What’s your RDO Daily Routine?

Recommended Posts

Vice Beach

As a solo player, I usually start my session collecting crafting items. Then check the daily objectives and may do a few. After that I’m pretty much just searching for something interesting to do. May do some stranger missions and then some hunting. Most of the time it feels like I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to keep myself entertained. What’s your daily routine?

I start out by refilling ammo at the nearest post office, gunsmith or store. Then I'll go to the nearest salmon or trout location to get a $25 -$50 start on my hunt.

After that I'll head North, either West Grizzlies for Elk, Deer, Buck, Sheep and Wolves, or I'll head over to the North East hoping to pick up a Grizzly, Cougar or Moose. I'll usually alternate those two hunting routes, selling and restocking in either Strawberry or Valentine when I sell at the butcher.

I'll do this until animal spawns drop off, then I'll change session or do some story missions.

I just log on for the daily challenges and a few stranger missions. Depending on my luck, I may or may not get carried away with those.

Also try to rank up at least once a day.

Usually I start by tweaking my current outfit, then head out to hunt. Refilling ammo and repairs have already been done at the end of the previous session. Then I put on a podcast and do my hunting loop, aiming to make $500-1000 depending on how much time I have.

I usually head straight to camp

Fill cores ...ammo and goodies.

Then head to my honey hole in still water creek where I can bang about 60$ in fish in like 15 min..

From there it's always a toss up

I either hunt all around black water/tall trees ..or head into new austin.

If I'm lucky ...I'll get some douche kill me while I'm skinning an animal or my back turned..which then changes all plans to wrecking that guy until either I get bored or he leaves

I wake up, drink some coffee, light up a cig....

Then I brush my horse, pat him a couple of times and give him a sugarcube.  Then I hop on my horse, go downwards

(My camp is near Bachusstation.) Throw my fishig rod in the Dakota river (near the waterfall) When my pockets are full I go shoot some deers and other wild animals

After a succesfull hunting I drink some in a Saloon in Valentine.

Then head back to my camp, drink coffee and light up a cig...

This is my daily routine

I normally start with story missions, typically 'Kill Them' or 'More then one way' for the exp and volumes of npc's to headshot. Maybe even loot.

I'll re-fill between those with the purchase guide. Sometimes get lucky with a PUG and we'll hunt or collect herbs while running the timer.

After that I'll hunt Deer, Wolves, and maybe get a couple ambushes in for a shot at a map as well.

Then spend a while making an outfit or debating if I should spend gold on customizing my gun lol.

I don't play often at all but when I do its mostly for small amounts of time, like not really ever more than 2 hours at a time. This means my routine is kinda short.

- Log in, head to camp to get geared up in some different clothing

- Head to the nearest stranger mission

- Have a drink in the saloon if the mission ends in town

- Head to that little island in the Flat Iron Lake near Clemens' Point in Lemoyne to fish Largemouth Bass and Steelhead Trout

- Sell it off in Rhodes

- Have a drink in the saloon in Rhodes,

- Eat to keep weight

- Log out

For me it has more to do with the fact that I get bored and will end up spending the rest of my night doing something else.

- Log On

- Check my daily challenges

- Try to complete as many as I can

- Do some hunting and homestead looting

- Play either some PVP or Stranger Missions

- Take a break

Rinse and Repeat.

This has been my routine as of late. I find myself playing mostly solo or with 1-2 friends now simply because its more relaxing. Everything becomes too chaotic when I'm playing as part of a larger posse.

A little Hunting, a bit of Story missions,  plenty of Showdown/Spoils, sometimes dealing with "not so great" players (I got a vengeful temper), Chilling at camp (which I always set in in Hennigan's Stead). Daily Challenges, if they're interesting/obtainable ( I don't do the posse ones) & I very much enjoy everything. Except idiot players who love to just shoot obviously unarmed people in some attempt to feel big about themselves. Maybe it's because I can't stand dishonorable cowards, I feel compelled to hunt these players down repeatedly, & empty explosive round after round into them.

1. Story mission

2. Hunt

3. Stranger mission

4. Hunt

5. Story mission

6. Getting bored now (checks daily challenges)

7. Do what I can because some are PvP or you need a certain gun I don't have.

9. Get annoyed with Rockstar because this game should be a lot more fun at this point in time

RDO Life, for me, is simply the down-time between Animal Fat collecting sessions.

Staying fully stocked with explosive ammo at all times is the way of the west.

I pretty much play Red Dead Online while I'm actually focused on something else like listening to a podcast, story, etc. Therefore, my routine is rather random, but it mostly involves:

  • Playing Showdown Series Large.
  • Roaming around Free Mode aimlessly.
  • Hunting Gang Hideouts.
  • Hunting animals.
  • Collecting herbs.
  • Fishing.
  • Stranger missions (when they work).
  • QUwfdgl.jpg

It all just depends on what I feel like doing.

See that 2 of the daily challenges are unattainable because I dont own the required weapon and refuse to buy anymore because we cant store them and I hate a cluttered weapon wheel.

Shake head.

-Locate red dots

-Go to fast travel point

-Go to whichever hunting ground is furthest from red dots

-Hunt

-Do some daily missions

-Get bored

-Leave and go play a different game

At any point however I can be randomly kicked thanks to R* bright idea to matchmake people with others from the furthest reach of the planet, meaning the lag and desync is real.

- Check the daily objectives. I cherry pick a few.

- If there is a pvp daily and some d-bag volunteers, I kill him/her x times with the appropriate weapon.

- Find a campfire or go to my camp to craft snake oil and load up my cores.

- Refill ammo at the camp or nearest post office.

- Pick the herbs I am missing to get a full load again.

- Hunt pigs, ducks or geese for animal fat.

- Do some homestead raiding to get moonshine, gun oil or other goodies.

- Go to my sweet spots for fishing.

- Do the occasional gang attack and moan nobody drops a treasure map.

- Fight off the occasional tryhard.

- Do some hunting.

Usually go up near Hannish and hope to get the 20min bear hunt mission near Fort Wallace.  The river behind the fort is usually full of Sockeye Salmon.  So after killing the bear, I can load up on fish in less than 10mins.  Max Sockeye, plus the mission can yield at least an easy $40bucks, plus XP.

Firstly I check the daily challenges to see if any can be done quickly. Check how much special ammo I’m carrying. Do a stranger mission if there’s one close to spawn point. Mess about with my appearance a bit. Apart from that not much else.
