2FA Device Reset

hey guys!

i had to reset my iphone and now, my rockstar login in the microsoft authenticator app needs to be updated as well.

problem: that‘s only possible while being logged in to my account (which is not possible with missing 2FA functionality)

 

2 questions:

how can i reach rockstar support without being logged in to my account? do they have a regular email adress?

 

and is there any authentication app that still works after resetting my device?

On iPhone Authenticator contents (google and Microsoft both have the same app available) are backed up only to password-protected iTunes backups, and only restored to the same device. This is by design. On Android ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

 

Rockstar will have to remove it from your account, yeah. They should really provide backup codes for this type of issue but they don't.

the same device part is the only thing i didn't think about.

had to hand over my xs max to apple for them to repair it and ran into this issue on my backup device. 

social club is the only login that i use an app for 2fa, normally i'll just do it the old fashioned sms-way.
really sucks that they don't think of things like getting your device stolen etc

so do you know a way to interact with rockstar without having access to a social club account?

Send an email to "[email protected]" and "[email protected]" with the subject line "Lost Account Access" or something similar. Good luck.

By the sounds of it, when you restore your 10 Smax your codes will come back (if you have an encrypted backup to restore from).

sorry for the late answer, but they actually ended up replacing it completely with a brand new device. thanks @Gaffa for the mail addresses as well. could've came up with them myself i guess
