Dead Eye Ability Cards Elimination Game

Recommended Posts

Amy Vinewood

Welcome to the Dead Eye Ability Cards Elimination Game

The object of this is to pick a winner from the different Dead Eye Ability cards available in RDR2 Online

The Rules:

● You add one point (+1) to your favorite Ability Card and subtract two points (-2) which you can split (-1) (-1) for your least favorite(s).

● It isn't allowed to add and subtract from the same Ability Card in one vote.

● You're only responsible for changing the score to reflect your vote, not the person before you.

● You can vote once per day (every 24 hours). You can do it after 21 hours minimum, but if it becomes a habit it will not be allowed.

● When we are down to the last three, you need to vote after 24 hours. Voting earlier than 24 hours is no longer an option at this point.

● Copy and paste the list from the last person before you. This helps out everyone to see what the scores are and we can prevent disinformation from spreading through the game.

● Do not use multiple accounts, this is not allowed and action will be taken if you are found to be doing this.

● Only vote in these games if you have been a forum member for two weeks at least. If the person above you hasn't been a member for at least two weeks, then you should ignore their vote.

● If the person before you votes wrong (not forgetting to write the correct scores, but doesn't vote as the first rule implies), you shall ignore that vote.

● If you are new to this game do as the regulars do. If you disagree; they are right, and you are wrong. Accept that or leave this thread.

● Please show what you voted for in your post, as a example:

Example #1:

1. Option one 38 (-2)

2. Option two 41 (+1)

Or

Example #2:

1. Option one 38

2. Option two 41

-2 Option one

+1 Option two

Good behavior rules - Please Read

● When quoting someone, remove the score from your post (if applicable).

● Avoid adding remarks about the choice you are voting for or against within the "Scoring Rows". Place it below your vote, as this will make it easier for the next person to vote.

● If you have already posted a vote you cannot change that vote and pick something else. Once it's published it's final.

● Opinions outside of the vote are allowed, but this should be done within reason.

● Cheating, manipulating scores and other deceptive attempts to derail the game is not allowed.

● Should you decide to disregard these rules and take matters into your own hands, you may face consequences from the Moderators.

● Trolling or antagonistic behavior will not be tolerated.

● If you think the list needs work or to be changed please make a suggestion, just don't take it upon yourself to change it.

● This is not the appropriate thread to hold a discussion about your disdain for the game, please post that in the other threads currently open.

The List

1. A Moment to Recuperate - 40
2. Focus Fire - 40
3. Paint it Black - 40
4. Quite an Inspiration - 40

Thanks Amy. This should be interesting. If I vote now I'll probably miss a day, so I'll be abstaining until the morning.

1. A Moment to Recuperate - 38 (-2)
2. Focus Fire - 40
3. Paint it Black - 40
4. Quite an Inspiration - 40
5. Slow and Steady - 40
6. Slippery Bastard - 41 (+1)

Moment to Recuperate has got to be the worst card lol

Slippery Bastard is No. 1 in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of Autoaimers using it to do that "Peak-A-Boo" sh*t but it's the only card that works for Freeaimers.

Slippery Bastard +1 - Being able to turn autoaim on and off at will is very powerful, It really confuses people and catches them off guard when you take their ability to autoaim away

Slow And Steady -2 - Because of the nerf, it's not very "steady" anymore

Heroic!

1. A Moment to Recuperate - 32
2. Focus Fire - 40
3. Paint it Black - 39
4. Quite an Inspiration - 40
5. Slow and Steady - 37
6. Slippery Bastard - 45

(+1) Slippery Bastard. Great for passing by people in free mode (if you're not sure they might shoot or not, you can at least disable their auto aim). I also use it in really cluttered maps full of spawnkilling - drink snake oil, turn it on and just run to my sniping/camping spot.

(-1) A Moment to Recuperate. I might be wrong, but isn't this just a flat-out worse version of Quite an Inspiration?

(-1) Paint it Black. The effect it has on shotguns feels a little cheesy to me. Boosts the range so much, that pistols don't have any range advantage against them. Really changes the way they work completely - the spread all focuses in, it's hard to explain.

It also makes some weapons really pretty overpowered at long ranges too. Stuff like the bow turns from a pretty nice powerful weapon, to - well, basically a homing launcher that locks on to players on foot.

giphy.gif

I don't know. I have mixed feelings on it. There's aspects I like, but at the same time - all the other cards can be countered by other cards, whereas in certain situations this one can't.

Honourable (dishonourable?) mention to Slow and Steady. They went overboard nerfing it I think. Before there was a clear purpose for explosive rounds. Now I don't see their point much.

The person voting changes the scores in their post, but it looks like aFinn forgot to add the +1, so you fixed the scores ( :

Current Scores:

1. A Moment to Recuperate - 32
2. Focus Fire - 40
3. Paint it Black - 39
4. Quite an Inspiration - 40
5. Slow and Steady - 37
6. Slippery Bastard - 45

I did forget to add the point, sorry. It's been a while.

Oh how I wish there weren't ability cards in this game. Should be just player skills when it comes to killings.

First time participating in one of these, so please forgive me if i make a mistake.

1. A Moment to Recuperate - 29

2. Focus Fire - 40

3. Paint it Black - 39

4. Quite an Inspiration - 38 (-1)

5. Slow and Steady - 37 (-1)

6. Slippery Bastard - 47 (+1)

(+1) Slippery Bastard - i love activating it while dual wielding shotguns. you run up to them and they start panicking because no lock on, then you just blast their brains out as they try flopping away from you like a fish.

(-1) slow and steady - pretty much useless now. it's barely accurate anymore and you take more damage from body shots

(-1) Quite an Inspiration - who even uses this?

You do not take more damage from body shots while S&S is active. You're thinking of never without one, when the hat comes off

I think Focus Fire and Quite The Inspiration should get a much larger deadeye pool. That or remove deadeye drain on those cards.

Paint It Black (PIB) I'd simply make it so it cannot mark players. It's a sh*tty version of autoaim anyway.

(+1) Slippery Bastard.

(-2) A Moment To Recuperate. Maybe I'm missing something, but just seems like you'd be better off with Quite The Inspiration. That one heals your team members at the same time; whereas this just heals you. Does this do it faster or something? What's the selling point of it? I think getting shot deactivates it too, which I'm pretty sure doesn't happen with the other card.

Could be some strength to it I haven't seen. Haven't toyed with the card much.

I agree with the first thing, but what would be the point of paint it black if it couldn't paint things black?

I don't know what I'd change about it, if anything. Big risk of messing cards up if they change them. Safest thing would probably be to give Slippery Bastard immunity to it. That way you have a counter against people painting you from a mile away, that kind of thing. Then again, which card would counter Slippery Bastard then? I don't know, I am just a helicopter.

Paint It Black (PIB) was literally the first deadeye card I maxed out. It's great for hunting and story missions. However, it doesn't help anyone improve their freeaim skills so I learned how to use Slippery Bastard instead.

This might be true for close range, but if you‘re out of lock on range you can‘t really use it if you‘re not able to freeaim properly at least a bit!

For lock-on range it‘s by far the most effective card imo. You‘ve basically got better accuracy and hip-fire ability than with varmint or any other weapon.

Especially the typical lancaster griefer gets destroyed so easily with a litchfield e.g.

unfortunately marking targets doesn‘t work with scopes. But Rolling block and express ammo + paint it black would be Oppressor MK2 kind of OP. Haha

Only the players using slippery have an advantage over you sometimes, however I marked a lot of slippery-heads with my mausers and just blasted them away while they were approaching. I tell you, this is funny as hell!

Ya I've dealt with many PIB users in Gun Rush. It's just annoying that this card counters Slippery Bastard at all. The true counter to Slippery Bastard is simple. Be a better shot then me.

Like the same kind of annoying as it is for other players when you force freeaim on them? ;)

99% of slippery-bastards use it only for approaching anyway and will pop out of it just before locking-on at you with dual sawn-offs. I don‘t see where being a better shot comes in here.

Lets eliminate the useless cards first.

Edit:

Why do I get the feeling a huge argument is going to erupt over which card is better? Before you get ahead of yourself, you have to remember that its only a game, and to respect other people's opinions.

Just wanted to put that out there as a reminder.

I had I feeling it was going in that direction. It won't. At least it'll stay one sided lol. I'm way over the whole Autoaim vs Freeaim nonsense.
