Joining Secondary Crew/Primary Crew Rank

I am the Crew Leader for my crew. I once joined another crew, and kept it as a secondary. I never made it my primary crew. However, my internal primary crew rank reset to 0 when I joined the second crew. Was this an error, or by design? I've been reluctant to join any other secondary crews since this point.

I believe its by design. Crew rank is not all crews combined, its an amount that you make for a specific crew. You have stuff to unlock when joining a new crew so it gets reset. Your original crew rank should be intact. It has been known though that being in multiple crews can mess up your crew rank.

How do you leave a crew that fizzled out? I am in 3 now, but just want to stay in one of them.

You can change them in your Rockstar Social Club account. Delete what you don't want, assign a primary.

That's the thing, my original crew rank was reset. I only accepted the invite to a new crew (under the Social Club page). I never went in game, and switched over to use it. I have friends that crew hop, and their primary crew rank never changes. I'm wondering if it has something to do with me being the Crew Leader?

Doesn't appear to have changed anything. I left the secondary crew today, but primary crew rank still the same.

 

I was over 200 internal crew rank on the primary when this happened (months ago). I've since reached back to 218. I just didn't want it to happen again.

After leaving 2nd crew have you ever unlinked your social club and relink? This is most likely what R support would tell you to try.

It may not fix right away but sometimes it eventually just fixes itself. My crew rank is over 1000 but one time I was in like 5 crews and it dropped to like 200 something on my primary crew. I ended up leaving all but primary, did the unlink-link thing and eventually it corrected itself.

Idk other than that, wish I could be more helpful, I know how annoying it is.

Just de-linked and relinked. Will see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

How do you de-link and relink? I was in three crews. I was in the primary crew last, and removed the other two on my PC yesterday and my primary crew rank dropped to zero.

You have to go to your settings on Social Club. R gives steps to do it properly but idk if it matters. You are supposed to delink, sign out, shut down game. Then restart game, play a while, shut down game again. Relink and go back online.
