Future Guns Hidden In-game

As we all now know, the LeMat revolver is set to return sometime in April. But what many of you did not know was that the gun was already seen in-game. In the Blackwater sheriff office, there’s a poster advertising the LeMat that’s been there since v1.00. Meaning they were hinting at it at launch. Something even more interesting is there’s another gun with an advert that we cannot own [yet]. In the Annesburg gun store, there’s an advert for the Muhlberg Elephant Gun. Which if you look closely, you will see is infact a Sharps 1874. Known as the ‘Buffalo Rifle’ in Redemption 1.

What this means is not only could the Sharps be returning in the future like the LeMat and Evans have, but it could very well mean that there are other gun posters hidden around the game world detailing guns that are not available to purchase but might be added in the future. In my quick search of the various marked shops around the map, those two were the only ones I found. But there could be more.

There's the old pistol that former slave owner has you retrieve from his abandoned home in singleplayer, I bet Rockstar makes that available as a working weapon at some point. Can't think of any others off the top of my head, but I imagine anything from RDR1 that isn't already in game will show up at some point, like the high power pistol and blunderbuss.

Really hope I'm right about the old pistol though, would love to get some even older weapons in the game not sure what it's based on though, not very knowledgeable about guns.

Very nice find sir.  It would be a kick in the teeth to exclude the Buffalo Rifle.  That was the be all of guns.  It was a reward for achieving rank 100 I believe.  I remember grinding through prestige after prestige to unlock special mounts, only to grind back just to get my trusty Buffalo rifle back in my inventory.

From RDR1

LeMat = Poster in Blackwater
Buffalo Rifle/Sharps 1874 = Rusted out versions found in Arthur's wagon, also stuck in a tree by Bolger Blade

High Power Pistol/FN Model 1903 = Used as icon for the "Pistol" Awards

Others

Remington 1858 New Army = In Micah's hands in early RDR2 promos

Colt Paterson 1836 = Seen on one of the Cigarette Cards

U. S. Johnson Model 1836 = That old flintlock pistol (Seen above)

Of the above, LeMat is obviously coming soon, I have a feeling the Sharps will definitely come back

and the High Power will probably come back later on. The New Army being in the older posters/promos is interesting. I myself am hoping for the Sharps and a Colt 1851 Navy next

Pressure Drop

Dynamite Launcher... Portable gatling gun... Flamethrower...

You might laugh, but if you had told me 5 years ago that GTA would have flying rocket powered cars and bikes with mounted weapons, I would have dismissed you as a lunatic!

What tree in Bolger Glade?

I wouldn’t put much stock in promo artwork, Rockstar has a habit of drawing characters with guns we never get ingame. One only has to look at GTA 5’s promo art for that.

Same with the cigarette cards. The old flintlock is a more realistic proposition though, considering the modelling is already there.

That would be so freaking awesome!

I hope they add that, I was genuinely disappointed it was useless. I wanted to use it!

Go to the church in Bolger Blade, and look towards Shady Belle. You'll kinda see it once to you move towards the trees

The promo work and other ones, yeah, I take those at face value. The New Army would be awesome though, and pair that with a Colt 1851, you'd have all the "must have" (Single Action included) western revolvers.

Add a Remington 1875 to that and you’ll be right

that almost looks like a Gibbs Farquharson rifle. Cheers for th pic

Happy Hunter

Bear traps could be added, as the new proximity mine (or old proximity mine, I guess). I remember there's one you go past that has an animal stuck in it, in some mission. And I think there might have been a random event with people stuck in them.

One thing I saw on a poster which I hope they add is small animal traps. Not a weapon but I'd love these.

The problem is in Online animals you’ve killed despawn at a certain distance. I think around 200 yards. If the servers are overloaded, you can cut distance that in half. I’ve shot bison at range before and watched their corpse despawn in my field of vision as I’m walking towards it. Animals won’t even spawn in the first place unless you’re within a certain distance. Again, I think about 200 yards. About 50 for birds.

You could set the trap, sure. But unless you’re sitting there watching it at close distance, you’ll never catch anything. At which point it begs the question of why not just shoot the bugger if you’re that close.

Nowhere did R8 say it was coming in April. there are 2 more weeks of dripfeed and then GTAO has its DLC so you aint going to see any new DLC update till at least May

R* stated spring and their track record is always to the later period or end of said quarter, Or normally 3 months since last drop which would be around 26th May roughly

Some of you really have a great eye! I'd never notice most of these things.

Sorry if its too Off Topic? but it seemed abit much to create a new thread for this. Just say the word OP and I'll remove it.

This is some other hints I've stumbled upon.

Animal traps

lU8QrDO.jpg

Edit. Also notice Gopher and Otter. New animals?

And properties

gIuK3he.jpg

It's probably common knowlegde to some, but I didn't notice them before in SP before.

Saw them in the Saint Denis train station.

Since it's in SP during a couple different missions, how far off are we from Detonators for our Dynamite? RDO version of sticky bombs in a sense.

Flintlock pistol and a Musket are definitely possibilities, though they'd be...slow, hard to use weapons for sure. The outrage from PVP tryhards would make it all worth i though.

"HOW DARE THIS NEW MUSKET WEAPON NOT OUTCLASS MY OTHER RIFLES! WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG FOR THIS WEAPON! ROCKSTAR SUCCCCKKKKS"

Would be cool, but it would have to be hardwired (well, not really have to, but remote would be... strange). So I’m not sure how it’d work in practice.

Bear in mind that you can currently put down dynamite without lighting the fuse and then trigger it with gunfire, which makes it sort of a sticky too!

DarksunDaFirst

We should get a flintlock rifle eventually, right?  We had one in GTA Online.

How about a Blunderbuss...

Anyone see any indications of these two weapons?  While they don't fit into the time period, they are still historic and would be found in 1899.

I meant as it was in SP, hard wired. I only meant remote as a comparison because you could sit a bit aways from the dynamite 👍👍👍

Speaking of which, makes me wonder how far you can go from the planted dynamite before it despawns, would be kinda cool to have that as a trap you can snipe from outside of the visible blip range, give someone a nice unexpected scare lol. But then it's hard to imagine it not despawning after you get a certain distance away.
