Shade04rek 319
I think what we have of micah is fine, but yeah we just don't have enough explained/shown to make his motive extremely clear, whether it's before the events of the game or during many parts of it. It's the same with Dutch too, many of their decisions just remain a mystery and kind of can come off as bad writing when it's really more of the lack of it, specially when you would assume it'd all be explained better by the end. It kind of does play in to that story theme though, not knowing what is truth or lies, or just not knowing anything, through the lens of Arthur, ect., but again, kinda sucks that micah didn't pull a "rant about his master plan and tragic past" cliche at the end or something before it was all over. I do think Arthur and Micah needed a confrontation and Arthur and Dutch definitely needed a final confrontation. If I were to change it id have option 1 be Arthur going against his moral code and taking revenge on Micah and option 2 be to make sure John gets away. Habr it all be the same then but After the fight with Micah where Dutch steps in have Micah say "come on Dutch let's get the money" but Dutch walks away. After that change instantly to john (like in the first game with jack) because I don't really like the way the tone changes from Arthur's death to Abigail shouting at John Omg yeah I'm annoyed we missed out on this bit. We could have had a small musical moment where we ride to copperhead landing. Also we miss Abigail's reaction to seeing her dead husband walk through the door.

He formed a gang of his own and continued terrorizing people and towns despite the all the gold he had with him in the hideout. Were the Pinkertons OK with his doings as long as they give them Dutch? Maybe, but I doubt they'd have let him slip away with it in an alternative universe, same as they've done to Marston at the end. eh didnt john think ross was going to let him get away if he killed dutch lol
Sentinel Driver 6,075
Micah good in the sense that even though his character displays clear characteristics of a coward who couldn't stand up to Arthur in a fair one on fight, he still seems credible enough to be serious threat. He maybe a selfish coward but he is a dangerous coward

I absolutely love ALL the older GTAs, but it’s hilarious to me when people say things like, “the writing used to be sooo much better”... like REALLY?! In the 3D era, when Rockstar essentially just knocked off as many pop culture references as possible and packaged it all together as a “story”? Lol come on. (Also before anyone gets pissy, Vice City is still to this day my favorite game in the series, I’m not knocking the older games at all, I love them to death. But vehicles for timeless storytelling, they were not lol.) It's nostalgia imho and people always bash the most recent popular game these days. The 3D Era games while very fun had mostly rather shallow one note characters and ridiculous stories. And even RDR1 as great as it was had many caricatures (West dickens, seth, Mexico characters) but somehow Micah (not the best but still not worse than some RDR1 characters) and even Dutch (Wtf) are the badly written characters. That's just silly Edited May 27, 2019 by Journey_95

That's just silly I haven't said anything about Dutch. But Micah is a very badly written character that would of been fine in any other game but sticks out badly in RDR2 because of the good writing around the other characters
