Tried out the horse races again after just giving it one try months ago.

It wasnt so bad as i thought!

 

Had some hilarious moments from pushing/fighting other players in this races, one must play dirty to it seems since the horses have almost the same speed

It’s so weird that the horses speeds have the same cap.

 

It’s like if on GTAO; no need to buy a Vagner, a X80 or a Deveste Eight, and if you have - screw you because you still won’t go faster than that noob using an Infernus.

And I bought it to create video proof that it's a sh*tty horse. Turns out... they're all the same. Temperement and speed. ALL. THE. SAME.

Slim to none. 

 

I get what R* are trying to do with the offensive/defensive play styles and where we won't be penalised for defending ourselves, but that, a new gun, some new story missions, the inevitable adversary modes and weeks of drip feeding clothing is going to get old really fast.

That is true! But i had to leave my free red arabian for a fox trotter!

 

Now i dont struggle with the stamina, and when you fire from horseback it’s differences how steady aim you get. Feel like im felling off way less vs on this red pony

 

But i agree from a to b it do the job!

But in wars or if you travel mutch over long distances im very happy for spending 950 on a bigger one! 

 

By a mistake i "sold" my red arabian  we have been trough heaven and hell so i wanted to keep her lol

Yeah i would like to see @Rafae S riding this in a horse race! Maby we should arrange a race with people from the forum one day later this spring

 

I picture this red arabian as a noob horse, with a combo of the grizzley outfit with that big ugly hat lol! Not a character like Rafae with his nice outfits. So wrong could we be!

Anyway i like this arabian horse, i didnt changed it out before i reached level 60.

I have the white Arabian and have won one race and was second in the other one, that said I don’t see why the races are weaponised, a race is a race and a fight is a fight.

Only time I can remember there being any sort of consistency was when FAFF, Bikers and I/E all came out one after the other with Cunning Stunts obv being between FAFF and Bikers but I think an exception can be made here. All businesses, building on each other and being more massive than the last etc.

 

And then the great military stretch of updates in 2017 starting with Gunrunning and ending with Doomsday. These two years are about all I can give them for consistency.

 

 

Yep, the the ooh-rah days of 2017 were pretty consistent but it was also when my hope pretty much died for the possibilities for GTAO to be that 'living, breathing world' they originally promised, replaced instead by a perpetual deathmatch with more adversary modes than you could shake a Shark Card at, but at least it took a few years. I see the wafer-thin dripfeed and generic PvP game modes in RDO and already i'm at this stage... and I've only been playing since January.

 

I'm convinced that the environment, modelling and programming teams at R* are world-class but I'm constantly baffled by the design team's decisions... they behave like inexperienced indie-devs, seemingly acting on impulse rather than having a plan. Of course they have a plan going forward - the publisher wouldn't tolerate anything less - but with the way in which they spew stuff out randomly, you'd be forgiven for thinking they just sit around spitballing half-baked, context-devoid ideas while playing Fortnite and then drop their vague, rushed proposals on the programmers and modellers last minute.

 

Giving a 'care package' and slight increase in payouts for game modes I don't enjoy feels like bribery to play weak content. R* can do so much better than this but at this point it really feels like they're not even trying - so I'm sorry, but I have better things to do than grind a game that makes me feel like i'm working a second job.

this situation was while i was trying to get the mvp trophy after winning a race by luck earlier for the challenge. I'm never racing again until they have a non contact option.

It's the stupid catch-up mechanic that's un-necessary to be in horse races.

They want it to be 24/7 deathmatch, constantly getting shot and respawning ..etc

I’m still enjoying playing, I’ve not played any online games before so maybe that has something to do with it.

 

sure it could do with more content but as is I’m still playing every day for several hours at a time.

@LooseCanon I enjoy playing several hours each day as well. I play with friends but sometimes solo too. Stranger Missions and the thrill of the occasional PvP encounter keeps me entertained. Hunting treasure maps and collecting herbs and finishing challenges is what keeps me invested, as well as buying new pamphlets and getting more Ability Cards and playing around with different playstyles.

 

But still, it needs more content. And above all, the bugs has to go. It's really f*cking annoying trying to trigger Stranger Missions and one after the other isn't working. Same with the sudden "Your posse abandoned the mission" mid-mission for no f*cking reason whatsoever. And the disconnects, especially during missions when the timer reaches 1 minute and you get f*cking booted for no reason. All that sh*t brings down the score severely.

 

And, also the fact that R* is trying to keep the game alive by adding Adversary Modes and clothes. They gotta do better.

 

Some good, and lots of bad. But when it's all working it's fun, yeah.

Ridiculously easy to get that stuff, why not give us a small cash bonus or 5 gold? Or even something like the Special Spinner again? Or rare ammo?

Not to be that guy, but if you would have logged in this week and done some PvP or Stranger Missions with the 1.5 Gold multiplier, you would have had your 5 gold bars by now.
