Absolutely no chance GOW will come out in 2021. Wouldn't be surprised to see at least a quarter of the advertised 2021 games get delayed.

 

With no real launch title I'm desperate to play this is an easy wait for me. Happy with the console price. The game prices are obscene, but luckily I very rarely buy games when they launch these days.

Announcing that God of War as a 2021 game is just dirty honestly. There's no way it's out next year, no gameplay, no official title, no nothing.

Yeah, they'll most likely announce a holyday 2021 release date and then delay it to mid 2022 "because they want to offer the best possible experience to their audience".

Horizon Zero West was my only reason for the time being to get a PS5 but now that it’s coming out on PS4 too, I don’t need or even want a PS5 just yet.

Well as it happens I managed to beat the "bots" and got my pre-order in for the digital version so I get mine on launch day so I would say Tails 1 - Spambots 0! 🙃.

 

From what I've read it was even worse for the Xbox S/X which only went live for pre-orders yesterday so I guess everyone's feeling the same there.

 

I guess the only nail of disappointment is the news that most of the PS5 games showcased are coming as PS4 games but I have made my commitments now so I will just be sticking with what I want to buy on PS5..

I gotta say, the launch + 2021 looks mighty impressive for Playstation first-party games:

 

Launch: Spider-man and Demon’s Souls

Q1: Ratchet and Clank 

Q2: Horizon 2

Q3: Gran Turismo 7

Q4: God of War Ragnarok

 

If everything goes as planned they will have at least one big game every quarter. Just as they wanted for this gen. I hope they can make this happen.

I was hoping for Gran Turismo 7 to be released this year, but that's ok.

 

BTW what game(s) are you guys getting who were lucky enough to secure a PS5 at launch? I've been tossing up between Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Assassins Creed Vahalla and COD Black Ops Cold War, but I think I might go with COD.

Yup, they started here like in 9 am. I was lucky somehow to find the last digital on a hour ago and got my preodered.

Demon’s Souls and Cyberpunk for me. Spider-man MM can wait. Those two games will keep me busy all the way through holiday I think.

I got one into the shopping cart but the website crashed. After I did reopen the shop site it was sold out. But that´s okay as I prefer to wait a little and check if there are any problems with the console before buying and I hope for a black version.

The pre-order debacle has been fascinating (for all the wrong reasons).

 

It’s bad enough people were unlucky to miss out due to the surprise without much notice, but now some that have pre-ordered are being told they won’t get it until 2021 with some pre-orders being cancelled outright by certain retailers wtf?

 

My only source of comfort is this mostly seems to be a US and UK thing. I pre-ordered from EB Games Au and keep checking my email everyday to make the status still says it’s coming November 12th!!!!
 

But what a sh*t show. Clearly some retailers were letting pre-orders fly without even really knowing if they had the stock to fulfil them. I feel for anyone who’s been stiffed by this fiasco. Even on the XSX front.

Still don't have a pre order. If I manage to get one at launch cool, if I don't cool I'll pick it up a couple months later. There's not much good stuff coming out tbh. Spiderman and all the other exclusives are coming to PS4 as well aside from faster loading times I don't see much of a difference. 

 

I just want to play NBA 2k21 on PS5.

 

I hope the scalpers are happy. I don't think anybody in their right mind would buy a PS5 from them though.

Yeah.

 

As I said on the previous page I never buy consoles at launch, but I was willing to make an exception this time.

 

As far as exclusives go Gran Turismo 7 has my motor running (no pun intended), but that’s likely a 2021 release now.

 

The launch games selection is pretty good IMO, but I wanted to get a head start before the big AAA develops really stat hooking into things over the next year or so.

 

Regarding scalpers. Only a mad man would pay thousands for a PS5 lol, but I guess if some people are desperate for one they would probably pay for it as crazy as it sounds to the rest of us.

This was to be expected as GameStop willingly took pre-orders above and beyond supply, which is a bit scummy, IMO. I don't like dealing with GameStop and usually only do when there isn't much other choice. On the flip side of that, GameStop didn't know how many consoles are going to be allocated for re-supplies. So, I think that's one reason they take pre-orders, just in case. But now Sony has told retailers the numbers and many of those pre-orders can't be fulfilled until next year.

I need to see that film. I've watched some scenes from it but haven't watched the whole thing. 

 

Also, "luck of the Irish" I think is ironic, lol. 

 

I hope the game-save thing is resolved. We're uncertain if game saves will carry over from PS4 to PS5.  It seems that some games will and some games wont. It will be a bit of a pain if you get Cyberpunk or something go deep in to a game but then have to restart when upgrading. It's not the end of the world though. I try take positive with negative. If it means a fresh, start, it's a fresh start. Nobody is going to mind too much when they are playing on a brand new console anyway.

Highly debatable tbh. By all accounts from devs + achievement data, the amount of people who will replay a single player game is tiny, as in, 5-10% at most, usually it's lower IIRC. Most people don't complete single player games full stop. It is very reasonable to think that anyone starting something like AC Valhalla or Cyberpunk on current gen, shelving the console and replacing it with a next-gen console but are unable to carry their saves over, will not play the game again.

 

It's why I'm getting tetchy about RDO character transfers, I assume they will announce it at some point but if it's not like GTAO transfers where you can transfer your character to other platforms (I'd want PS4 > PC in my case), I will never play RDR2 ever again.

Your not wrong. I'm just trying to keep a positive mindset for those that might be concerned. To clarify, my earlier statement, I meant that some of us will be doing multiple Cyberpunk playthroughs regardless. I was thinking if someone completed the game playing as a Nomad on current gen, might play Street class their next playthrough on next gen. Trying to soften the blow here Jason, work with me! 😛 

 

And for the likes of RDR or GTA transfers, I would be freaked or even my current Skyrim game which I've done me deepest play. 50,000 gold, multiple built houses, armour acquired etc. But some more linear, shorter and more story-driven games, might not be so bad to start fresh.

What is the best TV that'll compliment the PS5 to the fullest? I've been told i need a 4K (obviously) TV with HDR that supports HDMI 2.1

 

Any one have anything to add to that? I'd probably go for a Sony model as that's what my old full HD TV is (from 2009). If there's an amazing TV from another company though i'd happily use that.

I've not looked into my self so I'd recommend you do your own research on it, but everytime I hear about 4k HDR TV's for console gaming the LG C9 comes up. Might be a good place to start.
