Yeah, the whole auto aim along with use of ability cards already makes PVE boring and not fun. Either someone has an unfair advantage, or you can headshot with pin point accuracy ( or same done to you). Its not fun and people who want FA will in time get so fed up with it ( if they even try it at all) that they will clearly walk away for better games that do not cater to little kids. 

 

This idea you can mix the two properly is just gonna result in a ton of work they have to keep adjusting , fixing, changing and still not satisfying. When they could have simply just added back what was in other rd online and gta v . The only real thing that needed to be fixed about FA from GTA is not even have a assisted free aim at all. So you either play in auto aim or free aim lobbies. No other choices.

Apparently its really super friggin hard it seems . Overthinking things and wasting dev time on stupid stuff that none of which actually fixes the problems seems to be what they are stuck on for some reason. Pretty sad a game with this much potential they are just ruining ad holding up getting out more fixes and content quicker in the process.

Im assuming you mean PvP right? Not PvE.

 

Agree with your post though, dont care much about free aim but id prefer to spend weeks getting good at it that ever playing most wanted in tall trees ever again. PvP in this game is just not fun.

They're not doing lobby types because it seperates the playerbase. They want everyone together and this is their solution, it's better than nothing. If it were up to me i would just scrap auto aim altogether against other players, I think it would make the PvP more enjoyable and there would be no need for seperate lobbies. 

 

It's a shame that auto aim is still a thing in rockstar games, I like it against the enemy AI (as they have aimbot) but I think it shouldn't be a thing against other players at all.

If the Lamat and story/free roam missions is all the spring update will bring content wise, it still seems awfully light..

 

Also, really upset that they won't add these new guns to single player as well. Downgrading the graphics on top of depriving it of any new content. Who knew R* was capable of stiffing a SP game worse than they did to V, at least V got the new weapons, clothing and cars up to a certain point. The roster of guns was light to begin with in SP, over half are variations and " rare" versions (many of which will be reused in RDO I'm sure).

I'd really like to know if we'll be able to own houses/cottages/farms. I dunno, it just makes me feel like my character is more part of the world rather than just some lone wanderer getting lasso's and thrown off cliffs.

The recent update already made the game feel a bit empty and boring. These new changes will make interactions very awkward. It is extremely geared toward the PvE crowd. R* is creating a digital safe zone, and all the excitement and surprise of free roam is dying. Many PvP oriented players will abandon RDO, and they will take their money with them, which will cripple RDO development. No one likes getting griefed, but this is too heavy-handed, not to mention unnecessary with the one kill parlay system in place.

Am I understanding it right, or does the Lemat have a built-in shotgun then? I hope they make it work this time.

 

I never knew that while playing Redemption 1. Didn't know I needed a revolver with a built-in shotgun either - but now there's a strange urge to have it like that.

Yeah, irl the LaMat had a second barrel which held a single buckshot charge, there was a switch/lever on the hammer for selecting it instead of the standard ammunition.

 

It wasn't used in RDR, the gun model had the second barrel, just wasn't active.

They can just use the same mekanic as when using scopes to switch between the two of them

Agreed. Hit down on the D-pad to select the single buckshot charge. 

 

E: As the LaMat is already slower to reload due to holding 9 rounds, a functional buckshot barrel would make reloading from empty even slower still.

 

I still want it, because accuracy/immersion > convenience.

So they are trying to implement passive mode.  Huge fail, proof the community is full of griefers and whimps. This post also confirms I have been a red dot since this new system came out and the game has never even informed me for the past month.  I have paid hundreds of dollars worth of bounties killing players.  Yet, I am supposedly not going to have to in future.  But will I get a refund for the b.s. boutnies I paid for? 

 

 At some point, they have to realize greifers have won, whatever R* doe will only be used by griefers as an exploit to the system.  They need to just implement separate lobbies instead of trying come up with complicated means of appeasing non pvp players.  Make them private so they can explore and hunt, but cannot run the good free roam missions in privates.  Always felt that was a good a compromise.  Understood they wanted to keep us all together, but this new system sounds like griefer paradise.  Anything resembling passive mode may actually kill this game for me.  The few areas on the map that allow passive mode are already being exploited.

Time skip would be great. Normal Armadillo and McFarlane Ranch, outlaw paradise Thieves Landing (not just a few cabins), train in New Austin.

It's not hard, but Rockstar has stated before that they don't like splitting players. That's why GTAO didn't have DLCs.

We need Mexico for the train to work. I doubt they'll connect the track to the new train line

That new parlay system and blips are garbage. Some of us anti bully/anti griefer players have already taken our money and moved on to Division 2, so i guess Rockstar needs to figure out if they want to cripple RDO development by catering to the griefer or anti griefer crowd. Or maybe come up with something to keep both groups involved which it sounds like they are trying to do. Someone told me of the upcoming changes, so I'll at least come back to see if they work when they're implemented.

 

Bottom line--Rockstar seems to have taken a stance against griefing, timid though it may be. So I guess all those players talking about how RDO is supposed to be so lawless were wrong, huh?

I appreciate that you're not a fan of these upcoming changes. You're more aligned with the PVP camp, as far as I can tell.

However, until they introduce private lobbies, then we all need to exist in this world together and many of us don't want a 24/7 PVP bloodbath.

Many of us do just want to hunt and fish and there's nothing wrong with wanting to do that and not be subjected to said PVP constantly.

I don't mind a bit of PVP now and again, but for those out there who want nothing to do with it full stop, then I'm sure these changes will be welcome.

Well, i have not played alot , because i hate this auto head shot bs and i'm not a high enough level to have the stupid cards where i need to be in dead eye to keep someone from auto headshotting me. So my time since the update has not been a ton. But i will say , i can ran across more than my fair share of players and seen them on the map ,Some blue, some red. But at times ive also felt i can be alone and explore without feeling like im about to be shot any second, because the first shot will be all i hear as its an auto headshot.

 

Also , a moment i had, which i thought would have never happened with the new system ( as i have high honor and should not be showing on the map) . I was being attacked by a gang of wolves. I killed all but 2-3 of them before one took me down. I was bleeding out with option to just die, but couldnt do much else. Just as i was about to hold the button to die, i hear gun shots. It was a totally random stranger in the server, who came to my rescue. Killed the remaining wolves and healed me , then just left. I was totally amazed he even knew i was there, so i feel he was just happening by at the time.Pretty cool moment that made things feel realistic to me.

 

Also i love seeing the people who just love to grief people all the time ( because its so simple to do with autoheadshots) trying to act as if people who do not want to deal with that all the time as some kind of bums and soft people. Maybe some people dont like taking the time to hunt animals and try to transport them only for someone to take you out in 1 shot and slow you down. Or blow up the wagon your returning, thus wasting the time you just spent trying to retrive it. One reason we want private lobbies and Free Aim lobbies is , a large majority of the griefers would not step foot in those servers. Why ? Because you can not just simply aim at someone and kill them so easily. It would take alot more time and skill to do so. Also because we find it boring and skilless to have auto headshots and auto aiming. 

 

The changes they are making are ment to do something, but in reality as many have said all it will do is give griefers a new tool to exploit because they have nothing better to do. Different lobby types is the only real answer but we are not getting them . But lets stop trying to make it out like because not everyone likes to grief people all day and just go around killing people all the time , they are somehow beneath you. 

 

My challenge to all those who love to grief and want to act like its how everyone should play and be cool with. Do everyone else a favor. Change your aiming to free aim . Then feel free to try to grief people .

I was very skeptical of the new blips system to the radar as I was always someone who either had the companion app open or would religiously check the map to see what was going on where I was going and now I think it has been a very good addition. It's certainly not perfect but it is the step in the right direction. I've played many hours since Feb 26 and I am yet to be killed by a blue dot and every time I look at the map to check on red dots I usually see them battling each other which is the way it should be. The parley after one kill and the fact you don't lose anything on your horse anymore are fantastic as well. In fact I've killed far less players since I never killed anybody who didn't shoot me first and now I don't even need to play the griefers game because when you parley you spawn further away so if you are a blue dot they can't find you anymore. This doesn't make up for lobby type options but I truly believe they will come when the beta is finished. As for the new changes coming, I am even more skeptical of the offensive/defensive player but I will hold off judgement until it comes and I have some time to try it.

Very well said. When you are being targeted via auto-aim by someone using explosive ammo (still managed to get my cart where it needed to go), the whole 'git gud' argument is just laughable.

@P.T. very cool story bro. To me this sounds much more like a legit wild west of strangers coming across each other (Bonnie finding John after him being shot comes to mind) than a constant shootout all over valentine, but maybe thats just me.
