Butcher ignoring me online

I travelled down to Strawberry from the grizzlies with a load of pelts and I can't even speak to the butcher to sell anything. He says things like "I haven't got time for your horse sh*t". I went in the post office after sending my horse away and he says "I'm ignoring you" "I'll pretend you're not here". Pretty infuriating as I have a lot to sell. I have high honour and wasn't wearing a mask/bandana. Anyone else experienced this as there's nothing on Google?

So, I had something similar to this happen to me before, and it seemed to happen if I rode by an ambush (but not cleared it) or maybe ticked off an NPC on the way to the Butcher. The game seemed to think I was in combat the whole time and I was unable to interact with shop owners as a whole.

 

Now, I don't know if this is the case for you but again, sounds similar.

 

It'd sometimes 'fix' itself after I let a random NPC kill me.

 

I did google and reddit the hell out of this cause you're right, couldn't find much of anything that's exactly like you described it.

Reddit did have about 2-3 topics on similar issues which all kind of pointed to getting in combat and dying with one saying simply 'Respawn'

 

Thankfully, pelts don't seem to disappear by default when you die anymore.

Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah I did go past an ambush and didn't clear it. Never got to sell my pelts but I know for future.

This had happened to me 3 or 4 times in Tumbleweed

 

Each time there where Many dead citizens and lawman littering the area.

 

I assumed the game put the shops in a lockdown

 

I also speculated that it was some form of griefing by player. to force this..

 

the other player's that tried to sell ALSO seemed locked out
