent a lot of money this gen just because of the shortage. Wouldn't want the same situation repeating.

How many of the listed games were present at launch? I live in Asia, but I registered back in 2018 with a US account since my country wasn't supported by then. I'm planning to upgrade to Extra only since we don't have video game streaming here in addition to the weak internet.

 

Extra is worth every penny or peso (XD) for me since I'm planning to get it mostly for AAA games. Here's hoping they give us a few months before they refresh titles out of the catalogue. Like a lot of people, I really take my time on finishing the game. It takes me a week to finish most games and almost a month for some.

Yeah, funny story about the PS1 games. The first party PS1 titles on PS Plus so far are PAL versions (50hz), while some other PS1 games are NTSC versions (60hz).

It's just like the PlayStation Classic all over again. Even Nintendo Switch Online allowed players to choose either the NTSC or PAL versions of N64 games. Hope Sony sorts that out sooner than later, and give players an option to play either the NTSC or PAL versions.

Finally!  Been waiting almost a year to play Ratchet so can’t wait for this to ship.  My third time registering on Sony direct and finally got through. I was there first thing and they still ran out out of the console only but I’ll take the bundle, still cheaper than everywhere else, and I got $30 off Ratchet with free shipping so wasn’t too bad.

From my own experience with the PS5 so far Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is one of the best showcases of what it’s capable of.

 

It’s absolutely stunning, silky smooth and just plain fun to play. Also just as a suggestion if you sign up for PS Plus you can also get the 2016 Ratchet & Clank (if you don’t already have it). It was updated to run at 60FPS. Makes a huge difference compared to how it was.

I thought Spidey and TLOU would be the PC no-go's for Sony but it turns out, everything is on the table for PC ports for them, which is great news.

 

Bit surprising that they didn't date Ragnarok in their only official event during the traditional E3 period mind you. Could be saving it for one of the other shows though.

I hope Ragnarok has NG+ at launch. I'm planning to get Forbidden West soon, but I might not be able to shell out more cash for Ragnarok should it come out this year. XD Having NG+ would surely justify the purchase.

I doubt it will honestly. Sony are very formulaic with this stuff these days, they constantly keep NG+ back in order to dish it out as a free update a few months later.

Just to refresh this topic, I've been having a blast playing Ghost of Tsushima DC via PS Plus Extra. That alone is worth $30 for the remainder of my subscription. The graphics look great especially with High Contrast. But, tbh rain graphics look very outdated compared to Infamous Second Son's.

I'm trying to get a hold of Returnal's gameplay. I've been deleting and redownloading it for several times now. Not that it's bad, it's just I was trying out other games as well. I wanted to try out Spiderman MM, but so far the gameplay just didn't attract me unlike Returnal and Control.

Just upgraded my subscription to Deluxe since it literally launched here in Aus today. Only thing is we don’t get the PS3 games, but not too bothered since it’s steaming anyway.

 

Paid the $12 for the upgrade and the remainder for the next couple of months. Awesome list of games.

 

I really want to play Returnal, Demon’s Souls etc since I never got those at launch.

Kinda regret I didn't get Deluxe. We don't have streaming in my country since we have weak internet. But, downloading PS3 remasters like Borderlands Handsome Collection could have added value to it. I always wanted to play Borderlands, but I'm also tryna save for TLOU Part 1, Forbidden West, and GOW Ragnarok for this year.

I've been having a blast playing Demon's Souls for the first time, last night. They said it's excruciatingly difficult. But, it's very satisfying once you master the parry and dodge mechanics. It's hilarious seeing other players die on some supposedly easy spots, though. XD I might delete my character later and go for a Royal build.

I had a go at my first classic. Tekken 2.

 

I’m pretty sure the last time I played that was like 20 years ago. Still a great game.

 

Overall I’m happy with the line up of games. Even if I have a fair few of them that I already bought or I got through the monthly PS Plus games there still a lot I haven’t played.

 

Once I’m done with my playthrough of The Quarry it’s getting my full and undivided attention.

The selection of games on Ps Plus Extra is pretty great for me. As someone who doesn't buy new games that often, I can get a lot out of it - I haven't played Spiderman games, Ghost of Tsushima etc. I imagine it might be less worth it for someone who already owns most/all of 1st party Sony titles. I am probably going to get the Extra tier at least for a few months, but after that I will probably not subscribe for a very long time.

I hope they will continue to bring new classic titles to Premium tier, so far I am not impressed by that. At the very least more 1st party Sony titles should be there.

I too think the classics need work. The selection is ok, but unless you’re an absolute diehard retro gamer or a fan of those specific games you’re probably not going to get a lot out of it. We need some serious heavy hitters like the OG Gran Turismos, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot etc. 

 

Anyway as for everything else l like the variety and mixture of genres. Some of the games I’ve never heard of, but look interesting so might check them out. In saying that I have noticed some minor listing errors with some games that are listed in the catalogue, but only with an option to buy.

So after about a month or so with the new PS Plus I think I might just stick with Extra going forward. 
 

Besides Tekken 2 I haven’t played any of the classic games, but I have some of them anyway due to already buying them on PS3 and Vita. Maybe when they start adding more in the future I might get Deluxe again. For now Extra is the best middle ground IMO.

 

Stray is one of the reasons I wanted to upgrade in the first place as I knew it was going to be added and if Sony can keep adding games of that caliber on launch I can’t wait to see what else is coming.
 

We’re probably a long way off seeing first party stuff on PS Plus on launch, but any high quality indie titles like Stray are welcomed. Never thought I’d enjoy playing as a cat so much lol, but it’s truly a wonderful game for anyone curious about playing it and doesn’t necessarily want to play full price. It’s also getting a physical release too.

On the other hand, I wish APT: Requiem will also be on the PS Catalogue, so is there any news on that? Did they announce Stray's PS Plus Extra inclusion before release? I'm planning to buy GOW:Ragnarok later this year.

Me too! I got my value mostly from GOT and RDR2, and a little bit from Control: Ultimate Ed. Barely touched Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, Returnal, Death Stranding, and SR3.

Miles Morales was the first PS5 game I completed back in 2020.

 

Even though it’s not quite the fuller experience of Spider-man 2018 it’s still a blast. NYC looks great in this version because of the Winter setting.

Yesterday I got the invitation from SONY to buy the PS5 directly from the PS website. Well I bought the digital version + Horizon. Not sure if I will keep the console or sell it with some profit. At the moment stock price +150€ should be possible to sell.

I really don´t like the design and not really into the PS5 games yet. Only game I would play is GTA Online and maybe Ghost of Tsushima, but not sure if it´s worth. Also looking forward to the PS5 Slim, which hopefully will be realeased in 1 or 2 years. Really don´t know what to do.

Horizon and Ghsot of Tsushima alone are worth it. Plus, you'll have tons more with PS Plus Extra. I have lots of games waiting for me now, but employment has gotta come first for me.
