Hello. Can you fix the Jim Fitzgerald TLAD Model. When i joining in GTA 4, then using a Trainer to start mission "No Way Subway (idk what next"  I see old Fitzgerald  model. (not TLAD)

It tell how to spawn Jim and other Custom Model, but their name never appear in the trainer. just model appeared

As I understand it, i need to rename "ig_" instead of "m_y". Then put newchar.ide in the "data" folder. That's right?. And in OpenIV then put new file pc/models/cdimages/componentpeds.img? Or what?

No, You don't have to replace it, u go to optional Files it have Jim Model and Roman's Kidnapper Folder.

The Name are there, One that replace the Beta Jim and the Other Doesn't replace it.

just place in common and that it, it already told u in Install.txt it never tell you to over write the scripts.

Hello Yoshi, i do not normally do a chat in gta forums and my english is not (good) isn't my first language, i am bit late and i just wanted to say that your character mod/fix is very good and well done, this fix/mod is what i waited for years ago. But still, there many and litte things that needed to be fixed/added (updated). Many characters are fixed, but i noticed that there is absent of homeless guy that made appearance in both GTA IV and TBOGT, https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Jerry_Kapowitz Can you make his character TBOGT model appear for GTA IV and vice versa in future updates? Also can you fix Johnny's TLAD Jacked in a cut scene (rb_4b.cut, name in open iv cuts.img) GTA IV mission 'Museum Piece'?

Haven't download the New Updated. you must have download the old update.

The russians/kidnappers would be a bit tougher since the same model is used multiple times in the script, and you'd have to find the right one to replace.

Thanks to B Dawg i made a sco edit on ray5.sco this makes the models on "No Way on the Subway" cutscene switch places.

so now m_y_jim_fitz is on the right side and m_y_gbik_lo_01 is on the left. now you can swap m_y_gbik_lo_01 model with updated Jim model and m_y_jim_fitz is unaffected. so the TLaD "Collector's Item" cutscene is unaffected when playing EFLC as DLC.

I already done it, it's in the Roman's Kidnappers and Jim Fitzgerald it included on the Optional File.

u said that it wont work on DLC mod that's why i did it. any way no issue. i'm using my own method because it doesn't add any extra characters to .IMG files

I always download the latest version, always read changelogs, and i installed in 'Install' text instructions no questions. Because they're only spawn in the GTAIV components.img File not the TLAD and TBOGT components.img Files when i try to put them in, they don't spawn.

UPDATED 3/01/2020

- Elizabeta Torres’ wear Earring in the TLAD Cutscene “Marta Full of Grace” and “The Shifting Weight”.

- Johnny now has his President Tag in the GTAIV Cutscene “Museum Piece” except his In-Game.

- Frame Fixed of Eugene Reaper Get Shot in The Opening Cutscene of TBOGT and get bloodstain when he get shot in GTAIV Cutscene “Three Leaf Clover”.

- I mess up Jim Burnt Face to his clean face in No Way on Subway Mission, It is now fixed.

By the way, I noticed that several converted textures are actually corrupted (with random green, purple and blue parts, as well as some lost quality and changed colors). Some of them apply to Roman, Ray Boccino, Elizabeta, Dimitri, Tony Prince, Jim Fitzgerald ped, and more (most likely to every converted/edited texture, including "Spec" and "Normal" ones, unfortunately).

 

The recommended way to convert textures is (through OpenIV) to:

  • Select the texture, and then go to "Properties".
  • Change the "DXT1/DXT3/DXT5" to "A8R8G8B8" (only for textures that you want to edit or convert. Not necessary for ones you won't touch).
  • Export.

Same applies when you want to import. Make sure that you save it with "A8R8G8B8" (a.k.a. 32-bits).

 

By the way, you can change MipMaps without modifying the texture or exporting it. Simply go to "Properties", and you can choose the number just under "MipMap levels", then click "Ok" and save it.

You don't have to convert Cutscene textures to MipMap 5/6/7/8 by the way, because, as I mentioned before, Cutscene ones fit more with MipMap 1, unlike ingame ones, which should have max MipMap, where some should have 6, some 7, and some 8 (the highest MipMap level available in OpenIV).

Because it most of the Original Texture, normal and spec care pretty unfair for them for give them different scale that i give Original Texture for MipMap 6 and Normal and Spec for Mipmap 5 originally the normal and spec they suppose to be RBBA8888 since openiv didn't have it, I try to match another non-gta mod like TF2 they made Texture Improvement Project, because the cutscene change Mipmap 6 and 5 because of playermodel had high mipmap on ingame and cutscene. also i don't want do this again, I have spend 3 days exhausted and sometime get headache without some sleep and need a break except editing models and texturing.

Well, when I come to think of it, you're right. Since player textures also have max MipMap levels, it doesn't feel out of place to give cutscene textures such MipMap levels as well 👍.

 

As you mentioned, it'll be good to take a break, as changing the MipMap level for every texture is really exhausting. Forgive me for being too hard on that.

 

I hope texture corruptions will be fixed sometime later, though. Last time I checked, it seems like, unfortunately of course, every edited/converted texture has been corrupted (like I explained in my previous post).

 

Thanks for all the work you've done and still doing by the way, I really appreciate it 😉. I've been waiting for such a mod for a long time, and I'm glad this existed.
