I kind of forgot about it, but now I'm feeling a strange urge to have it again. It'd be nice if they made it really special though - have the shotgun barrel, and make it powerful with a good sound.

It's not a deal breaker for me, mostly because I don't expect the shotgun barrel to work, as it didn't in RDR. But, it really would be amazing if R* went that extra mile.

I guess my expectations are just super low, at the moment all I care is that they give it that cool looking trigger guard like in the pic above lol.

I'm definitely going with blackened steel for my pair.

The precedent with other guns in the game has been for authenticity, so we can only hope.

 

also, god above that pic of the LeMat just reaffirms my love for 19th century firearms. Just gorgeous.

Definitely just blackened steel for me, no engravings, in my off-hand holster. 

 

With my engraved silver and pearl colt in the other holster, they’ll be like my good and evil shoulder angels.

I’d say that’s a fair point from an animation standpoint, but also, more than that I really don’t expect them to make an entirely different ammo type just for one revolver. Ammo types have been static.

Man I haven't played since they added the last pvp mode. Yeah damascening I believe they call it, it would fit right in to the world of rdro!

The calvary style? Heck yes, I agree. It has one in the ad - good sign!!

 

Speaking of the ad, it says “Safe. Quick. Accurate.” So whoever guessed lower damage, high accuracy and speed is probably going to be right. 

 

I’m guessing that the high accuracy will come default too since I don’t expect a long barrel option, that would be weird. (Maybe a short barrel option to make a baby Lemat? Like with the Schofield)

So I know this was the LeMat thread but the title now says 'the funky guns thread' as well so I'm gonna drop this funky gun here.

The one in the middle is the one I'm gonna be talking about.

 

 

It's called a Colt Root 1855 Model .36 Cal.

Revolver rifles were the very early repeating rifles, and even adopted by the U.S. Military (very briefly.)

 

While the one pictured there would be bad ass, I'd prefer a larger caliber model as these went up to .64 Cal which held 5 shots.

They did have a tremendous rate of fire but hella bad reload from what I've read on them. It used cartridges and percussion caps.

Quite dangerous as well, from my understanding. Chain fire was a bitch on most models.

I made a new RDO account just the other day for the LeMat (hope it isn't to high of a level locked weapon when it's released) so I don't clog up my main accts weapon wheel till I get to test the gun out.

I gotta admit, I wasn't originally into the revolvers as much as the pistols, but the longer the wait is, the more I find myself considering buying one when it does finally come out, especially if they integrate the shotgun barrel into it.
