theleoncj
Welcome to "DYOM: Stories, Ideas & Projects" This is a place where we SHARE our unfinished missions and stories. Have you got a written story, or a mission idea or something, but you can't bring yourself to actually design the mission and so the whole idea just stays untouched? Why not share it and have another designer do it. Have you started working on a mission-pack, but ran out of ideas and can't finish it?Why not share it and let another designer finish it under your command and influence. Don't throw out ideas.Share them. Do not post short stories and ideas like "how about a mission pack about the army".Instead, upload files of actual scripts / stories / plots and well-constructed ideas from point A to Z. You may use websites like "Storyfire" to write your stories and share them and let others recreate it in a DYOM form. As for the designers, you have to be 100% sure that you will commit to the project and have it done. Once taken and agreed by the one who shared it - you may start your work, others cannot take the project anymore. Do not post single missions with no continuation. Instead, upload files of the unfinished mission-pack/story-line and the finished script/story or at least give an idea of how you want it finished. To avoid spoilers, you may use the SPOILER code, or keep the idea to yourself until someone agrees on taking your project and then revealing it later to the person in private messages. Do not post your unfinished missions to the DYOM website, try using alternative file-sharing websites. As for the designers, you have to be 100% sure that you will commit to the project and have it done. Once taken and agreed by the one who shared it - you may start your work, others cannot take the project anymore. Designers have to be 100% sure that you will commit to the project and have it done. Once a designer shares his project in this topic, you can reply to it and promise the designer to finish it. You cannot start your work on the project until the designer who shared it AGREES that YOU are the RIGHT candidate. For those who have shared it, you have every right to choose which designer is more appealing to you to have your project finished. You have to reply to him in this topic, informing everyone that you chose THAT particular designer. THBP
I'd like to share a mission-pack that I couldn't finish because I've started many others during time. It's called "Identity". I have most of the events in my head, as well as how they're going to happen, soundtracks, etc. The only thing I don't have is time to make them. xD Anyone with a design style close to what the first missions were like can take this project and go on with it. If I could select myself this person, better yet. I'll share the script once we decide who is going to do it. zakarum5835
I'd like if you make a mission pack on Horror Style. I have a lot ideas for a Horror mission pack. You can make all themes but horror, thriller and more. I wish you my best luck.
Jimmy_Leppard
Fantastic topic and idea, bro. Many people here think of me as some guy who decides to make a mission pack and always finishes it, but in reality, I may probably be the guy who dumped most mission pack ideas than any other designer in here. It's just nobody knew about them as those ideas never got to the point where I could start making the missions as the story wasn't complete. RithRake24
In my opinion, this topic should be pinned in the DYOM subforum main page. It's definitely worth being up there. @General Scrotum Maybe this is something you could consider pinning? Maybe you could try one of my missions called "Save Smoke and Ryder" or one of my upcoming missions called "Lost" when it comes out.
