MVP
I'm happy we can finally change them. We have the freedom now and don't have to be stuck with the same name. Time to celebrate. Every name imaginible is taken on PSN. These days if you want to make a new one you have to add numbers or underscores. It's 2019 and it's BS. Plus charging to change your name is just ridiculous and it may not work in certain areas. Better off making a new account with a name you're happy with on PlayStation. I don't see the point of this update if there are bugs. But you get to change it once for free, don't you? Why would you want to keep changing it? AmyStone
The trouble with letting people change their names is that you don't know who some people are any more. I've just deleted a few people from my friends list that I didn't recognise. They are either randoms I only played with once or people I've played with regularly who have just changed their names. I think there are going to be quite a lot of friends being deleted by accident. Edited April 12, 2019 by AmyStone Cratoz and Syrens

At least it shows the former name if you go on peoples profile. The Dedito Gae

Agreed, I only know of one person who has run into issues since changing, but it doesn't seem to be anything critical - it's just almost as if it's treating their new and old names as separate accounts for some odd reason; when they message, apparently it's like they're in a group chat with both names. The next thing Sony needs to do is fix or revamp the "follow" feature. I hate this thing so much! Despite having your settings set to allow only friends to follow, if you delete someone from your friends list, they can still "follow" you until they decide to manually stop themselves or you put them on the "block" list. It's ridiculous, we should be able to disable the ability for anyone to follow us entirely (friend or not), and/or remove the individuals we don't want without having to go through and block them entirely. Ffs, Sony, you've officially joined the 20th century with the name change ability, but perhaps now you should join the 21st and allow us to be more selective about what others can actually see and do in regards to our profiles and accounts.
