While there are jerks online, I try to do nice things for others. What nice things have you done for other players?

I donate 3 star animals to others, or fight off griefers.

I commend your efforts of being kind and helping others; it's indeed very rare these days, but I've kinda learnt that most others will either knowingly or unknowingly take advantage of your kindness or just shoot you in the back and immediately leave the session when they've got or done what they want.

Therefore, I personally find it best to just keep my distance and if I see a blip, simply move away, find another suitable location to do whatever it is I want to do, and not engage them at all. That's probably about the nicest I can be in a game like this these days - to give others (and myself) personal space and keep a healthy distance so that I don't have to worry what may or may not happen or waste my time entertaining someone with hidden motives that'll probably just try and shoot (or lasso) me for simply being there, immediately leave the session before I respawn, or think that I want to trade kills and deaths with them over and over again. Tbh, that gets old really quick and why I generally despise public servers.

Cold? Maybe, but I have little interest in devoting my time to entertain others unless I know them already or we've already arranged to meet up and do whatever together.

I'd happily engage with others but right now i'm conditioned to avoid at all costs, even when blue blips appear - though this is not how I hope i'll continue playing.

It'd be great if we could do 'nice' things for other players - offer bowl of stew or a smoke at a camp, buy them a drink at a saloon, etc. Friendly actions that boost a little health or stamina for no reason than just for social interaction that doesn't involve violence.

While i'm sure it sounds boring to many, I'd happily set up a camp on a trail somewhere in a session and spend time dishing out food to passing friendly folk. Might even give their horses a carrot or a brush while they grab some chow and tell me about their day.

That's brilliant.

Most of the NPC riders I pass inform me in one way or another that they're incredibly uninterested in my company and any positive interactions I have with players is passing by eachother at maximum bluedot viewing distance. Your idea would provide a sense of Western Hospitality, if that's what it's called, the thing that I've been led to believe is actually a thing, where people would happily provide a traveller some comfort back in the days when motels weren't a thing.

The nice thing I did was yesterday. I was walking through St. Denis and this guy suddenly got attacked by a girl that had already tried to bait me into a fight. So I shot her through the head. Needed the kills for my daily anyway and Showdowns are a dead mess at my end.

Got stabbed for my troubles.

By the guy I saved. He had his mic on like a retard and he was terribly offended too. Next time I'll shoot both of 'em. f*ck humans.

I guess it's more me wishing we had more friendly interaction to play out an adventure/fantasy rather than yet another action shooter. I'd be okay doing that at a small homestead too if we could occupy them - smoke rising from the chimney might signal that someone inside is prepared to offer food or similar hospitality.

Of course no matter what you'll have certain people that will try to boot down the door and hogtie the occupants

To those players I can only say: Sorry guys but imma have to charge you more for specialist services like that

I am the person trying to help low levels understand the ins and outs of Story Missions (take your time, various methods to approach things, little hidden tips and tricks). Amazing what a little help can do for someone.

I use my Rolling Block, generally used to shoot anyone that gets near me, to help when I notice a group ganging up on one player or a high level spawn killing a low level.

I ALWAYS shoot racists because with Proximity mics you know exactly who it is.

I did help out a low rank a little while back, who'd just started the game.

I was on the train, someone hopped on. We wave. I figured I'd ask if they could help with a daily objective. They do, so in return I helped them out hunting some elk, other stuff, a little advice on what to buy etc.

I wave a lot actually. You'd be surprised how many people don't shoot. You get a couple though.

Yeah, me too. But it's always kinda awkward, as I don't like using the mic very much. So you wave overly enthousiastic, one feet away from eachother, look at eachother stupidly for a bit and then start walking on.

It's like when you're out with friends who brought friends and your friend goes away for a bit and you're left with the friend-of-the-friend, both silently hoping the tier-one friend doesn't take too long.

I am taking it upon myself to explain Ability Cards to frustrated low level players who don't understand why their perfectly placed headshot doesn't work and why they seem to miss half their shots and why someone almost dead managed to kill you with full health. Etc.

So many low levels really have no clue what they are up against! And WE THE COMMUNITY NEED TO HELP THEM!!!

So, I did revive another players horse once.

But.... I was also the one who shot it. Accidental.

Looked wild.

I'm all for helping others.  If you ask my friends, I always put their activities or needs first and mine second. Maybe because it is the way I play the games, I spend my money a bit differently so I always have more $ than them,  IDK.  But I have stopped helping randoms for the most part because of this ^.  The last time I helped a random I had just finished fishing south of Braithway and was heading back to Rhodes to sell. I rode past the panther spawn area and saw a player needing reviving.  I revied the player only to notice a panther was right there and that most likely is what put him down.  I killed the panther(it was a 3 star) and I then put the panther on the other players horse.  When I got on mine and started to ride away that little sh*t shot me in the back of the head.  No good deed goes unpunished.

Yesterday I had 6 hawk feathers, and killed 2 hawks at the same time by chance. Took the 3* unplucked over to a blue dot idling nearby, hope he got it.

Random came to my camp, we killed a couple wolves, gave him the 3* pelt. He hung around, started my posse, ran a mission, gave him a random 3* elk pelt along the way.

I wouldn't be surprised.

I always said that people are mostly friendly in this game, like %85 are not hostile. It was more noticeable back before the proximity blip days but the majority of people simply past rode me.

Theres obviously people who will keep shooting you until you switch sessions, but those are in the minority. People always ignore the 15 people they passed by in favor of the asshole who's camping in the butcher shop.

Revived a player who was downed, think he got shot by a npc.

He then tried to kill me.

Once gave 2 unskinned spoonbills to a player for not shooting me at a saturday.

I always wonder what circuits are fried in those people’s brains.

I wave at anyone and everyone, and often I’m surprised by how friendly some strangers are. I don’t want to be part of the problem either, I want to spread goodwill.. I rarely give out carcasses and stuff though.

But I really agree with what @Coleco said about serving stew and all that. Would be great if we had that, if we could brew a pot of coffee to share at any campfire, or buy people drinks in the saloon. 😊

For now though, I agree with @Rafae S, not shooting first is enough kindness coming from me.

Got off work. Had a beer or two. Riding around Cholla Springs/Rio Bravo doing gang hideouts.

2 guys in a posse together. Low level. Just kinda... Riding around. I decided I shall be their Guardian Angel so I shadowed them for a bit. They had mics. They were very nervous of my intentions but I never got on mic and did nothing aggressive (used binoculars to look instead of sniper scope)

Sure enough when another posse of 3 came to attack I posted up on a hill and did my Guardianing

It was HILARIOUS! About halfway through they realize I'm helping them and don't know what to make of it. But we won!

When we drove off the other posse I rode down to them, got off horse waved and quit session.

Thanks bud.  Stupid R* closed off all avenues to Guarma.  We got out of the map, but we loaded back in the map instead.  Floors me how out of touch R* is with the community to close off something that didnt bother anyone.

We tried, but it was lots of fun anyway. Fishing challenge could've been better, for some reason fish weren't biting . . .

They sky is the limit with this game.  I dont understand why R* wants to screw around and half ass everything.  Want to go to Guarma, sure guys, we will open it up.  Want more horses, sure, we will add some more.  More guns, sure, we can add some more from the time period.  Doesnt seem like they care at all.  Make me the boss and this will be the best game of the decade.

The hard work the Devs do is consistently being undermined by the Corporate people higher up at R* and in the parent company Take 2.

Has to KILL them to put so much work into such a beautiful game and have it hacked apart and handed out bit by bit to drive microtransactions.

You sir are correct.  I would love to talk to the devs and beat corporate with a rubber hose.  Stupid stupid.  Microtransactions has ruined the gaming industry.  Get rid of them.  If the game is great, people will spend money for DLC hand over fist on merit alone.
