Deathbike: 3 quick questions

Recommended Posts

JRebbert512

I have a few quick questions about the Deathbike. I apologize if these have been addressed elsewhere, but until search is fully working on mobile devices, it’s easier to just ask.

1. Is the back armor worth it, and does it slow the bike down at all?

2. The Future Shock version cannot have its wheels replaced, so the thin rear wheels cannot be applied for the speed boost. Does this matter for the FS version, or does its normal wheels give it the same boost?

3. Are the front spinning blades worth it at all in actual arena wars environments? What about free roam? Do they get in the way or slow the bike down?

Thanks!

1 - is it worth it? Depends. I would say its mostly cosmetics so buy it if you think it looks cool.
But In Arena War events I think it was easier for me to hit targets with that shield on the back (cause its a big prop so hitbox is bigger)
I guess its more useful in freeroam against npcs that are shooting you from the back but then again its a bike that starts smoking pretty quickly... Also keep in mind that Future version has the smallest shield.

2 - Are you talking about that Gargoyle glitch with the rear wheel that makes it go faster? Well you can still change wheels in Apocalyptic and Nightmare version. I guess it won't work on FS if you can't do it.
3 - In arena wars? Naah. In freeroam? it instantly kills npcs but its not rly useful. I don't know if it slows your bike but I didn't notice anything like that.

So tl;dr - You don't rly need those. I would suggest to just wait for discounts.

But heres a video that might have more info:

The back shield or scorpion tail as most call it is mostly cosmetic as the user above stated. Don't let that discourage you tho it still look badass regardless.

1. For use in the arena, you should always purchase heavy armor plating as it will give you the most damage resistance. (Only the Future Shock version gives the choice to have no shield but heavy armor.) As a means of transportation in freemode, the light armor plating should suffice in terms of resisting crash damage. You can also apply 100% armor to the Gargoyle before the upgrade and it will carry over, but even adding the light armor plating after conversion will give it more damage resistance and any armor plating modification will make any percentage of armor purchased beforehand irrelevant.

2. The Gargoyle back wheel speed glitch also works with the Apocalypse/Nightmare Deathbike, but not the Future Shock version as the wheels on that one cannot be replaced.

3. The spinning blades interfere with the aforementioned speed glitch as they hinder your ability to wheelie. I rarely use the Deathbike in the arena and have never tried to ram any opponents with it, so I imagine that the blades are rather useless, but I could be wrong about that.

1. If they say so. Not sure, never tested this. I went with the Future Shock for aesthetic reasons.

2.Not sure about the 'glitch' boost, but the regular speed boost seems to suffice.

3. The blades will do damage. The longer the blades contact another vehicle, the more damage is dealt. However, they do affect the bike's handling but not necessarily it's speed. Warning: if you ram or contact a vehicle with low health and 'kill' it, 9 times out of 10, the subsequent explosion will take you and your bike out also.

I have a FS deathbike. It s a must have for Hot Bomb and Buzzer Beater. It's pretty dominant in other arena modes but cannot withstand explosions very well. Drone EMP and detonation negates it in Games Masters and Tag Team most of the time. Mines are the deathbike's Achilles heel. Therefore, a fully modded and well utilized Sasquatch is the deathbike's ultimate nemesis.

Is it still good for off roading (if the saw blades aren't installed) like the Gargoyle was?

I'm not sure why everyone says it's cosmetic. The back armor DOES stop the bullets. The bike takes damage instead of you. Can save you against an occasional headshot.

Spinning blades catch the bumps so you can crash sometimes. However, I don't think that they directly affect the bike performance.

Blades destroy any non-bulletproof tires in seconds. Therefore you can create a massive traffic jam in freeroam or use it to stop NPCs during missions. Ok for PvP and sometimes you can even get the eject kills against passive mode abusers.

However, you can live without any of those. I would say, the most practical part on the deathbike is vertical jump.

Bike with a vertical jump + Compact grenade launcher = very underrated combo

I have two Deathbikes - fully upgraded for practical stuff and the clean version for stunts.

Gargoyle feels lighter to me. Idk, they don't feel the same
