what's going on with the mod? I very want to play this game, I wanted to play VCS in the PSP emulator, but I can't configure the controls, something dumb there, I want to play this game, but I can't. well I can to play it in the pcsx2 emulator, but how I checked the psp version graphics more stable in the emulator psp.

I need a serious help with it  also question, is it possible to move the camera in psp games? you know like in pc mouse when playing games.

The Mod has been on hold for some time now guys, last release was in 2018.

you can play the game on the pc itself without any problems

here's how

if you have a descent pc

you have either one of these 2 choices

1- play the PSP version on ppsspp emulator

2- play the PS2 version on pcsx2

to do so you need to have a controller to play the game on these emulators

you can't play them with a keyboard sadly

and get the PSP/PS2 iso of GTA Liberty city Stories/Vice City Stories

if you are going to play normally

i recommend you use the PS2 version

however, if you're going for 100% game completion, i recommend you to use the PSP version

because the PS2 has more and harder side missions than the PSP version

I was going to post the video above. I built my PC in 2010, it's completely outdated for playing new games, but I was able to play both LCS and VCS without any FPS drops or slowdowns, a really fine performance, you just need to know how to set the emulator.

I have low-end PC. GTA VCS PS2 had very much FPS drops. PSP is a different story! No more really high FPS drops, only light FPS drops on some parts of the map. I finished the story (i dunno why on 30.9% of the game there is an story end) without any problems.

You got me wrong, I was able to set PCSX2 in a way that both LCS and VCS run fine, without any FPS drops, even though my pc is old.

How?! For me PCSX2 was running very slow and I didn't knew how to speed it up...

I followed the settings the guy used in this vid:

 

I also used "OpenGL Hardware " in the renderer option, in the video plugin settings. Maybe if your pc is too old it might not make much difference, but to me here, the difference was like, night and day.

For me there is something that i cant explain. Version 1.4.0 (on that outdated site) was working good for me. VCS was running slow but it was "playable". After installing newer version (1.5.0 or higher) GTA was running like sh*t. On my old settings from 1.4.0 it was very bad. Really bad. On whatever settings, game was running criticaly slow. So, I must admit that. I don't know why this happened to me. Newer version should be better... Oh And I have laptop with integrated AMD (processor or graphic card i don't remember).

i didnt realize there was a mod like this even in the works (or at least was?) honestly theres so many convient ways to play this game now, was there any original intended benefits of playing it as a gta san an mod?

It was a project that started 10 years ago. And there's still benefits we put into the mod which you can't get via emulation such as proper KB+M controls, higher res graphics and effects, texture filtering, AA, etc, not to mention we were also remastering most of the textures back to PS2/PC levels, since VCS on PS2 uses near enough the same textures as the PSP version with a few improvements on one side of the map only.

Just a quick question, does this mod have all the mission and the original vcs offer? or is it better if i play the original?

No, and project got abandoned. Best experience is to emulate it on smartphone.

Hi all

Hope it's ok to use this thread. I have downloaded the VCS PC Edition 2018, but it is just a ZIP without any installer. It should run by itself but I got a error on very start up: "VCSPC.DLL has failed to load".

Any clue? I tried the compatibility mode but nothing! The previous build, the 3.0 Blue Hesper downloaded from the MOD homepage runs perfectly (expect the known bugs).

I know the project is dead, I just prefer the PC Edition to the PS2 so I'd like to use it as much as possible.

I'm new to this forum, So I get it....... thats why I always get this 0xc0000005 minidump crash, thats because Rockstar never released the PC version of VCS, am I right ?
