Yeah, I like the sound of the changes to the hostility system, we'll finally be able to defend ourselves without having to worry about being marked as hostile or getting a bounty, I hope they also take away the honor decrease we get.

As long as you get hit first. It would be better imo if a player shot near you (admittedly this might not be so easy to implement), this way you wouldn't start defending yourself at a disadvantage.

Absolutely.

 

Don't take me wrong, though. I like the idea and it's certainly a nice addition to the game and would allow people that want to play with others some sort of defence without having to completely isolate themselves in closed-off sessions. However, it is no substitute for lobby choice.

 

My hopes for this situation, since I would like to experience this game if it ever comes to PC, is that this is just placeholder while the "beta" denomination is carried and that said lobby options will be introduced later, once it comes out of it.

Yeah i am almost certain they added that just to tease some of us who have been asking for free aim lobbies. Still does nothing to negate the fact that people can use those stupid cards in showdown series, or the fact we can not play in free aim only showdown series.

 

Also , for those who have forgot, this "major" update wont be coming until about the end of May , start of June. They said "LATE" Spring. Spring does not end until june and if you have followed rockstar for more than a year, you know they almost always drag things out until the last day of a season they claim they are giving us something. So thats a long wait for some mehhhh stuff imo.

 

They really dont want this thing to take off do they ?

It isn't, and never truly will be.

 

I'm at the point now where I really wanted a top quality Porterhouse steak, but I've been waiting for so long, I'll make do with a Big Mac and all the self loathing that comes with that kind of compromise.

Late May would be my guess. June seems a bit excessive, but anything before May seems overly optimistic.

This is very great news! 

I cant wait for this to be added. The griefers use to suck, so when they cant lockon most of them are going to dissapear from the lobbies.

 

Since they mention the time is set back i hope we also going to meet Arthur, sadie, John and Dutch 😁

If they go by their schedule of an update every 3 months, i'd say around late May/early June.

 

Would be nice if they tried for early May though.

I would agree june would seem excessive but this is rockstar we are talking about. Who normally when they give us a time frame and use a season , its on the last day of that season. Look back at trailor releases and info drops. Pretty sure most ended up on the last day of the season.

 

The fact they said late spring, already tells me , its a long time from now , we are at the very begining of spring . 

 

Worst part to me is even what this "major" update seems to add is very little imo and not alot of what people have actually been asking for. So how long before real quality get added? Christmas? Just seems like a pretty lame way to go about this. I get it they claimed it was in "beta" but ive played alot of online games in beta and it was not half a year before they added a ton of things to make it feel like a full product and then added much more after. Rockstar is doing the opposite it seems . And from a company that has made so much money off GTA Online.... that is kind of sad really.

On your first point: Let us hope you are right, because it does seem like it might be enough of a deterrent for the little ones 😆.

Mid to late May might fit well around the next GTAO update. @Fun 2 doesn't think GTAO will get its usual filler update this month.

 

GTAO update in April, RDO update in May? Sounds reasonable.

Yeah the beta excuse at this point is laughable. Dripfeeding and MTX, but no frequent fixes. Should be the opposite. Most betas get patches every few weeks, but here we are getting one every 3 or so months (and they don't even address the real bugs or issues!)

Maybe private lobbies will be in the game when it's comes out of beta, maybe they won't. But I will bet that if they don't have private lobbies and the player numbers tank, I bet private lobbies will show up anyway. The only thing companies seem to understand anymore is money. If the player numbers tank and the money dries up, they will put what players want in the game to draw them back. If you want private lobbies like I do, stop playing the game and keep submitting feedback to Rockstar. They will eventually turn around and put private lobbies in if player numbers tank.

Story missions and dynamic events sound good, just as does the Defensive play. But sadly, still no word of properties. I don't think I'll be returning before I get to buy my own farm!

Im just curious where you got this info that lobby types were in the game pre launch ? i do not recall hearing that anywhere. 

 

However , as i said in another place in forums, the only way i can understand them not having them is if someone higher up in company told them they were not going to allow seperate lobbies and told the devs to figure out a system that could "cater" to people of each type.  I recall them saying before hand they wanted to not split up the player base, so its looking like cutting free aim lobbies is their answer. But i have some bad news for them ,this bandaid will not work as they hope.

 

Many of us who want FA , might try to struggle thru this auto aim bs . But the fact is its not fun, even when we are the ones killing others with auto headshots.Its not fun because there is no skill involved and we prefer more of a realistic feel and challenge. Its like trying to make adults play on a playground built for little kids. You might try it , but there will be nothing that keeps you there when there are so many other adult places to play ( other games) .Thus this will see the player numbers on average be lower than they would be if they simply added the other options. Thus they are losing out on many more users who might would play the game on the regular , thus upping the % chance of some of those spending money on micros. There is no way around it  , more players playing the game on a regular basis raises the % chances of more money being spent on micros ( which is their goal in this but they are going about it all wrong and over thinking it).

 

Not to mention the dev time being lost working on these systems they are basically starting from scratch , when they could simply add in the lobby types ( already built it seems) and spend this time on adding more content and fixing more bugs and issues. That is the real kicker to me . 

 

Why is this so hard for them to understand is what i do not get. I wish the devs would stand up and speak up .

This is like one of my suggestions ive gave them about "hunting" type of events. 

 

It would be cool to have a 3 day event. Where they select what type of animal it is. You have to hunt and kill or fish for selected animal , then once you kill it you would have to take it to the butcher to be "registered" for the event. Largest one at the end of 3 days wins .

This sounds like an absolute disaster. The whole point of the blips, the anti-griefing measures - was so that we wouldn't have to put up with the cancerous passive mode system. People turning invincible, then flickering it off when your back's turned.

 

Now they're adding a Passive Mode MKII where you can shoot people while still in it?

 

Sounds so, so convoluted too. It'll be f*cking ripe for abuse.

 

The only saving grace is I don't know how it works, because they've made it so complex. If I'm wrong, good. If I'm reading it right, and this is passive mode MKII, then I'm out.
