DODI3OG
Walmart would have a huge secret PS5 stockpile... Jesus Christ! PS5 stocks are still running short all the time here in my country. Retailers are offering pre-orders, but they last a moment. These retailers are also offering consoles in bundles ONLY. I've heard choosing bundles instead of a console unit increases the chance of acquisition. But, I don't wanna spend money on video games I don't intend to buy. Also, having these consoles bundled, somehow increases the price at almost $800 or Php 39000, and scalpers offer them at $850-1000 or around Php42000-50000. As much as I want to grab a PS5 ASAP. I don't think it's worth going through the hassle and spending that much cash at this point. TBH, I'm only planning to play GTA Trilogy on it this holiday. But, that can wait. It's either I pay double the price of a PS4 Digital Edition, or I'd be spending money on a headset that's inferior to the one I already have, as well as a camera I can't fully utilize at the moment. I might as well save money for a PS5, 4K HDR TV, and an excellent PS5 headset. If it persists through 2022, I might even consider pre-ordering a PS5 Pro if it exists. Mexicola9302
I would buy a PS5 for 400 something euro, not 850 euro, it would be my first console again after 17 years of PC only gaming. But screw the shortages. I would only buy it for the new Gran Turismo. I will just be patient i guess, or don't buy one. I got 3 gaming computers, i don't really need it, would only need it for GT. There are only a handful of games that are available exclusively on PS5 so you're not missing out on too much at the moment. So far I've only played two PS5 games and multiple PS4 games. You'll get a PS5 from retail eventually and when you do, you'll wonder what the fuss was about.

And TBH, I'm getting bored of replaying GTA 4 for the nth time. I've seen a good PS5 Digital Bundle, which only includes the camera and Pulse 3D. I might get that one and sell the Pulse 3D, as I don't see my Platinum getting replaced anytime soon. All I need is a little bit of luck, then, I'm gonna start investing money on this monitor. It costs almost the same as the PS5 here in my country incl shipping fees. Otherwise, I might invest on this monitor first. Then wait till the 2nd half of 2022 til I get the PS5 if I don't get bored halfway there.... The thing is, we have a lot of TVs at home that I'm willing to sell mine to save up for the monitor I linked, which is 4k, hdr, 60hz. Just right for PS5-PS6 gaming. Tails Prower
Today also marks my 1 year of owning a PS5, a lot of gaming has been done in that time since. Have to say it's been a pretty solid machine for it's first year, no problems or issues with it at all and now that the 1st year is up I guess I'll look at installing an SSD drive soon enough, not this month though as have a big bill of models figures to pay for first... dieseltech20
Have bought 2 of these and passed on the third, wish I could get this lucky with a new GPU. They are easy to get once you buy the first one though. Sony will then send you an invite to buy another one at various times.
Zello
That rumor about a similar gamepass service for Playstation sounds a bit interesting but it's just PS+ and PSnow merged together. The backwards compatibility stuff is really the only reason why I care but I think it'll just be PSnow's library. I really hope they surprise us and give us full backwards compatibility but with Jim Ryan that's unlikely. Rajder

One begs to differ, the whole idea of the 'Spartacus' project is to merge PSNow and Plus but also offer a tier system so if you pay for the higher tier you get more which to me equals full access to back catalogue of PlayStation 1, 2, 3 and 4. If it does not go that way well I'll simple be one of the people that only buys the basic service so I can keep playing Genshin Impact online, once Sony get their official announcement out we'll know exactly what they are offering! MrBreak16
I got the platinium trophy on Astro's Playroom and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in like a week after getting my PS5. Sam2150AD
Yesterday I decided to go and play Astro's Playroom, was a bit apprehensive at first because I was told it's 'just a game that shows off the DualSense Controller'. It is SO much more than that! I've always been a PlayStation fan and so collecting all the artefacts and seeing lots of Easter eggs and nostalgia was so good! Honestly think it's amazing and found myself laughing and enjoying it so much! Rajder and MrBreak16

Jason
Odd one this to me tbh. That's a lot of dosh for a studio whose output is very slow and thus rely a lot on mtx in their games, which is not something Sony typically do. We'll have to see what their plan is with this one but for me I don't think this is the strongest acquisition they could've made IMO. Grichka Bogdanoff
I'd say this is a pretty big news for everyone, not just PlayStation fans. They are going to have freedom over making games multiplatform, they are capable of crafting top tier FPS games, they are in Sony's hand which means they will get properly managed, funding, testing and so on. Let's see what they'll produce. Capcom/Konami next? Or another "surprise" like Bungie? They tend to buy studios close to Sony, wonder who's going to be it...
Mister Pink
Yeah, I'd imagine it's for a few reasons: Xbox has been stealing the limelight with acquisitions. I think this is not only strategic move to have online multiplayer gaming at Sony but also to show that Sony are responding to MS's moves. You had some store in France with a written sign over PS5's saying COD has been bought by Microsoft, think before you buy sort of thing. That's probably an isolated incident but it still makes you think. I was really expecting a response from Sony, I just didn't think it was going to be this quick. And Sony are in a huge amount of debt. Quote According to the Sony Group's most recent financial statement as reported on June 22, 2021, total debt is at $2.09 trillion, with $773.29 billion in long-term debt and $1.32 trillion in current debt. Adjusting for $1.79 trillion in cash-equivalents, the company has a net debt of $305.88 billion. I know most massive corps have this kind of debt but it's also worth considering, given the price the paid for Bungie. Like you said, it seems a bit excessive. But they may expand Bungie and have them work on a competitor for COD. With Battlefield tanking (pardon the pun), this might actually be the right time.. Whatever Bungie does next under Sony's roof is very curious. 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

Jason
Squeenix seem like an obvious one for Sony, they're traditionally very close with them but they may be a bit pricy so they might stick to individual studios? Also reading the quote from Jim Ryan about wanting to build more service games which was a reason they bought Bungie as they were experts is... lol. They, like Ubisoft, are completely clueless when making these online service games. The lessons they learn are completely forgotten in the next game they make. Bungie's shooter gameplay is absolutely fantastic on console and PC though, so I do hope they figure something good out, but I've always felt the Destiny series had a massive "my first loot game" vibe. Great gameplay, sh*te loot systems. I'd love a proper co-op story game or something, Halo 3's campaign is still right up there with the best co-op experiences out there. Grichka Bogdanoff
Hmmm, Factions 2, GT7, Destiny 2, potential new Bungie game, Twisted Metal, maybe that coop game by Guerrilla and maaaaaaaayyyyyyybeeeeee the GoT Legends 2 if it manages to release by then lol I would be extremely mad and disappointed if this means they're shifting more and more towards GaaS sh*t rather than focusing on great single player experiences (with a smaller mp mode releasing alongside) like they've done this past gen. Jason
HZD2 reviewing great, sitting on 89/100 average score which if memory serves was the same score as the first (might've been 88?). Grichka Bogdanoff
Well that exceeded my expectations, was just expecting a mere more of the same but according to reviews and frens who've been playing for the past 2 weeks, it's much more than that. Still, with Elden Ring and Gran Turismo around the corner, I think I'll just wait until all expansions release or so
TwistOfLime21
I assume it’s the same on PS4 but goddamn, Horizon Forbidden West looks absolutely beautiful so far on PS5. The trees and leaves are so crisp, I just assumed I had the sharpness on my TV right up only to find out it was actually pretty low.
