Higher Limits - Addon (DYOM 8.1)

Welcome,

 

It is public now. You can download and enjoy the new version of DYOM after 6 years.

 

Features:

  • Actors health system has been updated
  • Vehicles health system has been updated
  • Some new informations in 'Tools' option
  • 31 New Animations
  • New Pickups
  • 1000 Objects limit
  • 500 Objective Limit
  • 200 Actors Limit
  • 1000 Cars Limit
  • 1000 Pickup Limit

 

Known Bug:

 

There is an SD random characters bug. Just use notepad++ to open the file and edit the SD code to any specific you want until it gets fixed. The code was private so I have to face some problems while cracking it.

 

Highly Recommended to use it with V8.1 Addon by SIZZZ.  You can find the topic here.

Through cleo, it is impossible, i think but I am also trying to find a way to do it through cleo because I am encountering some serious lack of variables in the code now so CLEO will be the only way. If possible I will collaborate with you if I have your permission?

Variables are exceeding and limits as well. Well, exceeding limit is not a big issue (since you can go code further in 'external script') part but exceeding of variables is a serious problem so adding additional things in DYOM code is complicated since I had to remove some features.

Sizzz's mod builds on the original Dyom version made by Dutchy and Patrick, Springfield's edits the source code of Dyom.

 

Think of it as adding an accessory for your car versus buying a new one with that accessory altogether.

You should work with @SIZZZ for future versions, rather than having this new version and the addon as different downloads which could simplify things a lot.

 

Also, what's with the sudden release? Did you finally get persmission from Patrick and Dutchy or is this just a "f*ck it, i'll release this" release?

Strike Rate feature and Custom Objects.

 

Since we have custom object feature in Addon so no need for that now.

 

Strike rate allows specific actor(s) to fire rapidly without delays (like real pro players)

Well, I am planning to collaborate with SIZZZ so we can work together and to figure out how to make things convenient and possible rather than leaving impossibles at a place and about the new version. Well, for me, this new version will make things easier for SIZZZ because we have more limitations and more animations in this version which cannot be done in the addon. I have high hopes that this addon and this new version can compete with the people's suggestions.

 

As far as permission is concerned, I think addon is also unacceptable in their perspective since they are fastening their property to their chests. If we just stick together and explain them everything then I believe we have high chances of getting approval again since all are willing to accept the new version even from an unknown person. Besides, their credits are still in v8.2 ^^

Good job with making this. Thing is, if you didn't get official permission from Dutchy and Patrick, this could get shut down real quick. As far as the site's policy go, an unauthorized mod editing could also get you in trouble with the admins. I hope you considered this.

  • 5000 Objects Limit (Happy creating your own new city)

Note: Since there are some new objects, Actors etc.. limits by Rockstar so I suggest you to install Open Limit Adjuster (or any other good adjuster you prefer) to prevent from crashing. Happy designing!

 

I will try to create a system of custom limit so you can edit the limits of Actors, Objects etc.. anytime.

I remember having a conversation with Patrick around the time when DYOM 8.1 was released about the limits of upgrading DYOM to a new version and he told me that the DYOM engine was pretty much at the top of its capabilities and that putting any more strain on the engine would make it unbelievably unstable. So I'm wondering, if that's the case, how did you manage to expand features easily by 2x, 5x and even 10x, putting unimaginable weight onto the DYOM engine without making it ridiculously unstable? Did you test it by making, let's say, a 250 objective mission with 50 objects, 120 cars, 180 actors and 20 pickups? Does it work flawlessly without crashes, freezes or anything? I'd really like to know the answer to that because if it does, I'm wondering why Dutchy and Patrick weren't able to do it?

I remember Springfield saying somewhere in the Lounge that he could extend DYOM's limits at the cost of the increased possibility of crashes. So, with Springfield's V8.2, you can have more than 100 objectives and stuff but it could be subject to crashes. Correct me if I'm wrong - if you didn't actually say that. However, logically it seems that when you exceed DYOM original limits by a considerable amount, crashes become unavoidable.

 

But I'm going to just stick with SIZZZ's add-on for now. It provides all I need. And another reason why I'm not using V8.2 is because it requires players of your mission to have it as well. Why limit the reach of your projects?

Yes, I installed it, but during the start of the mission the game crashes (if there are more then 100 objects)

You are correct. Basically that time I was unmindful about Limit Adjuster. Now since we have the best limit adjusters out there (fastman's and open limit adjuster I would say) so there is no problem now and yes. Prefering SIZZZ version is more great than a new version (even I recommend it) but I remember about like an year ago, I was planning to connect DYOM code with Cleo in order to achieve something new. Animations etc might not work in addon but I am also finding a way to do it since CLEO is more reliable.

Try to use "Open Limit Adjuster" or "Fastman's Limit Adjuster" and send me the mission link with 100+ objects so I can test here.

That's too much! But it's alright, making the gameplay of mission are very long 😄😄
