muh linucs
After executing the tool I now have two gta_sa.exe files. The exact same filesize and creation date. Is another a leftover from an earlier installation? Edited June 10, 2015 by Binding of Isaac

gamerzworld
Freezing is fine - leave it alone. It just means it's processing a large file. After executing the tool I now have two gta_sa.exe files. The exact same filesize and creation date. Is another a leftover from an earlier installation? With the Steam/digital copies of San Andreas, Rockstar renamed the EXE "gta-sa.exe". The retail version uses "gta_sa.exe". So for for mods like SAMP that look for the retail named EXE and to retain the ability to launch from Steam, the downgrader makes two exact same EXEs just with different names. plsdeletemyprofileN0r0k
would it be possible to make a mac version, or at least give a download with all the files instead of an exe?
mirh
would it be possible to make a mac version, or at least give a download with all the files instead of an exe? Downgrading is useful if you want to play with mods. Mods are windows only (I guess wine + linux is fine too) So what's the point?
Blackbird88
The Mac version is just Windows version with some wrapper. I wouldn't be surprised if downgrading it would work partially. TheticalFlyer97

You can't mod Steam version, but it's not like you can't transform that version into another and that's what we are doing. Please tell me this works with the current version of SA. This works with the current version of Steam. If have the retail there's another downgrader. Ok so I now have to files exactly the same with creation date and memory the same?!? Does the old verson have that Nevada or Nivea immersive gaming intro? What are you talking about? You have plain smooth original vanilla GTA:SA, the best version you can find. clinicalpenguin
would it be possible to make a mac version, or at least give a download with all the files instead of an exe? Ok, so, awesome thing: if you wineskin a windows version of steam (I think paul the tall has one), you can download the newest steam version of San Andreas. After that, all you need to do is put the game files into their own wineskin wrapper using wineskin winery (http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads) and run the downgrade exe as an installation file. That is how you downgrade SA on mac! Good grief it took forever to find the right way to do it and the right downgrader. Thank you gamerzworld! If you have any questions ask me! Finally, here I come SAMP!
